Hey Christine, it's been such a pleasure to watch your journey. However, on the topic of organic produce & budgeting I'm curious to know if you've considered growing some of your own produce? Rob Greenfield has a KZfaq channel that is super inspiring that might be worth checking out. I've always enjoyed your plant videos and would be interested in seeing you experiment with growing your own food. Lots of love & support from Canada 😄 💚 As a holistic nutritionist student I appreciate the message your sending and encourage you to do some research on GMO foods and the effects of modern monoculture agriculture on your body as well as the planet 🌳🌱🌿😁

Here's a tip for those cello boxes of salad greens...put a napkin or dry cloth on top of the greens, then refrigerate UPSIDE DOWN. The napkin will dampen (and darken) keeping the greens dry and fresh.

Christine, I have no interest in becoming vegan, however I have added so many more fruits and vegetable into my daily meals from watching this video series! Good to hear that you are seeing benefits during this experiment. While all these greens may have made your skin softer it must also be giving you “thick skin” because you sure are getting your share of nasty negative comments. I don’t understand it, but I guess they think their opinion matters to you (or others) 🤷‍♀️ With that said, I am wondering about the pinto and black beans. Do you cook your own from dry or do you buy canned? Also, I bet you could grow beautiful container herb garden! (Especially mint, basil and cilantro).

Another thing I almost forgot to mention... Mint is so easy to grow. Next time you buy organic mint, trim the end of a sprig or two or three and put it in water to root. When it has a few roots, and probably would work even if you didn't root it, put it in a pot with potting soil and there ya go. It can be invasive, that's why I recommend a pot. Before long, you'll have more mint than you know what to do with.

I've had the same problems in the past with acne. It's much better than before now. I learned that I'm super allergic to nuts (contains iodine) and I heard a lot of people are actually allergic to the hormones in dairy products -- and all these things cause cystic acne. Metro gel works great for occasional flare ups. I feel like these two things were definitely causing problems. Oh also check out if you are allergic to fluoride or sodium laurel sulfates/ sulfates. These things gave me a ton of problems too. It took me forever to find out it was causing huge cystic acne breakouts around my mouth and chin and also perioral dermatitis, no fun! Again, major allergies and once eliminated, problems have been very rare. Jason soap is a great and gentle shower gel and handsoap that I use. CVS, Shaws and wholefoods has it and it's much gentler than other soaps. Look for the "no sulfates" label on soap and shampoo. Just throwing this info out there in case it could help out anyone else reading this. Have a good day! :)

It is frustrating because when organic was just taking off they polled consumers and asked everyone of they'd pay 10% more for organic. The answer was overwhelmingly Yes! But then they put organic up way more than 10% more than toxic conventional.. Conventional shouldn't even be legal because we shouldn't have to pay more just not to be poisoned. That said organic produce is cheap at Aldi, Kroger and some farmer's markets.

Karen how I prepare the butternut squash . Cut length way . End to end where stem would be . Take back of a spoon scrap seeds out . I keep them for next year . I think u can eat them like pumpkin seeds . I don’t . I rub som oil on skin place face down on a backing sheet . Bake 375 or 400 , until tender . The skin will shrink u will know it getting tender . It is really easy , pop in oven , cook until tender , time varies 30 to 45 . I cut a piece, with skin on bottom like a potato, add sat , pepper , sometime butter , I like goat cheese as a topping . Salt pepper . I also blend up in a blender make soup with bone broth , or use water .and spices.

Have you considered shopping at stores that have more minimal packaging or that you bring your own containers to (like Aldi)? Seems like the produce came in a lot of plastic :/ Even most recycled plastic doesn’t get reused unfortunately, so it just becomes waste that never biodegrades. I get it that it’s hard to change a lot of things about your lifestyle at once and you’re working on your diet so it’s just something to consider
