Thanks for this video! I have been looking at a pitch shifter and I was leaning to the pitch fork because, like you said, does a bit of everything. I am going to use it for both guitar and to play some Tool on my bass 😁

The pog is awesome but i also need the pitchfork. I dont like retuning my bass lol. So e, d and c standard are easy/instant changes

your example with only short notes in a low to medium register is not the best to make such a shootout. As a bass player i used the OC-2 for over 30 years. I never expected the sound ttwo octaves below to track well. the A is 55Hz. 1 octave below is 27.5 Hz two octaves below is 13.75 Hz outside human hearing. And you expect good tracking in that range??? Makes no sense to me. When i use two octaves below i play 2 octaves higher and it tracks really good. Problem solved.

You are the first person who says that the oc5 has a problem with tracking. Interesting. Maybe you have a lemon? BTW, it's a very good comparison of octave pedals. 👍

I loved my OC-5 on my active 5-string until I changed over to new strings. The added resonance did not sit well with its tracking abilities. Why I’m checking out this video now!

That's what I thought as well. I didn't quite like the _TC Electronic Sub n Up_ nor the _EBS OctaBass_ pedals due to the tracking. But the _OC-5_ on the other hand had none of the issues. So I was a bit surprised by the test results here.

@@MrClassicmetal It has very much to do with how you play it. Playing with a pick with heavy attack confuses the pedal IMO. Playing close to the neck with fingers with a light attack works better. You haver to adjust your playing style with all octave pedals in my experience. I have the POG, oc2, oc5, whammy and HX stomp and they all react differently and you have to change how you playing depending on what you are after. Maybe it's just me
