Big Ben's first start in hurricane ravaged Miami. That 2004 Hurricane Season was one for the history books.

It's honestly kind of crazy that they played a game in the outer bands of a hurricane. They would never attempt to play in these conditions nowadays.

Thanks for the upload! Big Ben’s rookie year was incredible and the Steelers were the best team during the regular season and going into the playoffs that year. I was hoping to see the Steelers and Eagles play in the Super Bowl, however you can never forget about the Patriots lol.

Glad Tom Brady's finally gone. The Patriots have slowly been falling off without him, and I love it!

Was at this one. Someone gave us their tickets and we moved down to like row 15 at the 40 yd line. Dolphins would only get worse the next couple seasons, but this was a fun game to be at and get soaked.

Steve Levy did the studio for this game from the ESPN studio in Bristol, CT instead of the CBS New York crew.

Steelers vs. Dolphins were supposed to play at 1pm but delayed to the 8:30pm night due to an hurricane the day prior, CBS had to put the regional game on their sister UPN stations in Pittsburgh & Miami as well as (offered by ESPN) on DirecTV's Sunday Ticket outside both areas in order to avoid KDKA (Pittsburgh) & WFOR (Miami) from preempting their regular primetime programming lineup. No reason for the New York studio team at CBS to stay up late to do analysis so they had ESPN to do the halftime show & in-game updates from Steve Levy in Bristol, CT (Chris Berman was doing the regular Sunday Night Football duties Buccaneers vs. Raiders over on ESPN).

This was aired on WKBN in Youngstown, OH (a secondary market for the Steelers). The station left the premiere episode of _Clubhouse,_ a drama series revolving around a teen working as a batboy for a baseball team. It wound up being scrapped by CBS after its fifth aired episode in November of 2004. _Clubhouse_ regularly aired on Tuesdays, and a few of its episodes aired opposite the 2004 MLB playoffs. AXS TV, then known as HDNet, aired the remaining episodes in the summer of 2005.

fun fact of this game, the steelers game was originally not intended to be aired at all in the normal 1pm slot on WKBN as the Browns also had a road game at the same time. WKBN got a rare singleheader double dip@@drewzuhosky6826

This game was moved from its original kickoff time due to the hurricane and was not aired in many markets as a result.

CBS owns stations in Pittsburgh & Miami but they put that game to their sister UPN stations in order to avoid preempting network programming in primetime and also they had ESPN rather than their New York studio team to produced the halftime show & in-game updates from Bristol, Connecticut with an separated host from Steve Levy (Chris Berman was doing the regular Sunday Night Football side on ESPN).

These 2 also played in the mud bowl in 2007 with a 3-0 score. That was in Pittsburgh

Wow look how things have change. Muddy nfl games are now history.Unless we have a worn out torn up grass field with heavy rains, sad state.

"Scouts in awe of his arm strength, still in need of major refining" - Lindy Sports in 2003 on the QB whose legendary Hall of Fame caliber career began with this game. He also had close to a Hall of Fame supporting cast on this and the 2005 teams. 😊

It definitely wasn't low scoring in 2004, that was the year they really restricted illegal contact
