The USB ports on the Elite are a Godsend. It's basically acts as a hub where ports are limited. It deserves a bonus point for that.

Great Review! One thing, though: The RELOOP ELITE MIXER is actually built for the RELOOP MK2 8000 HYBRID INSTRUMENT TURNTABLES! Those usb plugs on the back panel you couldn’t figure out are specifically for the turntables. Once connected, it UNLOCKS FEATURES FOR THE MIXER AND TURNTABLES. It appears that RELOOP created the ELITE and MK2 8000 for TURNTABLISTS by TURNTABLISTS. I think most DJ’s who aren’t into that aspect of the culture would find some of the positioning of the knobs, etc annoying, and out of place. Together they are designed to assist the turntablist to push the boundaries of his skills! I think you should do ANOTHER REVIEW on the ELITE from that particular perspective, as it is the PERFECT mixer when COMBINED with its mate the MK2 8000 HYBRID INSTRUMENT TURNTABLES for turntablists!

lets see if Allen & Heath takes over Traktor from N.I. and puts out an updated Z2 MKll. I still have a Traktor Z2 that I use, but here's really no other options in the $500-$1000 range for turntablist. A lot of DJ's like the Elite, 70/72 & S9 but don't want to pay that hefty price for them. I don't think you would have to do too much, stretch it about 2 1/2 inches, upgrade the Innofaders to the latest, double-up the pads and move them above the faders, add on board effects and decide if you want to go with the paddles or not......and there you go, Traktor Kontrol Z2 MKll!

@@ClevelandTerry Any chance you will do a similar review for DJM 750 mkII, Allen Heath One 43C or PX5, Denon x1850, and (maybe) Reloop RMX 90? These four mixers have similar price and features to each other but with important differences that would be highlighted in a section by section comparison like for these three mixers.

My Elite came with a bleeding fader right out of the box also. I was on the waiting list for a Rane 70 and the company sent me a reloop overnight and took $200 off plus gave me the option to trade it back for a 70 when they restocked. I never looked back after a few weeks using the reloop Elite. I love it, and Ive used a few 70 s since then including the ATRAK edition and I dont regret my decision ever. Overall I'm happy with the reloop and for $200 less then the rane 70 I cant complain. All the mixers in that price range are amazing and you really cant go wrong with any of these but the S9 is the oldest and the fx are not as flexible. Innofaders are butter and in my 20 years DJing its the best innovation I can recall.

The Rane sound quality is leaps and bounds above all other mixers I've used. I'm assuming it has better digital to analog conversion in it. The one thing that my 72 seems to be lacking is in the microphone preamps. There's a graininess to them that sounds terrible and not nearly as good as my Pioneer. Great review bro!

I just bought the Rane 70 as a Battle Mixer and a fan of O.G. style HIP-HOP D.J. BATTLES and mixing/ scratching etc.. but also to help pay bills and just have fun as a D.J. I mostly find myself doing weddings and anniversaries and sometimes the occasional Holiday party. which I enjoy doing and the money pretty decent overall. the Rane 70 punches the Ticket for all of those types of uses. i've done a good amount of research {including watching your channel to learn alot about the use of these Mixers} before I pulled the Trigger for the purchase. it's 2023 Summer time... and I felt I needed that upgrade to really dive back in to GIG. work now that it's absolutely not ILLEGAL to be free.. { for a couple of years it was illegal to be a free American}. so since I sold my Numark NS7 III and some other gear I needed to upgrade anyways.. so it was back to you tube research and google and guitar center and sam ash and etc.. checking on the gear I need and want for my style of deejaying.. the Rane 70 to me is the best bang for the Buck$ but these comparisons are good to see the difference in Size and aesthetics and features so thanks for your personal and professional D.J. opinions on these things. u always speak on the good and the bad. thats fair.

