61 going on 22, sitting in the old 75 Chevy C-20 that Dad bought new and I drove to high school. Feels strange not to have to stuff a folded match book cover into the tune box to listen to this. I feel like I am 16, of course that might be the fat doobie I am blazing.

Driving through Germany in 1977 I saw a village hall with a tape cassette sale on. I stopped and browsed but all I could find was 'oompah'. Then I spotted it. Pink Floyd - Wish you were here. Bought it on spec and played it in the car as I resumed my journey. My life changed forever, there and then.

You know, when I was in high school in 1975, I missed a lot of the happenings. I was a football jock and sort of steered away from a lot of the “head movement.” Not a complete square, but still carried my father’s WW2 Marine mentality. A lot of emotional problems with parental divorce and uncertain future, lots of anger. I guess I just embraced more the AM pop rock. Of course, I knew of Pink Floyd, just sort of tangentially. I did embrace the Moody Blues for spiritual counseling and solace. It wasn’t until my latter 40’s that I really picked up Pink Floyd, almost like it was a closed closet in my mind that suddenly sprung open. Almost like it was music just created in the first ten years of Year 2k.I introduced it to my wife (a foreigner) and children and took them to Pink Floyd laser shows. We all grew up on Pink Floyd Together. My kids wore Pink Floyd tee shirts. I played the Pink Floyd music in our car on family trips. We sang it together. My young daughter, one morning, on a no-school snow day, dusted off an old guitar in the house and taught herself guitar that morning off of the internet. When I returned from work by evening, I found that she never left her room, and was strumming, picking and singing Pink Floyd masterpieces. In the 60’s and 70’s there was an explosion of so much music, it would have been very hard to process it all sufficiently while dedicated to school and other activities. Studying and enjoying the psychological nature of Pink Floyd probably might have been difficult for myself as a confused teenager. I probably would have viewed it as a really great and transcendent band, but never really appreciated its deeply emotional and psychological healing energies. I have always been a late bloomer. But, they are just so amazing, wonderful. Really a great contribution to human consciousness.

Because it was a better time and culture in the 1960s and 1970s, so everything from that time sounds good. Young people today don't have any culture, they just listen to One-Direction and TikTok videos. The last good soulful music was probably Whitney Houston in the 1990s. We now live in a cultural desert, that why we love the music of previous generations. It represented a more hopeful time in the world.

This was the number 1 bestselling album in autumn 1975. Imagine listening to this late at night in 1975. Gerald Ford is president. Nobody has TikTok or mobile phones. People were listening to good music on vinyl.

Nowadays, with artificial intelligence, people are satisfied with a tidbit of data. There is no complete soul-searching. There is no community. There is only survival of the individual unit.

Вот умели ж тогда сочинять и писать музыку! Слышно партию каждого инструмента и при этом ни один не заглушает другой. Всё выверено, четко и, не побоюсь этого слова, интеллигентно! Ну и конечно магия винила добавляет свою теплоту. Даже небольшие потрескивания делают эту живую музыку ещё более живой!

То, что вы описали - это английский звук, он был не только у старых групп, но и у новых, обратите на это внимание. Так же их аппаратура тоже любит в детализацию и интеллигентность. Значит вам просто нравится английский звук. Гуглите английские чарты, может откроете для себя что-то новое.

Этот диск попал ко мне в 1978 году…без обложки и был уже достаточно потрепанный, поэтому все эти шорохи и трески при звучании органично у меня вписались в эту музыку….я слушал его миллион раз и я считаю, что это лучший альбом у Pink Floyd!

Вы слушаете через Hi-Fi акустику? Потрескивание и подшморгивание, на фоне паузы, говорит или намекает нам о записи с помощью микрофона (фонов).

@@Vladimir_Filin это винил потрескивает, комнату мы бы услышали по эху и всяким отражениям, другими словами по реверберации. А это просто оцифровка, которую наложили на видео отдельно. При оцифровке тоже слышен треск винила, вы, видимо слушали те оцифровки, авторы которых убирали эти артефакты.

А я не живу в Москве и что же теперь убиться и завидовать тебе? А я со свежего винила на Грюндике слушал концерты Пинков, когда мало кто ещё был почитателем этой группы. А всё потому, что даже не понимали разницу между моно и стерео, между магнитофонной бабиной с многократно перезаписанной музыкой, на разного уровня аппаратуре и виниловом носителе исходной студии звукозаписи.

