I obtained 6 interviews with hiring managers and turned down the Project Manager job since the distance from my house was 70 minutes one way. I have 14 years has PM in working on Cisco projects

The market was perfect for PMs post covid , now unfortunately roles are finite and or just generally have to much competition , ive recently pivoted into cyber security from being a PM as a jr analyst on a daily rate its not great but hoping it will improve . But dont give up though , ive spoken to many recruiters and surprisingly they saying the same thing , keep applying for roles.

PM roles are more than just certificates. You've got to have practical experience in order to sell yourself very well. PM roles are a bit competitive at the moment. As Ire said, you can pursue an entry level role and work your way up. Once you get into a firm at an entry level, you will have the chance to prove your worth and go up the ladder faster. Getting your foot in the door matters the most.
@arniesuperstarКүн бұрын
I totally agree with this video. I've been job hunting for a bit now, but with my experience and certifications in prince 2 and scrum I still get zero progress. So I just knew I had to upskill some more, so I started looking at getting into Salesforce. What's your take though, salesforce developer or data analyst...
@pitolinmotionКүн бұрын
Hey! Keep at it, but at firstly make sure your cv is really strong and is bringing out your current experience well. As for sales force or data analyst. That just depends on what you wonna do, I can’t make that decision for you . I don’t have experience with either tbh

People that go to work just because they want to get money. That really blows my mind. That mindset is beyond low level. Money is nothing. Anyone can get money. I work because there is a change I want to see in the world. I quit my job a few years ago to start a charity to start implementing the change. People thought I was crazy because I make 7 figures. The question - why do I make 7 figures? The vision and the change I want to bring means I strive to know everything. And as I have come to find out - people that know everything get paid big money. In summary - if your motivation is money - you will be left behind. Your motivation has to be bigger. Look at Ire here. Yes her motivation is money - but we can also see her work on KZfaq to empower others. I refer young girls interested in to her channel for knowledge and inspiration. She probably is not aware of this but I have come to have a lot of respect for her. Honestly most of the women in this social media age - I cannot even take a min to have a conversation with. It would be a waste of my time. Anyway back to the topic - if money is your be all and end all - I feel sorry for you. 🙂
@pitolinmotionКүн бұрын
Hey there 👋🏾 Although I understand the sentiment of this comment… I do think part of it is a little tone deaf and unhelpful and you may consider being a bit more delicate with your language in future. You seem to be in a very very privileged position where you have the disposable income to do what you want to do. Whereas if you see the state of the economy, and the fact that many people are on very low salaries/unemployed, with dependants, inflation is very high and people need to provide for their families. In such situations (which is the case for many people) money will be your first priority, and it should be until you are on 50/60k in my opinion. However the nuance in what I was saying in my video is PM is not the most effective way to just get your money up,It is not an easy occupation to get into anymore, and there is a lot more demanded in terms of skills and experience for it to be a get rich quick scheme. If getting money first is your motivation, especially when your skills and experience is not competitive in this market anymore then I think people should look at other avenues I hope that is clear. But shoutout to everyone still grinding, it’s a privilege for your passions to be able to generate income. That should be the goal, but it may take a while (and sacrifice) to get there :)
@m77astКүн бұрын
@@pitolinmotion Hello Pitol - to say to someone you do not know know that He is Tone deaf is rude and quite disrespectful and is not befitting of a properly raised Nigerian woman. I understand that you live in the U.K. that however does not mean you need to disregard the moral values with which your parents have raised you. This is not a dig at you - However you carry a badge of where you are from. Please Carry it properly. Back to the topic at hand. You do not seem to get what I’m saying to you because your mindset is still trapped at the need for money. Let’s put it this way. If you were in Ukraine right now - believe me - money will be the last thing on your mind. Nigeria today cannot rise to take her place on the world stage because the leaders want ALL THE MONEY TO THEMSELVES. This quest / mindset - Thats says money should be b your top priority. If you said God should be your be your top priority Thats fine but that statement makes money a god and the person a slave. That’s sad as It should be the other way round. I did not just say it - I gave examples. I left a job that was paying me 6 - 7 figures to start a charity upskilling, motivating, employing and supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Many of them still tell me how that experience changed their lives. Do you think a £million is more valuable than that? No. At a point when I was running the charity - I went from 7 figures to zero. At one point I remember I could not even afford a £10 train ticket - did that experience affect me? No. I still had happiness and joy but was more determined to make it work. . I wasn’t bothered by it. I learnt the power of sacrifice, I learned how to budget properly as well as how to live on the bare minimum. So it’s about being able to adapt and overcome . Why does money and wealth have to define us. A real man is strong and happy whether he has or he does not. This is what true Freedom looks like. Someone looses his / her job and is overcome by fear and depression - Why? I grew that Charity from zero to the point where we were getting back to back funding from the EU in one year. The lesson here is that People should have goals bigger than themselves - money will follow. Look at Elon Musk - do you think that guy does what He does because of money? He does not. That’s why He is a superior human. He is vision Led not money Led. I am investing a few £millions. The plan is to help reduce the need for abortion among young pregnant women in Africa. Don you think I care about how much money I’m going to make from that? No I’m a visionary. I grew up this way. I guess our viewpoints on the world will be different - That is fine - no two fingers are equal. However please that does not mean you should be disrespectful by calling me tone deaf. All viewpoints and Mindsets cannot be the same. Nevertheless - I still appreciate what you do here on KZfaq. However being disrespectful is usually quite unnecessary. Blessings 🙏🏿

