It'd be a missed opportunity if the rival company, Fear Co., doesn't scare children from under their beds.

The biggest difference between this and something like Megamind vs the doom syndicate is that 1. this is NOT made by Pixar, it’s made by Disney’s own tv animation studio which is separate from the OG studio unlike “Megamind 2”which was made by a different overseas division of Dreamworks or “cars on the road” which was made by Pixar itself 2. THIS at least tries by keeping the OG voice cast and getting actual celebrities for guest cast for its characters and not just getting bad impressionists so that it’s at least charming in that way to properly have the characters back. I enjoyed season one myself and am looking forward to season 2!

I don’t know how to feel. Truth be told I hated season 1. I dreamed each new episode. Until the finale. I loved the finale. It wasn’t one of those cases where it gave me a fresh new perspective and I found an appreciation for the rest, I still didn’t like it, but the finale was incredible. The question is, is one amazing episode in a batch of bad ones justifying of another batch. If I use the buy, sell, rent format, at best I’m renting this on discount, with borrowed trust from the finale.

I really enjoyed the show. I wait every Wednesday for a new episode.

In the first episode Tylor wants to be a scarer and has to learn how to transition into being a jokester when Mike and James have changed Monsters Incorporated after Henry Waternoose went to prison, but it takes the entire first season for him and Val to get started on that when they enter at the mechanics department. For most of the first season, Tylor practices his joking skills and does things with Celia Mae, Ms. Flint, James P. Sullivan or Mike Wazowski (from the original Monsters Inc. film) to win over them in hopes that they will promote him to being a jokester. In the end, he finally gets there, but he also is ashamed of leaving behind Cutter, Duncan, Fritz and Val until they also have additional jobs to help out him and the other monsters on the laugh floor. Season 1 could not be a sequel to Monsters Incorporated because - it is intended to take place before the end of Monsters Inc, when James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski are just starting to re-brand their company with laugh energy, and there is a new assortment of five characters to replace the Oozma Kappa characters from Monsters U. because they already have full-fledged scare cards. Despite not seeing James or Mike again in the original Monsters Inc. film, their scare cards imply they have already moved beyond the entry-level jobs of the M.I.F.T. ensemble cast that was introduced as the new focal characters of Monsters at Work. The Season 1 finale connects to the end of Monsters Inc. by re-rendering animation from the final scene, but also finds a natural way to include the new Monsters at Work cast into what we already saw in Monsters Inc. without contradicting it. Season 2 has more flexibility and liberty to be the sequel story to Monsters U. and Monsters Inc. that we expect Monsters at Work to be, as more Monsters U. characters return and we see what they are doing at the rival companies Fear Co. or Scare Tech. I always wanted a sequel to Monsters inc. (my favorite childhood movie hands down) so when I saw that there was a spin off sequel I loved it! The show even explained why the abominable snowman got banished. He saw blueprints of the scream extractor while working with all the mail

I really think they should bring back Waternoose. Considering his family is very wealthy and influential, he can get top lawyers who can potentially keep him out of prison, and would probably try to retake his company from Mike and Sulley. A new legal arc with Mike and Sulley against Waternoose would be an interesting new subplot, covering the realities of corruption, law, morality, and politics.

Me and my friend absolutely loved watching the first season purely based off of how low quality it was 😂 Sully legit always looked/sounded like a pedo and the animation was sooo cheap and glitchy 😂

The animation is done by a VFX company in Vancouver rather than India like most of these shows tend to be. This was their first animated show , it shows it had a higher budget but some effects/textures are scaled back

Season 1 was mid and blank, about basically nothing. But Season 2 looks like it will have central conflict, rivalry and maybe, just maybe, hidden bigger plot. Can't wait to see it! I am a big MI and MU fan, so I just need some new episodes about life in this universe!

This is fairly good by the standards for a TV show

One thing the trailer presents is that it covers the fact about their world still largely depend on Fear power. Their entire educational system still only teach Fear production and not Laughter production. Season 1 ended right where the Monster Inc. movie ended which shows them doing well but one major aspect of their issues that obviously will not be easy to resolve is their society's dependency on Fear power.

I can't wait because i want to know if I was right or wong beacons my favorite characters is alive or not his name is randall and i feel like he still out there planing his next Revenge or he might truning into a good guy.

I liked the first season but it gave birth to something that I called 'the Mike and Sully Problem' - it means the stuff featuring characters you have seen in something else before has such good material to work with that the main plot feels pretty small in comparison! I don't hate the Tyler and friends but the Mike and Sully stuff was much more entertaining. The other example of this is in the Book of Bobo Fett where the Mandalorian had better material than that of its main star and focus

I enjoyed season 1. Just great to reenter the Monsters world. Kind of felt like The Office version of Monsters Inc. It unfortunately has the Disney Junior animation for the human kids, but the monsters look fine

Why am I here?

This is actually not a Pixar series. It's not made by Pixar and thus in it's marketing material & on Disney+ not Pixar branded. I've heard good things about it's first season though and it must have resonated enough with audiences to get a 2nd season. But important to say that this isn't and wasn't in Season 1 made by Pixar.

Pixar used to be known for pushing new CGI technology while telling (mostly) great stories.

I recently just found out about this show. Yes, there is a downgrade on the cinematic to casual watch quality. Some character are what they are suppose to be, respectfully. I do like the shrugging-juggle between Taylor being a scarer or a jokester. It get very tense to know that he offered better at FEAR Co, but he also low key nested at Monster Co. The introduction to new monster is cool! It feel they’re just like us, humans lol! I mean, it not as “wow” like snowman monster or camouflage arch-rival on the movie.. Overall for me, this based of movie show is tolerable.
