That’s why there is LinkedIn, or simply they can just call your name. I’ve never had an issue like them not being able to identify me or find me lol. For Pm roles in the UK please NEVER do this

I’m guilty on #5 lol. But my bullet points aren’t too long and I tried to put the most relevant ones that bring out similarity to project management.

Hey! That’s good: if it’s not that relevant just keep it to a couple bullets or just a 2 line summary and you can just take it from there :)- but I still recommend a short quantitive summary at the top

Employer wants a short and position relevant cv. Recruiters wants the entire history. Colorfullness depends if you apply into marketing or into tech. Sometimes a merit portfolio can be important.

First of all not every recruiter see's 100's of resumes a day. In my field they are lucky to see 2 to fill 8 positions. What is your strategy when we can't get near enough people?

Hey! The tips still apply whether they see one CV or lots of CVs. This isn’t a video on recruiting tips. This is for how to enhance your CV (with a focus on project management which is highly competitive right now) … so your statement above doesn’t relate to this video

Yeah some countries still put pictures on the CV. UK removed that as it led to bias from the recruiters, so to keep it anonymous. In Japan they still have pictures, and you also have to put your health status! It's so strange to me, that's just asking people to lie or they won't have a chance.

Well, I have worked in India and people have always told CV's should never have photos. you were guided wrongly, and tbh I have hardly seen anyone having photos on their CV's

Yet these are things I still see on CVs today 😅 I guess people are still making the same mistakes as in the 1980s. But then again I wouldn’t know, I wasn’t even born ☺️

I tend to disagree about photo on CV. Beeing a foreigner who is working in UK few of possible employers could not get from my name and last name if I am a women or a men. I was told couple of times that we are expected to interview a men. So I will have a photo on my CV.

Sure thing. But guarantee you for PM roles in the UK (can’t speak for other places) it is 100% unnecessary. But enjoy !

Fantastic vido! Thank you so much. One question. I had a job that was not project management related recently, i had to work to earn money in that period of time. I want to leave it off the CV, but it will look like a Gapnin Employment. Should I leave it off and have a gap or keep this irrelevant job on there and have no gap? Thank you

Hey hmm, tricky one. I’m tempted to say, if you didn’t work for long, leave it off: if it was over a year, leave it but just don’t expand on it .

Hi, I’ve worked in a project management role at a start up and I want a project management role in the corporate world but, I haven’t gotten a call back from the jobs I’ve applied to. Is there another job title that’s under project management that you would recommend? I just want to get back in the industry.