@m77ast lol you know nothing about me. Please do not refer to me in any kind of way like you do. You know nothing about my upbringing, my background. Literally nothing. And it’s irritating that you keep referring to me, my intents, my motivations like you do. I don’t know you, you don’t know me. Let’s make that clear. Tone deaf definition - having or showing an insensitivity or lack of perception particularly in matters of public sentiment, opinion, or taste. As explained this is exactly representative of your comment, and I even took time to explain it. Perhaps you would have perceived this if you decided to digest what I said , instead of being defensive. Either way, my intent wasn’t to offend, but instead help you see another pov. It’s okay to state opinions, as you have done. It’s okay to disagree with them. As I disagree with you. It’s okay. No disrespect. You don’t need to take it that way. Let’s leave it here. And feel free not to comment on my videos in the future.

@@pitolinmotion Hello Pitol. Indeed I don’t know you but what you express and how you express it says volumes about you. By their fruits you KNOW them. Even the nature of this your response is unnecessarily combative. In terms of your definition of / saying that I’m tone deaf - please - it’s disrespectful - you would not say to your boss at work that He is tone deaf, or your parents for that matter. The reason why you won’t is because it’s disrespectful. I naturally have a philosophical mindset. So my views will be different from yours. However my views are always general perhaps relating to what you are saying or comparing it to what is happening in the wider world. This topic that you are talking about is way more important than you know because two things are destroying people today 1) Money and materialism. 2) Feminism. The pulpit of social media means that the sermon is going as far as affecting our young queens in Africa. Marriages / families are being destroyed, platforms like only fans and hook up culture is on the increase - many women looking for rich men over Godly principled ones. Anyway I digress. Viewpoints can differ. Actually a viewpoint might be meaningless to you but meaningful to someone else. So there is no need for name calling. Anyway - Don’t worry about it. That’s all in the past. I do however appreciate your response. Perhaps I was surprised. And as I have said before and I say again. I really really appreciate the content that you put out on KZfaq. Blessings 🙏🏿

I’m normally very busy but I like to comment because I really like what Pitol is doing - the energy and dedication. Alright I have some advice here. A friend got laid off recently. Although He had been with this one company for 17+ years - I was actually surprised at the fear and insecurity He was displaying from losing his Job. I on the other hand have been a contractor for over 15 years now and I can say - I was blown away by his level of skill and talent. He said to me He was afraid because He wasn’t getting jobs. I was initially confused - how can a man with this level of skill a truly hybrid consultant not be able to get work? I asked him to send me his CV and low and behold it was a one pager. 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🙂🙂 Guys your CV is where you sell yourself. My CV is around 12 pages long and I get contracts now without interviews - my CV already makes the employer know that if we don’t get this guy right now someone else might snap him up. In my humble opinion - there is never any such thing as no project management Work. I’m not into PM. I’m in tech but each project I do has multiple PMs. I think the economy / inflation has reduced the number of roles - so the main point here is sell yourself. If you CV is not selling you - then you might be in big trouble. I’m helping my friend with his CV and within 2 weeks He will be in another role. Pitol - still waiting for our meal at the Nigerian restaurant. 😊😀😀 Wish everyone all the best. 🙏🏿🙏🏿 - Blessings.
