You have me crying. During the 80s when I lived in Alameda, I would eat in one of the BBQ places in Oakland, like Flints. Those were the good times. I miss the good food.

Lived in the east bay all my life and alot of the small mom and pop bbq spots disappearing sadly. But glad to see this man doing his thing. And will definitely be stopping by tomorrow to try this! #BayAreaStrong

The best BBQ I ever ate was from an older black gentleman who had a Smoker Trailer and was selling BBQ at a Loves gas station here in Texas. I wish more black pittmasters would open BBQ spots cuz I would be a regular customer.

I thank you for this wonderful video of Oakland Eats...that's what I called this video..Hahaha..I grew up in Oakland and was smitten by Flint's bbq..I no longer live there but I still have family there. I must go and visit this awesome place and tell others that I know there that might not know this place exists!

Please come back to Fresno! We have a couple good bbq places here but none of them are as comfy and soul touching quite like this place it looks like no offence to Maw N Paws. But honestly i would most definitely love to try there food one day, it looks perfectly amazing. Congratulations to their success and bless their great will and attitudes to get where they are.

The pork ribs are amazing. Tried this place out a few days ago after watching this video. My mom wanted ribs for her birthday and I bought two slabs to try it out. I was very impressed. The ribs taste amazing, you don't even need bbq to enjoy them. It's well worth the two hour drive. Only downside is that oakland is sketchy and the area around here isn't very different, but I met and talked to a bunch of nice people waiting in line.

My first taste of real BBQ (I grew up in No BBQ Central Valley Ca) was when my brother, who was attending school in SF, took me across the bay to Oakland to get some Flints BBQ. I was shocked. The beef links, chopped beef and that BBQ sauce. That was in the late 80’s. Flint’s is long gone and today I wouldn’t step foot in that town.

Watching this video reminds me of when I had visited OAKLAND years ago. OAKLAND is also home to SANFRANSICO and it's on east side where it's not to windy. When my father came back he would always stop off in SANFRANSICO and go to the SANFRANSICO sausage company for salami and Copa. OAKLAND is a very nice place. I like CALIFORNIA in general and going to LOS ANGELES and San Diego, then going to MEXICO. I like the west coast in general. A lot of things to do And see.

I clicked on this video so fast! I will be trying the beef ribs for sure. For the new people, when the host said...'some real BBQ...' I cringed! Homie, real BBQ never left Oakland. BBQ has changed from brick and mortar places to hole in the walls to buying off a truck with the smoker attached. It depends what you like. I'm glad the guy mentioned Flint's... showing some respect to the one that came before. That one on San Pablo! And I'm an Oakland resident with 40 yrs here.

Man, I remember when I was younger my uncle took us to Flint's every time we visited him, it was incredible. It's been about 20 years but I remember the ribs were awesome.

Oakland has bomb ass BBQ vist Everett N Jones. It has been there since the 60s still cooking with oak wood. You can even get the sauce at Safeway in CA I know for sure.
