PIPELINE LIFE TRAVEL (BLOWOUT ON THE DAY BEFORE HIRING IN)
Austin Ross on Austin and Kayla headed to a new pipeline job in WV. Pipeline welding life a lot of the time looks like last minutes running around and travel. As a pipeline welder it is required to test in before starting work. Today for instance, I had a blowout on the pipeliner travel trailer and my pipeline weld rig truck doesn’t hold more than two hours of fuel. I think I’ll be adding a drag up tank to my next pipeline welder truck. Pipeliner life is all about doing what it takes to make traveling welding jobs fit into your life. The pipeliner lifestyle means jumping quick. This pipeline job is just over 1,000 miles from home. I’m glad my pipeline welder rigs got me there safe without much of a pipeline lifestyle rodeo. Hope everyone else traveling in their pipeliner rigs stays safe and gets to their next job on time.

Hey Austin. Just running back and checking some older stuff out. If you want to take the bounce out of the front end when you hit bumps, move your ball forward over the axle. If you are worried about clearance issues they have a 6" extension option. A buddy of mine had the same issue on his 4500 cc rig and a 44' toy hauler. I told him the same thing and it changed his world🤣.

*you have to get fuel every couple of hours? Crap i'm doomed then, i just bought an 06 5.9L 24 valve mega cab SLT to pull with. The tank isn't that big on it either like maybe 30 gallon but with no load i average like 18 mpg too. Lord have mercy what have i done? it's a nice truck but between the 7 gallon oil changes and i ONLY run synthetics, and the high cost of diesel and having to make Frequent stops, i may be in trouble here*

coming from a Biker that hasn't shaved In a decade, you need to try WILLIAMS mug soap for shaving, maybe even a straight razor, there the best, but even a double edge is good if it has a pitch adjustment, which most double edge razors dont. but do give the Williams mug soap a try, my grandpa got me hooked on it as a teenager, plus a brush to lather up. anyway good you made it safe other than a tire wheel, best of luck with test

Hey Austin what was the switch that you flipped wen you went to go start your pickup
@brandoncaldwell95
@brandoncaldwell95 5 жыл бұрын
Kill switch. Usually to the starter or a ground wire to prevent starting. Glowplugs turn on when he cycles the key over to which he did before starting or hitting the switch. Might also be to the block warmer if he has it set up that way, though its battery draining. With the entire welding setup, i suspect a kill switch as that equipment is not cheap. Entire truck set up that way can easily push $100,000 with the truck alone being $50k.

Hey bud, I am going to put this nicly. Put your seatbelt on before you're dead. I dont care how big your truck is, or what tire blows. Always wear the damn thing. Ask DMAXRYNO who had his lifted duramax flipped from a drunk red light runner. He never wore a seatbelt, but that night he did. Car t-boned him flipping his truck and sliding it. He was able to walk away without injury. You on the other hand would be dead pulling that weight around. Its also the law, and a $500 ticket that stays perminently on your record.

LilArthur X01 for pipeline it’s generally on you. It seems like there is always exceptions but that’s what’s most common to our knowledge. Some other oilfield work they will get your room. Especially if you are suppose to be in one location but need to working somewhere else for a short time. Pipeliners get per diem to help with daily living on the road expenses. Typically around $100/day give or take.
