what is YOUR favorite pixar short?

Saw the title before the thumbnail. My immediate thought was "he better be talking about Piper" I was pleased.

This short film is honestly so lovely

1:24 is one of the most disturbing things I’ve ever seen.

5:50 the way the music line right up with the crab pinching the beak was perfect 😂

I only saw Piper once, but I’ll never forget when it came on in theatres. I was blown away by the lighting and the particle animation. Also the main bird is so cute!

Love this short film. Pixar always excels at these. All the creativity, cleverness, and care going into these films all in under 30 minutes. (I mean they excel in general but yeah lol).

The thing that I loved about Piper is the way they animated the sand and water with their interactions Animating recently wet sand with its transition to becoming dry was superb

I remembered seeing this for the first time, it was just before the film, and piper was much more compelling and beautiful than the idea behind finding dory

I wish more Pixar movies could re-invent animation with more of these realism cgi style animation. It’s so magical to homage the discovery of those little details as a child.

I remember attending a Q&A years ago hosted by a couple of the animators who worked on this short. It was really interesting watching them explain the themes of the animation and the process of how they created it. I'm glad to see you've made a video on this fantastic film.

I think my favorite Pixar short hands down is Piper. It is one of the cutest things that I've ever seen in my life.

My favorite since I was child has always been the one man band. I love how much it describes emotions with no words. It is quite a theme in Pixar’s shorts and that’s why I love them

While on this journey, Disney’s protagonist is paired up with a character with opposing views and values from their own. However, together the unusual pair reach a middle ground through the act of understanding one's point of view. With understanding, the two subsequently secure progressive growth. In my humble opinion, this is why Piper the short film and Zootopia the movie are my favorites from Disney since they perfect Disney’s true magic. If you haven’t watched either one, I recommend that you do. We’re in quarantine, what’s stopping you.

ANOTHER SHORT FILM THAT CAME OUT FROM PIXAR THE SAME YEAR WAS A FILM CALLES BORROWED TIME. IN MY OPINION I THOUGHT IT DESERVED THE OSCAR FOR BEST SHORT FILM. MANY THOUGH HAD DEEMED IT TOO DARK AND DEPRESSING FOR PIXAR AND ULTIMATELY GAVE THE OSCAR TO PIPER INSTEAD. ITS WORTH THE WATCH THOUGH AND I THINK ITS REALLY UNDERRATED
