Rollerblade Crossfire. My full impressions! These skates are from www.inlinewarehouse.com/stree... and in the UK you can get them from www.slickwillies.co.uk
I wore both the Rollerblade rockered frame, and the Endless Frame (from www.endlessblading.com ) in this video.

Like Bill, I thoroughly enjoyed your review and see the same pain points about these skates. And like Bill said the 45 degree strap should be little higher to better lock in the heel. I find the fitting "slightly" loose. With 26"cm foot length I got size US size 8.5 (41). Not sure if it worth trying one size smaller.

Endless Frame are pretty much taking over!! I love mine. The micro-rocker is just sublime, and I feel that I'm always able to give a nice refresher to my skates by switching the set-ups. At this point I'm expecting Endless to partner with FR, RB, or PS and just release a skate that already comes with them. These things are taking over and I think all the bigger skate companies are taking notice. Also, did you break-in these skates in 3 sessions? Sheesh, I figured it would be like 20-30 hours of skating before they felt good.

Thanks so much for the support! We do currently offer custom FR1 Intuition setups through our website. It would be a dream to partner with Rollerblade on a skate. My very first skates were Rollerblade back in the early 90’s. Send them emails to let them know you’d like to see this and maybe we can all make it happen together!

@@endlessblading Do you consider single size setups, maybe in the near future? As low as possible and with some thicc bridges for that tankiness? Tried endless 90 recently, but man, they resonate/vibrate so much to a point I thought "huh, they sing", haha. Excellent frames, no doubt but just wish they were a bit more rigid and a bit less noisy for that silent whoosh.

I'm sorry to hear about that face dive. I'm glad to hear the new skates are working out for ya. The wheel size is a bit small for city skating, though something in the 84mm or higher would be nice. Overall, it seems like a pretty good versatile skate to roll around in a great job altogether. 👊

8:22 I think the buckle is fine where it is. I got my Crossfire and is all about putting the foot firmly against the heel pocket until you feel pressure relief on your toes THEN lacing up for the whole system to work. I didn't do that the first 2 times and I ended with a foot that shifts frontally inside which caused heel lift and crushed toes.

I got the crossfires in size 44/285mm (foot size 280mm or maybe a bit less, with a relatively wide foot) and they fit well width-wise but could be a bit shorter as my toes barely reach the end. Since size 43 is 278mm and probably not as wide, I wonder if I should try them out first as well and then decide. Also, I have no experience with how much carbon can break in and to what extent to they become more comfortable over time. I read a lot of posts about how you should size down but I think they were regarding hard boots mainly.

I apologize in advance If you get this question a ton but I’ve been searching for opinions on this skates sizing for a few weeks now and I figured since you’ve skated these a lot now you would have some solid advice. This is my first non-aggressive pair of skates. My largest foot measures 27.5cm so I ordered the 9.5 based on size chart. They seem to fit length wise but my foot has little space at the end. Also my feet are a little wide. Is it normal to have a lot of ankle pain in these boots? Should I try sizing up to a 10.5 or do these skates just require break in to get comfortable ? I just don’t want to end up spending so much money on something that I will not be able to enjoy but also have zero experience with non-aggressive skates. Love the videos, you inspire me to keep rolling!

When I did a review, FR2 told to be non removable frame, but I can see that mine has a screw and it is obviously removable. So at this point I am not sure if my FR2 would be exactly the same as FR1 from frame mounting perspective.

It kills me that Rollerblade is only making this skate up to size 11.5 US - it's so hard to find good options with size 13 feet! I'm rolling on K2 uptowns + R100 frames and Rollerblade RB 80 pros + NN Ronin frames and they do the job, but there's not enough love out there for big footed skaters!

i feel you man! i m pretty much in the same boat, even smaller one with my mondopoint of ~31cm the RB pro x in 48 is pretty much my only option (besides the somewhat clumsy RB XL;) But after some years of skating through the city I feel I dont miss out on much. After swapping to hydrogen wheels I honestly cant think of a greater experience, rock solid - tank like built quality you can rely on even with 100kg in every situation, amazing new liner, very nice stable+manuverable frames (261mm) and a comfort level that allows me to skate for as long as there is some juice left, without even noticing I m in skates while the buckles keep my foot perfectly in place:) so I m really gratefull to Rollerblade for the super comfy- high performing RB pro line up to my perfect foot size in 48! I might try out the new twister xt sometime as I heard only good things and am curious if the new mold now fits also.

Reviews are one thing but just seeing the skates being put to the test by an experienced skater probably sells more anyway... Although I’m worried that when I upgrade from my concrete rolling boots* to something serious I may go too fast, feel too comfortable and start hurting myself. Maybe these are too much for me. *They are old lower level Rollerblades and not really customizable. Crappy buckles, non-adjustable frames, they feel ok and don't hurt my ankles but I’m constantly adjusting them to try and get a bit more control.

I'm rolling the powerslide next boot with the endless rockered 4x90 mm wheels. I swapped over very recently actually after rolling the same boot with its stock 80mm wheels and frame. I gotta say, the speed and turn response of the new endless frames are unmatched. I just struggle to get the axles at the right tightness. I usually tighten them until full, and do a quarter turn back. Usually far enough to get the wheels free spinning. But I've found the axles come out after some rolling. Also the powerslide next boot is really bad on the pressure points of my ankles. They're nice boots but they chafe. I've never gotten a blister but after about 4 hours of skating I need to stop or Ill tear up my feet. If anyone knows how I can get more roll and smoothness out of my wheels without risking my axles popping out that would be nice. Also theres some rattling in my skates. I think the wheels shift around. If anyone knows what I can check to possibly fix that, that would be nice!

axle popping out as in loosening and eventually turning itself out ? If so use Loctite thread locker. I use the Medium Blue 243 Put some of that stuff onto the thread then just tighten till the desired point. This stuff works in about 2-3 hours but I recommend you to do it at night, sleep, then take them out the next morning. 24 hours is recommended Just remember to get the medium and not the lowest or highest . The highest is too tacky and you will more than just elbow grease. A bottle of this stuff will last you a year or more as long as it doesnt dry out.

I've had several very inexpensive, mass produced, 'favourite' skates. There was even a time that I had adapts, but declared the Krono's Reign my current fave. Nice try Rollerblade but these skates look like a knockoff from old Seba models. The skates suffer from being too high off the ground. A really inferior mounting system. Look at the space between the tops of the wheels and the soles of the skates. There’s a mile of space that doesn’t need to be there. This is old technology. Power Slide has done a good job of getting you as low as possible to the ground with their two bolt mounting points up front. My old pro Bauer hockey skates from the 90’s were way ahead of their time the second wheel was set into the sole so high it was almost rubbing on the bottom of your feet. Aeon skates with their boot and frames in a unibody design with the second wheel right up into the sole. You want stability and control, you want a low center of gravity. I’d pass on these skates, as much as I like Roller Blade and what they’ve done for the industry. Look at PS skates and their Trinity design frame mounting system.