мне 36,помню в далеком детстве музыкальный центр радиотехника,мамины винилы это pink fljyd,led zeppelin,Uriah Heep,ну и весь психодел))))у бати же deep purple,rainbow ну и все что потяжельче😄.так что я их очень давно знаком с их творчеством очень благодарен своим родителям за такое вот музыкальное воспитание😉вообще тащусь от роджера уотерса,кстати когда первый раз послушал сольник его, я сразу услышал именно ту частичку пинков из далеких 70Х,что сейчас играет на этом виниле.

В 80-х годах садил сына напротив вертушки и с предварительными пояснениями о правильном способе восприятия музыки знакомил ребёнка с шедеврами современной - рок и даже классической музыки. Искусству композиции учатся на примерах классики. Потому Пинки останутся в вечности.

When I was 14 years old (moreover, when I studied German for 7 years), when I was in an environment where everyone could play something as a group of 13 or 16 people gathered around the famous German Fountain in Istanbul, Sultan Ahmet Square, and there were people (English, German, Dutch, Austrian) in that environment... Someone made the entry 'Wish You Were Here' but couldn't get the rest. So I said, can you give me that guitar? I played and sang that amazing song that I had never tried and played until then, together with the solos, and when I was only 14, the apocalypse broke out... applause, applause, and applause... In short, it was very enjoyable and I'll never forget (I'm 58 now) I love myself and I'm happy with the Blues I learned what it was with Pink Floyd... The new generation has to learn the old ones... To open new horizons....

Дэвид Гилмора как-то сказал, что считает этот альбом лучшим в творчестве группы, так как, в нём музыка и слова находятся в абсолютной гармонии. Трудно с этим не согласиться, когда слушаешь Pink Floyd на протяжении многих лет, начиная с юности. Есть своя прелесть и в других альбомах, но этот АБСОЛЮТНЫЙ ТОП!

I recall like it was yesterday. A pilgrimage to the Record Hole at North Star Mall. Sweet 15, heartbreakingly young, my little angular girl face a thing of beauty that makes me cry to think of it now... Picking through the glorious sea of albums... the search was always such ecstatic joy. Finally, after asking for one more headphone test, selecting Wish You Were Here for my brother Ed's 17th birthday present.

Просто улетаешь в другое измерение, без всяких летательных аппаратов и ракет! Roman Одел наушники , дал на всю и уплыл в далёкое, прекрасное прошлое, где меня уже нет , но возвращаться в памяти туда ох как приятно. Наверное для этого и существуют такие святые вещи , как музыка. Александр Соболев Мне уже 70! И я жив и слушаю Pink Floyd из далеких и незабываемых 70 годов...... Ахмед Омаров Мне 66 лет, а волшебные звуки этой любимой группы и теперь, как в те далёкие 70-е, чудесным бальзамом ложатся через уши в мозг и душу. эксперт-консультант . Великая музыка . Без сомнения - на сотню и более лет будет образцом для подражания и вдохновения . Не перестаю восхищаться . Гениально !!! Eddi Schefer Это нечто, ни до ,ни после такое даже близко не могли создать. Музыки много хорошей и гениальной но это совсем другое измерение.

This is one of the first records that I purchased back in the early 70’s. I saw Pink Floyd in concert for the “Animals” tour and they played “Welcome to the Machine” along with an amazing animation that is available here on KZfaq.

In my opinion, this was their best album. Yeah, it's better than 'Dark Side of the Moon' and 'The Wall'. My son considers it their 2nd best album, after 'The Final Cut'. Pink Floyd is one of the best acts in rock history. They've been adding fans for over 50 years......

Pink Floyd перший раз почула в 1975р. і все, пропала, вони і зараз для мене одні з найкращих, часто слухаю їх альбоми і сина підсадила, на черзі онуки, але хай ще підростуть, дуже малі. Цей канал попав на очі випадково. Зайшла і зависла. Звучання... Підписалася. Дякую за насолоду.

1973,1975 и 1977 - великолепная музыка и лирика ! Из других альбомов тоже есть прекрасные работы, но, для меня эти три альбома лучшие !

Альбомы "Atom Heart Mother" (1970) и "Meddle" (1971) тоже вполне достойны места в этом списке, как и "The Wall" (1979), но он - особенный в плане музыки (попроще) и к нему особое отношение!

Holy shit.... I actually have tears streaming down my face right now.. My God man.. Thank you for bringing me my youth back.. I was born in 68, but grew up listening them since I was maybe 5ish..