We do understand that these are considered "battle" mixers, right? Battle mixers don't need a lot. You don't have to just battle with them. But that's how they're marketed. So, it's kind of unfair to judge them for other than battling. Most party mixers have four channels. It would be nice to have a TRUE 2 channel party mixer. They kind of do, like the DJM-450. For battling, they have to at least keep the crossfader clear of knobs and buttons. If it wasn't a battle mixer, all the knobs would most likely be on top of the mixers, rather than in the front of the mixer. XLR connection aren't really important. At least not for batting. I still see DJs pluging RCAs out their mixer to another mixer using a sound system. Also, not having independent controls is what makes it a TRUE battle mixer, to me. You have to be fast with your movements. Probably why I don't consider the Rane 72, Rane 70, and Reloop Elite a true battle mixer 😂. My choices will always be Pioneer S9 and Rane 62. It's a "free" country, you buy what you want and use it how ever you want. I'm just saying that these are marketed as BATTLE mixers. Check out ALL your options before buying what's popular.

Well, I agree all the conserns about your ratings as I also have the same taste as you when it comes to all features those mixers does, except one thing . is the crossfader on elite as it comes with innofader, does it really works well than other two cross fader? Innofader buttery super resposive open and close etc, well pioneer and rane do the same thing , i wouldn't feel any difference on those. I had reloop rm 90 and i did installed innofader on it. but it wouldn't impressed me as i expect. so my opinion you would knock off the additional .5 on elite and add that to the s9 , because it's a kind of old now but they build this cross fader for scratches first. just my opinion not to judge, and i respect you for all your hard work for explaining , reviewing and help making decision to buy the best equipment in the market. I got the S9 and Rane 70. Both are good but I noticed my 70 had some latency when I was mixing. Had to go into Serato and turn the latency down. If any one knows how to activate the sample and FX from the 70(without touching the laptop) let me know. Just got it this weekend 10-17-20.

Thanks for the video. I'm not sure which way to go myself, back to the S9, to the 70, or to the Elite (already ruled out for me). I'm also wondering why they didn't put Deck Swap on the Rane 70. It would be sweet if Rane's mixers could automatically read BPM via an analog system the way Pioneer mixers can. I'm not completely impressed with ANY of the so-called "professional" DJ mixers that came out after 2015. I think that putting controls on the front is a bad idea UNLESS the controls are recessed and very visible, whether that is by color coding, backlighting, or anything that makes the controls very obvious in a real-time DJ setting. Even a very simple layout on the front panel would be good. I hear there will be a new version of the S9 coming out. I'll be patient and see how things pan out before making any more 'high-end' purchases. At this time, in my opinion the S9 still makes the most sense (for me) out of the above 3 options.

S9 : not class compliant -> 0 Wouldn't recommend it even with a deal. I hope they changed this on successor they teased on. Could become unusable with any Windows/macOS update or if you buy a new computer.
@jayneural
@jayneural 3 жыл бұрын
@ well I guess if you can’t use it on an older Mac it’s because of older versions of Serato not supporting it, but as a class compliant device it can still be used even on a very old Mac with software that supports any sound card/midi device. So yes, there is always the problem with software such as Serato but at least when you have a class compliant device you know your hardware won’t become unusable. You can take a USB mixer from the early 2000s and you can still use it on macOS Big Sur, that’s not the case for former but not that old Rane mixers that weren’t class compliant (57, 61, 62, 64) and the same problem will ultimately appear on the S9. Pioneer now made the S11 Class compliant thigh, that’s good news. They still have to provide a sort of driver for integration with Serato but you can even connect this to your iPad/iPhone if you want and play sort of standalone mode.
3 жыл бұрын
@@jayneural Thanks for your detailed reply Jay. I might test Serato DJ pro on my older mac - which honestly I never did, I was just using the information on the Serato website what is compatible. Using Yosemite on Macbook Pro from 2007 - we'll see ! LOL I use firewire devices for audio archival and production. That's another story of the manufacturers taking away the ports for devices that still have functionality. Cheers.

Second, is that, my thinking was, if any electronics fail with the pads on the rp8000, it's not going to be an easy fix. Which is why I went for the 7000mk2
