Absolutely love mine, pitch could be slightly tighter and the pop up made smoother other that they are the dogs. It will take for something serious for me to get my technics back out. These are serious eye candy and they perform superbly. A lot heavier than expected.

i dont know how you would determine that it will have better sound because of a gold plated connection that wasnt included or necessary on a 1210 when that gold connection will be soldered to the circuit board in just the same manner as the rca leads of a 1210 i would suggest that a gold connection would be necessary just to equal the sound quality of a 1210 being that its an extra connection where sound quality might be lost and thats assuming having gold connections is as good as having no connection at all
@gramoukdoom
@gramoukdoom 9 жыл бұрын
because you can plug a high end cable instead of the shitty one tht was on the technics. If the rca connectors are soldered on the board then there isn't any extra connexion.

nowt wrong with the cable on a technics

gramoukdoom The only benefit to gold plating is corrosion resistance. Anything "higher end" than the stock cables is a waste of money.

Well you clearly haven't tried any better cables then my friend. I can assure you cables make a difference in sound. It is universally acknowledged amongst audiophiles.
@oldskoolhead0
@oldskoolhead0 9 жыл бұрын
the cables on a technics are good quality cables, but that wasnt my point, my point was gold plating a connection that isnt necessary doesnt make for better sound, it is still an extra point for loss of sound quality, gold plating it doesnt make up for, or as claimed, improve upon not having a connection in the first place, and if i am unhappy with the quality of the leads on my technics i can take a soldering iron and replace the cables anyway with whatever cables i choose so my point still stands......

Panasonic are technics, always have been. That's why the shops were Panasonic-technics centre. Technics ceased trading but Panasonic are relaunching the brand with the introduction of new equipment. Even a whisper that they may relaunch a new turntable. No doubt they want to sit back for now and see if the plx takes off before ploughing money in. Wise maybe but then if the plx becomes the industry standard then technics have a battle on their hands.

+Shane Mcnair I could sell you the Brooklyn Bridge. At this time there is only one company selling a turntable that can match and surpass the Tech and this aint it. This is a Hanpin.

+keith “yoro 70” parkhill not on mine. I have technics as well which I have no intention in parting with. I've ran the checks and mines sound. technics have had issues in the past but that doesn't mean every deck. I use them daily and can find no faults, the sound is crystal and better then technics and my recordings sound great, maybe a bad batch over your side. either way I have both sets of decks and the fact of buying them is no different to four or five nights out on the piss means I lose no sleep. tried tested and I love them, all that matters

Shane Mcnair I have auditioned over eight various models by various companies over the past year and every one had the same defects and some much worse. This is a Hanpin of the same factory so I will assume the QA issues are no better. At these prices at least market prices its crazy to have products that have a more than 50 percent chance of being defective out of the box.

It's a little bit annoying that every single review of this I read (except for Stereophile's) says nothing about how they sound. You can wiggle stuff around 'em, SURE....how they sound....not so much......but not to worry.....it's the best sounding Turntable Pioneer's put out since PL-90 (and before that the PL-L1000....). Get 'em while they're hot! (Quality seems to have a short shelf life these days....)

I've had 2 sets if technics and yes they are great turntables. However before the trend of customising 12 s to service them were a pain and time consuming. I got tired if a lamp blow out and ground cables popping out. I cannot afford a new set of 12s as for a set of these would be 2500 a pair for just the standard edition ,now don't get me wrong I love technics and I've heard some really bad reviews on these but I think it's down to live and die hard fans of technics and I get it but time moves on and if I can test these before I buy it's a no brainer for me.just saying.

its a revised version of the "hanpin super oem design" same as Stanton ST150 , Reloop, Kam, Citronic etc etc which is shocking considering its more expensive (pioneer sucker tax), all pioneer had to do is make an exact copy of technics, they seriously f**ked UP! by choosing the cheap route and buying off handpin, just buy a good used pair of technics instead

Technics is dead...PLX is the new standard going to all clubs,you better sell while you still can....i see the writing on the wall...pioneer knows what they're doing.The CDJ killed regular Vinyl Turntablisim...the PLX is the nail in the technics coffin...with parts hard to find etc PLX is the new Technic 1200

