This is a followup to the unboxing + review I did a couple months back. Grab a good pair of headphones and listen to how this speaker sounds as recorded from a Rode VideoMic (shotgun).
I also switch between the Pioneer S-DJ50X, the Yamaha HS80M, and the Sony SRS-X2 Bluetooth speaker to help you compare the difference. Obviously it's always recommended to go check the speaker out in person but in case you cannot do this, hopefully this video will be of use.

realizing this is all recorded with a mic.. then it's compressed by youtube.. then its coming out of my home cinema set.. and the sound is prety amazing.. i dont need to buy any freakin speakers... tnx for saving me money.

Best sonic audition I have seen/heard. Liked the adjusting of the diff knobs on back of speakers and adjusting your mixer while same song is playing. Thanks.

the sound is very close to the yamaha .... awesome bro .... I had the old version of Pioneer SDJ and it was very muddy...

Yh there’s not a massive amount in it, I mean there’s a lot more bass to the yamahas but they’re much bigger drivers so not a fair test as such... I still plan on buying more of these sdj speaker at some point.

was it the bulit series??? i have the 8s and the it did sound like the bass drowns out the highs n mids a bit but i also can hear a slight rumble from the box. what are you using now?

They were good little speakers, i was never 100% happy with mine though, the battery just didn't last very long, now it won't hold charge :( I bought an Anker Soundcore Boost from amazon, really good replacement and water resistant as well so perfect for bathroom

Have you ever listened to or tested AUDIO PRO Addon T14 speakers? I would like to hear the opinion of them, as well as the opinion of those present here. Low praise, but what about medium and high?

Hey sorry have not even heard of them til now. Interesting speaking as they seem to be an all in one with Bluetooth and digital in. Kinda cool but in that case you’re relying on the DAC in the speakers and not the focusrite Scarlett. They look like to be more for general listening than audio production or DJing. That said they do have line in at least so would be worth checking that out. Best bet would be to compare specs of the speakers and then check reviews on yt. Cheers!

Cool! How are you satisfied with Yamahas and what monitors did you had prior to HS80M´s?

Reticular Beats 👋🏻 before the Yamaha’s I had a 2.1 pc speaker setup made by Logitech, great bass but terrible mids and tinny feel to the speakers. The hs80m changed my life 😆 💯 satisfied. If I could get the sub to go with them I would as I hear it makes a big difference to the sound of the main speakers as they are less cloudy trying to push the lows and the mids

@@TrevorSwayne Those Logitech can pack a punch, i remember having z2300 at the time.. I Understand, i hear many mixers/producers talking about sub and how it helps them but it seems it takes expirience to get to the point for having one, not just jumping on to them. Thanks for the reply, rn i am fighting with myself because i already see i will go thru many pairs of monitors, so why not ask some questions before..i like Yamahas but i am heavy on low end(i could sleep next to the sub...) so yea.. Cheers!

@@reticularbeats558 I had the z2300, i really loved the sub lol... but yh you're dead right, shouldn't run before you can walk kinda thing i get that. I've had these yamahas for over 10 years now so i don't see me changing any time soon, when i do i'll prob go for the adam a8x.

Recep Türk hey, I do recommend but if your budget can stretch go for the KRK rokit 5s. There’s nothing wrong with the pioneer speakers it’s just they’re more aimed at DJ and the KRK rokit are more for producer studio work... they’ll have a flatter response. Cheers.

Piooner is good for mixing and mastering?

It should be good for mixing but I wouldn’t master on them unless you using as a second reference speaker. You’d be better off with the Yamaha’s or KRK or even headphones.

Yo produzco con los pionner sdj50x y déjame decirte que la comparación frente a los krk, pionner es mucho mejor para mí, ya que los krk tienden a sobreponer más los graves para que tenga una mejor aceptación auditiva, en cambio los pionner son más planos, no engañan al productor al momento de crear música. Los Krk son monitores muy bien marketeados y pues también su historia pero me pude dar el tiempo de probar los krk en otro estudio de grabación y se nota claramente como adornan más los graves respecto a otros monitores. Lo uso con ableton live 10 y con traktor pro 3. Con respecto a la masterización, es cuestión de acondicionar bien tu ambiente de grabación, partiendo desde la acústica y tomando en cuenta las condiciones técnicas que debe poseer tu estudio, es cuestión de investigar más, por ejemplo la distancia de tu monitor con la pared trasera, o la posición de tus parlantes con respecto a tus oídos. Todo ello influye en la masterización, así como el oído humano que también es mucho más importante.

@@JessuDj hi, I have the RP5 at home and also HS7. I never had good mix results with the HS7. And when I work with the RP5 G3, you are right, there are not very flat and they have too much bass and low-mid frequencies. Do you think that I can have better mix results with this sdj-50x ? I make chill dans music ..... I hate the sound of my yamaha lol.
