Rather than using machine learning for match detection, you could have an interactive database, similar to online flag lookups and plant identification databases and so on. It asks you questions about the features of the house -- how many storeys, approximate square footage, roof shape, etc. -- and then presents you with all the designs that match it. If there's no suitable match, a builder can make the build manually and then submit it to the database, specifying the answers to the above questions.

Kids are already using minecraft to learn in schools in different ways whether it be coding or engineering. The game can be fun but also a massive learning tool for kids. I think it does have the capability to last that long and still be useful to others in the future especially with a project like this. History and geography combined in a hands on visual presentation sounds incredibly appealing and effective.
@@masterchief2fg194 yeah, and as much as I hate to say it right now, I bet eventually they’ll get rid of Java Edition to make it so that every single person playing Minecraft is able to have cross-play with everyone playing on any device. And then all they need to do is actually make Minecraft available on more devices. Right now, Minecraft is available on Windows, Linux, Android, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, Raspberry Pi, Windows Phone, Windows 10, Fire OS, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, New Nintendo 3DS, Code.org, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Apple TV, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, Windows Mixed Reality, and Gear VR. But there are still a lot of devices/platforms that don’t have Minecraft yet: Chrome OS, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Windows 11, Steam, Roku, Apple Arcade, Google Stadia, Amazon Luna, GeForce Now, Valve Index, HTC Vive, HP Reverb, etc. And then after they have cross-play on basically every device that exists, there’s no way the game will ever die.

Implement the rotation script, allow it to measure and rebuild by bridging between nodes, those nodes with a degree of error rounded to a lets say quarter meter, use that to make a "hash" (more or less just an efficient compression into a sting that can be reversed quickly and all without errors) to search a database for matching hashes. Then you can apply the rotation script again on the outputs. Remember nose buildings and houses have repetition to them and those nodes can be sub divided, and with sub division you can also make easier customization by replacing segments.

That's 60000 terabytes. Now, I don't know if this information is *COMPLETELY* true, but 2b2t has a file size of 7 terabytes (7000 GB). You see where I'm going with this. But lets say that they manage to build about 25% more houses every leap year, since they build more small houses or something, That means, about 131250 houses built in 50 years. Now lets say that 2000 people build, that means that in 50 years, about 262500000 buildings will be made, so, at that rate, it will take about 750 years.

The story at the end brought me back to my own experience back in Primary School (US Grade School equivalent). Pretty much there's a rule where we had to sit outside our classrooms during recess, and wait for the teacher to arrive before we could enter. Being the kid I was, I decided to balance my half-filled water bottle on my badminton racket. It fell, from a staggering height of approximately 1 inch to hit the lap of someone else. That someone else was the kid that was allergic to dust, yep you heard that right, dust. I'm not trying to make fun of his condition in any way, just stating that with his condition, his parents were understandably protective of him. Hence he likely reported this minor incident, which was somehow interpreted as a criminal offence. The next week I and a bunch of the other more playful kids, who likely hurt the kid before in some way, were all called down to the principal's office. Someone literally brought out a cane, bout to whoop our asses until the vice-principal stepped in, saying to give us another chance. Needless to say I was traumatised throughout my remaining years at that school. Having grown up, I have mostly gotten over it, but it is still one of those straight up ridiculous experiences I frequently share.

Create a schematic for each group & let their computers run baritone one many many accounts (some even alt). You could even run a program that allows baritone to successfully use world edit. This would be especially useful for mansions along a street as they are largely custom.

A good program to automate the construction under the supervision of humans to check if there was any error and a good amount of volunteers, I think this project is possible in only few decades (depending on how you do it). I calculated that if you have 10,000 people to work in this project, each of them having access to a program which can automate constructions, and each build takes 10 minutes (locating the building, finding the coordonates, letting the program run, checking if there is any problem), it would take 205 years working in average 1 hour per day. So you can increase the amount of people by ten times, you can reduce the time to build by ten times or you can work ten times more (which I don’t think is reasonable or even feasable personally), you can decrease it to 20 years. Even if I didn’t really believe in this project at the beginning (I thought there would only be the big cities but nothing more), with this strategy and this mindset, I think it’s promising and perhaps feasable.

There were 4.372 billion buildings were in the world as of September 2021. Thus if 1 building is built every second it would only take... 139 years to complete

Now for the last building use chisel and bits and recreate it to the final pixel.

The finding of matching buildings probably wouldn't be that hard. Here's how to do it: 1. given some database of real-world buildings extracted from Google Maps or OpenStreetMap, build a set of unique buildings, and then 2. map world position areas to these unique buildings, stored with rotation data and such, via a hash table. This should make the lookup time for a matching building O(1), given a volumetric range in world-space.

It sounds like that program is already good enough to do things like trees. I bet areas of wilderness could be cranked out pretty fast already

It makes me wonder when we'll see the day that Pippen & the rest of the gang ends up making an A.I. supercomputer that advances so quickly that it destroys civilization. Imagine dying to a block game. LMao

The most astounding thing about this project is the fact that you're still at it despite how ludicrous the idea and scale are.

MFS did something similar to step 1. MfS is a flight sim though, so it is possible the buildings may not be as detailed.

Imagine if we could create a system that made posible for people that are interested on having their house made accurately by themselves in BTE. Maybe if you offered an entrance to the project for a fee with the specific purpose of them building the ir own house. It would make work so much easier. Cause many people are invested on this, so they paying 1 to 2 dollars for having his real life house o minecraft would be appealing.

The man made aspect of the world isn't limited to buildings. The vast majority of 'countryside' in many nations is farms and fields that are also man made.

This is one of the reasons i wanna become immortal. I wanna see it. When the founders are already dead and seeing their descendants complete it after generations of generations. There i was waiting for thousand of years just to see end. Gonna be a feeling like no other.
