The one in the video is a 6400NEX, but I have also had the 2500NEX, 2550NEX, 6500NEX and my most recent radio is the 8500NEX that has been my favorite so far.

It has worked with every Pioneer radio I have tried so far. You will only have to repeat it if your battery goes completely dead. The radio remembers it otherwise.

I believe so, I don’t remember having any greyed out settings after doing it. I don’t have that truck anymore or else I would check right now. I will see if I can get ahold of the guy I sold it too and check if possible.

It has personally worked on every pioneer I have tried it on, it might just be a slightly different sequence. If it doesn't work then you might have to bypass it with a wiring bypass kit from amazon.

It’s bypassing the parking brake wire. Usually you have to apply the parking brake to watch anything on the radio.

Every NEX I have personally tested had that option, but they have mainly been newer units. It might not be an option on yours.

It will remember the setting.

If it's not working you can try pushing the reset button with the end of something small and then try this process again. This has personally worked on every single pioneer radio I have tried.

As far as I'm aware, the DMH-W2770NEX is no longer supported by Pioneer (no new firmware updates). All of the NEX units that I've seen this "secret" bypass cheat code work for are the more expensive NEX models that are still getting Pioneer updates. One of the updates added the bypass method shown in this video, but (and I could be wrong about this) the -W2770NEX didn't receive this update. Three-wire, double-pulse micro bypass is the fix for the W2700/70...worked for mine.

Yes it does work with the Pioneer AVIC-W8600NEX. I just tested it.

I just ground the parking brake wire or seal it off with shrink-wrap.

It has worked on every radio I’ve tried so far. Sometimes it takes a couple tries from my experience. You can also try updating the firmware.

I am not sure on that specific model, you might have to try finding a video of someone who has that exact one and see if they can help. It has personally worked on every pioneer radio I have tried it on even if it takes a couple tries.

Must have missed your comment, it has personally worked on every Pioneer radio I have tried. There is also a bypass kit you can get from amazon and you wire it right in.

It should; it has worked for me on every NEX I have currently tried.

What did you do for the park brake wire

I grounded it; connected it to the black wire coming out of the radio.

I am sorry this trick did not work for you, it has worked on all my pioneer radios I personally have as well as hundreds of others I have received feedback from.

I’m sorry to hear that. This is specifically to watch DVDs and or videos from a flash drive. I personally have not tried from a phone.

I’ve seen some people use a magic box to do that. I haven’t tried it but it might be worth it for you.

Sorry to hear that, you might have to get a bypass wiring kit from Amazon. It will accomplish the same thing just a little more work.

@@diydevin My installer left the thin green wire in a loop from the brake sensor input to the ground. Could that be causing this? Do I need to cut the wire? Or remove it from the back of the head unit altogether?

@@ThatRascalMerlin Thats one of 3 wires you will have to use, the bypass kit will hook together the parking brake wire, ground wire and the power wire so it's bypassed. In some cases it will use 4 of the radio wires. Your installer might be able to sell you one as well.

@@diydevin So, the wire has nothing to do with whether your hack will work? Also, my software is the latest, 18.11 if that helps
