Why wasn't the promoted version in the actual show? It was way more detailed and magical girl-ish than the simpler one they used in the show.

Okay, I have a strange addiction to this anime so I’m gonna give a real answer as to why they changed the transformation. The entire anime’s point was to go against the classic princess story. That includes bright, fantastic, transformations. Like the ones in Cinderella. The wanted to go against it. The promo version was an original idea for the transformation but they changed it when they decided what the anime would be about. Going against fate.

I think that the simpler one is very good for this show because it's a transformation that really stands out from other magical girl animes (Cuz normal magical girl transformations either takes like a minute or alot of detail when transforming) :3

I like the short transformation better than the promo version. The promo version is a little too much while the shorter makes it stand out from other transformations

in the english dub of princess tutu,princess tutu sounds like what ari jin would later sound like in the english dub of the Hanguk Manhwa Aenimeisyeon flowering heart. as well as what emily (originally miyuki) would later sound like in the english dub of samile pretty cure (english dub name:glitter force)

some times they are short. To me it's like why spend all that time, effort, and money into making a transformation sequence that is only going to be used for a trailer? the short version would made more sense for the promo

actually, to be fair the person who created princess tutu did work as a key animator and promotional artist for sailor moon (mainly in the S and Super S seasons) so there are some influences from Sailor Moon.

And Sailor Moon is just like Cutey Honey. This is a unique magical girl show. Very different from modern magical girl shows like Precure and Sailor Moon
