INSIDE OUT MOVIE REACTION! Today I'll be watching a Disney Pixar Animated movie Inside Out released in 2015 for the first time. Watch the ENTIRE Movie with us? Check out: / timotheereacts
Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) is a happy, hockey-loving 11-year-old Midwestern girl, but her world turns upside-down when she and her parents move to San Francisco. Riley's emotions -- led by Joy (Amy Poehler) -- try to guide her through this difficult, life-changing event. However, the stress of the move brings Sadness (Phyllis Smith) to the forefront. When Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley's mind, the only emotions left in Headquarters are Anger, Fear and Disgust.

For me it was when Joy was stuck in the pit, thinking Riley won't ever be happy again, and she says "Do you remember... when she used to stick her tongue out when she was coloring?" I was on the verge a few seconds before that, but THAT line instantly broke / "emotionally sneak-attacked" me (!). In fact: To answer his question he asked everyone at the beginning- I was 30 years old when this came out, but I did not see it until a few years later (at home with my roommates). This was the first movie I can remember ever strongly triggering tears from me (yes, at age ~33). Not only that, it was the first time in my life when I actually felt the link between tears and the feel-good brain endorphins that often get released with them (just "the right balance" of circumstances I guess!). No doubt due to those neurotransmitters etc... I noticed after that movie, I was craving MORE tearjerkers... when all my life PREVIOUSLY, I'd always avoided them and didn't react much to them if I DID see them! At first I was REALLY surprised by that craving... until I did a bit of research and then it actually made sense lol. So, this was THE movie that basically turned me into a "tearjerker seeker" :P

A fact I adore is how the thing Riley is struggling with isn't some big Trauma (TM), seeing how something like moving can affect you, especially when so young - it feels very refreshing and validating for them to focus on that.

One of the most relatable movies ever because it shows the struggle of growing up and getting used to moving away from home. It also shows that sometimes, you need a little sadness in your life.

Crazy thing, in one of the tie in books that tells the film’s story from Sadness’s point of view, there are some moments where she is described as feeling as if…something…is compelling her to try to touch the memories for Riley’s own good…which can easily be interpreted as Riley’s mind subconsciously saying ‘Help me’…

This movie does a great job in teaching you that positivity isn't good to have ALL THE TIME, because it becomes toxic, when you want to express other emotions, so Joy was in the wrong, some sadness is fine to have. Also something to note, while all the emotions are all their selective colors, Joy's hair and eyes are blue, the respective Sadness color, instead of yellow.

Inside Out truly is one of Pixar’s masterpiece films. After Cars 2, Brave and Monsters University didn’t really do well with audiences, Pixar decided to put out this film to get them back on top. And since this studio already made their audience feel multiple emotions, why not just cut out the middle man and make a movie about emotions? It’s actually a very interesting concept, and of course everyone liked it so much it even got a sequel from the success. Honestly, who wouldn’t enjoy this movie?

This movie is INCREDIBLE with color theory. Riley: striped shirt as they're moving with all colors on them to show theyre in harmony, or so it seems. yellow jacket on the first day of school because she's still young enough to be excited. Striped shirt sans blue and yellow at the dinner table because all of her emotions are fighting for control with joy and sadness gone. Black jacket because she's emotionally shutting down. Emotions: joy has blue hair, backing up the theory joy and sadness go hand in hand. Disgust has a purple ascot, suggesting disgust is mainly motivated by what scares us. Anger is wearing a red tie showing how when were angry, we can't see, hear, or feel anything else. Think, "seeing red". And finally Sadness is wearing a white turtleneck as a combination of all the emotions, like how all light is combined to make white light.

Inside Out was a really good movie and knew to show the hard transition between childhood and teenage. Riley's situation hits really my heart and characters are fun and sometimes offer also really emotional moments. Bing Bong's death is just sad and Joy has an evolution quite well written. Inside Out is definitely one of Pixar's best movies. It’s not afraid to tackle topics such as anxiety and depression. As a person who’s been suffering from both things it really hits home for me. I was in a very depressive state a few years and I decided to watch this movie in my depressed state. So it did help a little a bit. Life is full of ups and downs. We can never be happy all the time if we were always happy all the time then we would never know what true happiness is.

2:45 - When we are babies our brain is still constantly developing. Before about the age of 3 we lack the ability to commit actual conscious thought to our long term memory, thus the earliest memory most people have will be around the age of 3. Our brain is still developing habits though, and creating the neural pathways it will use to learn and make memories as we grow beyond the age of 3. So this is why people who are exposed to this such as music, and/or art, and/or languages as babies will have an easier time learning and appreciating those things as an adult. Also why someone who is exposed to trauma as a baby may develop aversions or anxiety to whatever that trauma is despite not consciously remembering it. So the memories are in there, you just can’t remember them as conscious thoughts.

Y’know looking back more grown up, this movie doesn’t really hold up as well, and feels very childish now. lol I’m just kidding, this movie holds up phenomenally and is still one of Pixar’s best. The sequel should have a hard time matching the exact same emotions this one had, but I am still excited for it, and is very much deserved

Inside Out is a really excellent movie 💙💚💙 I love the story and the characters of course especially Sadness who was my favourite ❤️, I also love how relatable it is too and I also like how it gives you teaches you all different lessons like you can’t always be happy and joyful all the time you need to have sadness and the different other emotions in your life to be healthy and to really grow as person and thats what Joy learned. Loved the reaction you guys and hopefully the sequel is as good as the first one was 😁 and I can’t wait to see your reaction to that 😁😉
