The Pioneer DJ OPUS-QUAD is a professional all-in-one DJ system which gives access to 4-deck playback from a USB device or the cloud, provides inputs for turntables or CDJs, includes Bluetooth (which is great for taking the odd request), and will act as a fully-featured DJ controller using Rekordbox or Serato software.

The unit includes full-size jog wheels with a new grippy design, outlined with RGB illumination which is assignable per-deck. By default, it's lit in a sort of amber color which matches the aesthetics of the controller. I must say it's one of Pioneer DJ's most handsome looking pieces of gear to date.
It includes a class-leading main screen with an electrostatic touch module, and it supports all the main Rekordbox things you'd expect, such as RGB or tri-color waveforms (in addition to the classic blue). The bottom part of the screen is the mixer information display, and it's where you configure your mics, channel settings, and assign BEAT FX. The screen also includes an X-Y pad for controlling FX parameters with the slide of a finger.
Important knobs are trimmed in a shiny copper color, such as the large multifunction browse knob (which Pioneer DJ calls the Smart Rotary Selector). It's kinda like a knob and a joystick in one. And, here's a new Smart Cue feature which lets you overwrite the current cue position with a recalled hot cue.
Mobile and bar DJs will appreciate the zone output, which lets you send a completely separate signal to a different room. In case you need some fancy dinner music in one place, and a pumpin' dance floor in another.
The OPUS-QUAD continues Pioneer DJ's recent focus on sound quality, with a high-quality 32-bit digital analog converter from ESS Technology, which everyone in the room agreed sounded really nice.

Feels like the best bet it some one's considering buying 3+ cdjs and a mixer or needs to save space. This would also be a great option for playing in less accessible locations

I use a DDJ-200 as a controller. It's so little but it's fun. The one you're reviewing is a beast. I don't have a library though. I use Tidal.

Great video, thank you. Question for you: I use the FX beat pad on the XZ to drop 1/4 / 1/2 echo delays to develop my own build up. Is that available in the FX touch screen? Literally the only caveat for me to pull the trigger on an Opus. Thank you 🙏

There’s a loud vocal minority that absolutely hate this unit and I can’t blame them. There are a few different ways. You can look at it. From a value perspective compared to Denon. It has less streaming features, but it also sounds better, some would say operates better, it’s fx are largely considered better, and with that 32 bit sound card in there sound as good as it does platters the way they work. It has its pluses just like the den and does. I bought the original prime when it came out and it took a few years for it to get streaming services also. These things just take time. Why I chose to get this thing was I have been DJing a long time, fellas. I was looking for something almost custom. I’ve always purchased the full fat pro rig whether I needed it or not, and most of life I had needed it more than I didn’t, but now with a kid and a wife married working and finance tech I can’t see spending 10 grand just to have a good time on a few streams so this looking great in an adult living room almost like hi-fi 70 stereo equipment as well as doing the work of a full on for deck DJ 900 CD DJ 2000 set up. I couldn’t be happier because you know streamings coming you know everything’s coming this thing is only a year old.

The "Library Plus" export requirement in rekordbox is a hassle. It should read the normal RB library like ALL other pioneerDJ gear. And the off symmetry looks terrible

What i don't get is the huge price difference to the prime 4+. With the opus the "club standard" thing does not even apply. It looks and feels way different than a CDJ, regardless of 2000 or 3000. As it seems it is also using a different export mode, so you can't even use your normal rekordbox sticks? Go save some money and get a better piece of hardware with the prime 4+. Opus is still a cool product, but it will certainly look old in a couple of years with the form factor and the wood.

Don't be wrong with the Opus. It's a great equipment. I agree with you it feels different than CDJ 2000 nxs2 and CDJ 3000 but not worse! IMO it looks awesome! I tested Opus in June'23 and I can tell you it's not made for everyone. It's for clients who take care of his/her/its own image, cool and elegant people, ofc rooftops and high-end restaurants and beach clubs. It's not for a club although it can be used. We normally see CDJ 2000 nxs2 / 3000 in a club. You can use your normal usb with your tracks in CDJ's but for the Opus you need to click Device Library Plus. That's all. You will have 2 folders: one for the Opus, one for the rest. And it's not the double storage. They are just different routes. In a couple of years Opus won't be old dude. It will be sold out. Enjoy your Denon's.

@Bertiemang • 2w ago If you buy Denon, make sure to get the best warranty your shop offers. In one year we've had to return one SC5000, three SC6000M's, and an x1800. Very unreliable and their firmware is unstable. They also keep cramming features into the firmware in which the units can't handle.
