I'm surprised noone ever pointed out that by teleporting at the corners and placing a block you're actually making the walls half a meter bigger on every corner. That's because you're getting the coordinates for the corner, but then you're placing a block that stretches out half a meter in every direction
@garaipeter22 жыл бұрын
Thats why I select points from the center of an imaginary 1x1 m square at the edges. Mostly counts for buildings touching each other. If a build is alone, it doesnt hurt.
@kingchicken82322 жыл бұрын
Well we’re only building down to the meter, so not a big problem, nothing that can be done about that anyways. Also, buildings aren’t always perfectly aligned with the Minecraft grid, so a wall could be off anywhere from nothing to a meter.

Here’s an idea for the obscured houses: try looking for Realestate listings for those homes. They might have more detailed pictures

You should really try the mod "Far Planes 2" a guy named Frode actually tried it and got a stable frame rate using 10x the render distance

Luckily my Last Real House has lost its tree, and I still remember every part of the house cause I made it in every Minecraft world that I actually cared about.

and I used to live on a road not viewable to the public, most likely because someone significant lives there. it sucks too because the whole neighborhood is covered up by trees, and you probably wouldn’t even know it was there unless you lived there ☹️

I don't know if this is a stupid idea, but.. maybe we can make a form where people can upload coords then pictures of the buildings, with an algorithm somehow putting them into a sort of search engine where they can search a coord and see if it's logged or not-? Then afterwards one can even go back to unfinished builds in a few months to check if someone has posted an unfinished house/building.

Easy solution, look up the house address on realty sites. You can see the front, inside, everything. I am building my entire region in Project Zomboid and so far every house in my neighborhood (about 80 so far) are one to one replicas. Minus Zomboid's engine that doesn't allow diagonal walls or basements. Or hills... or any height map at all.......... ugh.............

You should make a copy of the world and make it a server so that people can go in and change their houses to look like they should if you can't see them instead of leaving them blank! But good job thats awesome

This is fairly simple stuff tbh, I think it'd be possible to create a tool that takes the google maps data at some coordinates and generate a sort of matching house using procedural generation
