for a 45 3 inch take 3 half it to 1.5 half it to .75 then again to 3/8. add 2nd # to 4th# to make 1,7/8 take off. work for any size pipe.

thanks for the effort..but the way you explain it more confusing.. first where did you get 5/8 for the 45degree.. is it constant? same question goes to 90 degree,38.1mm is it constant like T.O= 15.8mm x (8inches)size of pipe or we need to convert the size of pipe to millimeter before we multiply it with 15.8mm?

need help, spool measurement is 2640mm center to center, what is the cut length of a 6" pipe between a shirt radius 90 degree elbow on one end and a long radius 900 elbow on the other end?

Just multiply Diameter of pipe and formula of 90 degrees elbow equals T.O. and subtract it to length of your center to center. Note: Multiply it to two if you have two elbow

if you take the original radius of the pipe times half of the degree converted to tangent will give you the center

a take off of a 90 is diameter plus half. all my pipes run level and square. no need for a calculator. 3 inch 90 is 4.5 take off. simple as that. don't need a calculator.

What? Standard takeoff for a 90 of 1/2" EMT is 5". Do you mean radius of the bend plus half? Even so, that doesn't pencil out, as the minimum radius of a 1/2" EMT is 4", which by your calculation would be a 6" take off, which isn't correct.