Technics (brand) Technics Technics logo.svg Native name テクニクス Industry Electronics Founded 1965 (brand revived in 2014 by Panasonic) Headquarters Kadoma, Osaka, Japan Key people Fumio Ohtsubo, president Products DJ sets, headphones, synthesizers, turntables Parent Panasonic Corporation Slogan Ideas for Life. Website www.technics.com/ Technics (テクニクス Tekunikusu?) is a brand name of the Panasonic Corporation, a company that produces a variety of electronic products. Under the brand name Technics, the company produced a variety of hi-fi products, such as turntables, amplifiers, receivers, tape decks, CD players and speakers for sale in various countries. It was conceived for a line of high-end audio equipment to compete against brands such as Nakamichi. From 2002 onwards, products have been rebranded Panasonic except in Japan and the former Soviet Union, where the brand remains in high regard. In Europe and the USA, the brand continues to be applied to DJ equipment, electronic pianos and micro Hi-Fi systems. History Technics was introduced as a brand name for premium loudspeakers marketed domestically by Matsushita in 1965. The name came to wider prominence with the international sales of direct-drive turntables. In 1969, Technics launched the SP-10, the first direct-drive model for the professional market, followed in 1971 by the SL-1100 for the consumer market. The SL-1100 was used by the influential DJ Kool Herc for the first sound system he set up after emigrating from Jamaica to New York.[1] This latter model was the predecessor to the SL-1200 which, as the upgraded SL-1200 MK2, became a widely used turntable by DJs. A robust machine, the SL-1200 MK2 incorporated a pitch control mechanism (or vari-speed), and maintained a relatively constant speed with low variability, which proved popular with DJs. The SL-1200 model, often considered the industry standard turntable, continued to evolve with the M3D series, followed by the MK5 series in 2003. Despite being originally created to market their high-end equipment, by the early 1980s Technics was offering an entire range of equipment from entry-level to high-end. In 1972, Technics introduced the first autoreverse system in a cassette deck in its Technics RS-277US and in 1973 it introduced the first three-head recording technique in a cassette deck (Technics RS-279US). In 1976, Technics introduced two belt-driven turntables for the mass market, the SL-20 and SL-23. The principal difference between the two models was the addition, in the SL-23, of semi-automatic operation and an adjustable speed control with built-in strobe light. They offered technical specifications and features rivalling much more expensive turntables, including well-engineered s-shaped tonearms with tracking weight and anti-skate adjustments. At the time they were introduced the SL-20 and SL-23, which sold for $100.00 and $140.00, respectively, set a new performance standard for inexpensive turntables.[2]

Anybody with a legit tax number can purchase these. They cost 210 American per unit and sell in batches of 10. So what 699 to 799 mark up. That's a ton of profit but not much quality . They will not say Pioneer on them but its the same turntable.

You did in the beginning, everything would be from the technics......you forgot the inside......\????sad...sad... You can give a nice spin on it......you only bought the looks. and were even to cheap to remake the old motor pcb. And the start-torque may be high....but the technics spins why more constant... Why don't you take a 1200mk2, bring it to modern standard, with the tone arm new and cable in one piece , just a new real balanced platter and new bearings...just the standard ones... Offcourse the technics has also shitty pcb's and lowgradecompents, but upgrade those to a normal modern unit. Not those wornout stuff, you buy everywhere on inet. And put also a standard vestax 3000mix next to it... pioneer dares to makes their monitors from plywoord... the fist gen with the remote, with asmall trafo, .... yeah that was good choice..... Like most pioneer stuff it's getting more and more plastic and you have good mixer ....for scratching, but on the long wrong it's rane...great faders, value lasting, since pioneer changes way to often.

Have a word with yourself. These have been around over 6 years now and going strong. They are used by numerous Big name DJs and clubs, so that’s the feedback BS debunked. Will they last as long as a shitty 25 years plus set of Technics; that have had everything replaced!? Who Fking cares! They cost £500 - My last car cost 20k and won’t see the best part of 15/20 years. Have a bit of perspective and stop bitching about the small stuff.
