In our new program I have very specific listening exercises that we do first things first - to acclimate your ear to the timing, stress and pitch movement of the syllables. This is the most effective way to unlock listening comprehension in general. After that, it's always good to continue listening practice. The overarching goal is to be able to flow in a back and forth conversation with a native at natural speed. So if the sticking point at that stage is you're not able to follow along well enough with the speed of natural speech, you will orient your training toward more listening practice.
