I think that no matter what equipment, expensive or cheap! In my opinion, the sound is excellent! But it's all a matter of taste! Someone loves with salt, someone with pepper, someone cold, someone warm! I love warm!

Cartridge is important, but also a turntable itself. PLX-1000 is very stable, have good isolation of vibrations, high torque of motor and quartz-locked direct-drive. These things are important for a quality playback. But please, don`t stop turntable when you are playing records and start it again. Is not good for the record itself.
@peterregorsek15047 жыл бұрын
I see that in the past you had also the last generation of Technics SL-1200. Do you prefer this turntable from 1200? In reality this is a copy, which has improved a lot and is also cheaper to buy.

The Pioneer feels exactly the same as a SL1200, only the tone arm lift on the Pioneer seems a little less firm. Other than that, they are equal in my opinion. The tone arm bearings on mine are adjusted very wel, there's no play, which seems to be the case sometimes in other units.

I own that very same turntable and also the very same vinyl record. Most of the time, I run a 2M Bronze cartridge at 1.5 grams with a Pro-Ject Phono Box S2 preamp. The sound quality can reallly be amazing. The only thing I don't like about my PLX-1000 is the very weak tonearm lift. Other than that, it's a great deck.

Hi! I agree with you, the entire table feels firm and bulletproof, except the tonearm lift which is flimsy. I sold it in the end and got an SL1200 again, a Mk6 this time. It felt like coming home. Before that I bought a new SL1500C, but the same thing there, very flimsy and in my case faulty arm lift. I run the SL1200 with a Denon DL103R and also a Pro-Ject Phono Box S2. Very nice combo. :-)

@@Vouwfiets9 I have learned to work with the somewhat weak arm lift. Nothing is worse than a stylus that takes a sidestep towards the outer platter rim after being dropped. So I carefully lower it each time just to be sure. I really like everything else about this deck. And the only other deck I might consider would be a belt-drive like a Rega Planar 3 or a Fluance RT-85. I am a sucker for these beautiful acrylic platters lol

why is there so many snobs in the vinyl community. buy what you want , play on it what you want and enjoy. but mostly enjoy the music. what might not be my cup of tea might be your hard earned passion and joy.

How does the MP compare to the White label you have in the holder?
@Vouwfiets95 жыл бұрын
Whitelabel is very nice. But MP300 goes 3 steps further in every aspect, micro detail. high/low end extension, tracking etc. Excellent cartridge, although I could very well live with the Whitelabel.

Just goes to show a top of the line amplification system can make a modest turntable sound superb.

what is the sound quality?
@Vouwfiets97 жыл бұрын
Excellent, although imho a cartridge is responsible for 90% of the sound.

I really had to look because it was some time ago. 🙂On bass it was a Yamaha P3500S, midrange a Behringer A500 and the highs were done by a Samson Servo 170. I've got a comparible speaker set up now, but slightly bigger. 🙂

Nice, but your copy seems quite noisy, whats with all the pops, I thought they made these really well?

I hear it too now. Popping ant the end. I washed it when I bought i years and years ago. It's time for a new bath. :-) My system has changed massively since the by the way.

your equipment doesn't seem to match the very high quality of this cartridge ... waste of money I think ..

You can't really say that as you haven heard it in real life. Looks can be very deceiving.

Vouwfiets9 I would not put this cartridge on a DJ turntable ... it makes no sense .. and too dangerous if some friends come at your home and try to scratch with it ..
@necahead7676 жыл бұрын
Michel Richert lol don't know that I wouldn't put that on a DJ table that has no justification I own a very good system been in vinyl all my life and I do own the 1000 .. besides owning many other turntables..... It's a great turntable and can be used for home and club If that's your profession as for me I'm a audiophile man ...I prefer home and have a AUDIO-TECHNICA vm750sh on it and it sounds fantastic ,remember where you're listening starts from. . don't get sucked in by this hype that there's a rule ........ do what sounds best to you there are no rules in STEREO....... (just price tag )just keep spinning the vinyl (records )

Overpriced turntable for the money, bad quality in sound , the terribly sharp midtone of the player, bad pitchsyncronisation and the building of the turntable is bad, only much rubber under the platter but not in the player, a lot of resolution , An overpriced turntable for the quality what you get
