Thank you for making such a comprehensive video. Its so sad that typical language learning considers pronunciation almost as an after-thought. Listening is the cornerstone of language-learning, and videos like these make it easier to do listen better.

Hey man, thanks for the great video. I'm using a pimsleur course at the moment. In the mimic method, at what stage should I start doing extra listening practice. During scripted or spontaneous conversation stage?

not sure what you're referring to with 'extra listening practice". In our new program I have very specific listening exercises that we do first things first - to acclimate your ear to the timing, stress and pitch movement of the syllables. This is the most effective way to unlock listening comprehension in general. After that, it's always good to continue listening practice. The overarching goal is to be able to flow in a back and forth conversation with a native at natural speed. So if the sticking point at that stage is you're not able to follow along well enough with the speed of natural speech, you will orient your training toward more listening practice.
