Father had a J3 here in Barcelona... Used to fly with him on Saturday evenings. Your video reminded me of my childhood. Really prisitine J3. Ours had the color changed to white and red since it had a paint job after WW2 (we believe it was military surplus sold in France/Germany).

For balance. The Cub has the fuel tank between the firewall and the instrument panel (you can see the lower part of it below the panel). This is farther forward than most small airplanes, which have tanks in the wings. The more forward center of gravity requires the pilot to sit farther back to balance it out. This particular plane also has an auxiliary wing tank, but it feeds the main tank, so you still have to sit in back.

Thank You! No I just shoot with a GoPro Hero3 (Black edition) camera and use iMovie on the iMAC. I'm an Airline Captain not a pro photographer. Part of the J3 fun is to fly with the door open and window up. Your only going about 70 mph and the view and cool breeze is just part of the fun! There is really No way one could fall out, it's a very deliberate effort to get out of the little stinker. The very best from California USA to Serbia!

Wow! Extreme beautiful aircraft!!! the cutest Piper J-3 have ever seen!! I fly a 1997 Cessna 172R with 160 HP fuel injected lycoming engine and a Diamond DA20-A1 Katana with 100 HP Rotax Carburetor engine . there is only 1 flyable original cub in Germany. your cub is very very awesome!

Interesting, I taught Lufthansa Pilots in Arizona for 15 years for PSA ! This plane was just sold, and I now have a new CubCrafters CarbonCub being built in Yakima, WA. at the factory !

Yes, I have no problems with sunlight being too bright or GPS, 4G signal etc. with the iPad.

Hi Ben! The best way to Navigate this kind of airplane is to just look out the window and use an Aeronautical Map called a "Sectional". It is true you can use a GPS or iPad to show the routes, mountains and rivers, but First you should learn how to easily navigate with a paper map. I recommend you start GLIDER lessons Now and Solo on your 14th Birthday. Flying a glider First really teaches you about flying, and it's VERY FUN! Take a Private Pilot ground school and your FAA Written test ASAP!

I'm having a great time viewing your videos. I own a 1941 J3-C Cub, I use my iPad with Foreflight while flying in the C172 I fly as well (rent though) with a kneeboard case. What setup do you have for your mount? It's a great idea having up where it is.

Forgive my ignorance, but why is are you flying this from the rear seat? Again, not trying to be an irritant, but it seems strange.
