I don’t have this however in rekordbox you can activate these quite simply using the panel at the top of the screen.

I found that feature after practising some time and I really like it so far. I mainly use Noise Chopper and Morbious Echo :)

great video bro, I'm excepting my. flx4 to arrive soon and this helped, especially when i learnt that I can use the regular CFX, however, how do I switch between the different normal CFX ? I mean is there a way to do so or u just have to do it on RB directly ?? shift + smart cfx only switches between the new presets and not normal CFX?

Thanks for watching. Yes for the normal colour effects you would have to do this in the menu in rekordbox. So using the laptop rather than controller

Sometimes when I use nlise chopper it only use noise without any effects. But why is it only random?

Nice. Noise chopper and Cyber jet sound cool. Rest are a bit gimmicky. But I’ve mainly used the filters in the touchpads, will start using these as well 👍🏻

A question about the "free" license of Recordbox. I'm a noob when it comes to DJ controllers, but isn't it true that the effects and all other capabilities of the FLX4 are in fact implemented in the software and the FLX4 merely acts as an input device like a keyboard or MIDI controller? I would expect that the Recordbox license is just included in the total price, right?

If you go onto the rekordbox site it will explain exactly what you get for each of the subscription options. I have never paid for rekordbox and found it works all fine with me, however when you pay you will get access to things like stems and cloud access to your music collection. These are things I don’t really use so free works for me. All the effects activated by the mixer as I have shown in this video is via the free version of rekordbox. The CFX and smart fader perhaps not as they were designed with rekordbox in mind however the overall controller absolutely. Virtual DJ maps to basically everything!

I just picked up the flx4 and when I press the smart cfx button it enables effects, even thoigh the filter knob is in the 12 o clock position. This only occurs for deck 1. When I use smart cfx for deck 2 it only enables if ghe filter knob is turned from either side of 12 o clock postion. Do I need to return my confroller or change settings somewhere?

That seems very strange. The smart CFX should only activate when you turn these dials from 12 o clock so from what you are saying it sounds as if channel 2 is working as it should do but not channel 1.

Unfortunately I just returned mine and exchanged for new. Pioneer wanted me to send it in to a service repair company even though my decks were brand new. Wasn't happy about it. Now the new ones are good.

I am not a serato user so cannot say with certainty however I am led to believe that whilst you get some effects, they are not the same as rekordbox. Thank you for watching

The Smart CFX is a good feature but it has some drawbacks. 1. You have to hit the Shift Key and the CFX button to change the FX. 2. You can't customize these CFX and are limited to the 8 provided. 3. In my experience with this controller only 4 of them sound good to me. In summary I don't think this is a good enough feature and depending on the type of DJ you are they may not serve you well during a DJ set.
