Personally I like that the iPhone has a warmer tone for pictures where as the Pixel has a cooler tone. I have really pale skin so the blue tone that the Pixel gives off makes me look dead.

Great video! Very informative, I switched from the iPhone 6+ to the pixel 3 xl and I was wondering what I was missing from the new iPhone XS and you answered my questions! I'll still be sticking with my pixel, SURPRISINGLY, I thought I was going to go back and get the iPhone after 5 days of trying the pixel out, but I do feel more free with the pixel in other aspects than I did with the iPhone, and I quite enjoy it. Anyway thanks!

Pixel needs to up their video recording game, I'm not a iPhone fan at all, but even I have to agree iPhone is the clear winner for video recording.

Video: iphone by far Front camera: pixel by far back camera: subjective. the pixel has more true to life colors while iphone is more aesthetically pleasing due to the saturation.

I'm shocked!! The iPhone was actually the better camera overall, specially in video mode, the audio recording was awful on the Pixel. I thought the Pixel was the king of camera, guess I was wrong.

I hate to say this , but overall I do prefer the iPhone , and that’s weird . I was thinking the pixel 3 would blow everything away just like the pixel 2 did . But that wasn’t the case . Did anyone notice how unnatural the selfies looked , I mean way too over sharpened !

I much preferred the pixel selfies because they were considerably sharper but idk man apple did a good job

Love ur videos and specially ur camera comparisons. Just 2 requests if i may, 1) let the viewers also know which video or photo was more true to life aling with mentioning warmer and cooler tones. 2) start recording ur videos in 2:1 aspect ratio. Gone are the days when ppl watched u tube in a dedicated PC and most phones coming out these days have the 2:1 aspect ratio.

The iPhone XS's camera looks better, but the Pixel 3's camera is more accurate/real.

Fantastic camera review! After this, it seems that both are excellent choices. I would be very interested to see how the night shot mode ends up on the pixel. Could really be a choice maker for some if it's amazing.

This is the best comparison i've seen!! I'm really interested in cameras/video on the phones - specifically speed of portrait mode -- I miss so many pics of my two year old because portrait mode on the iPhone X has that horrible delay. Wondering if it is still there with the upgraded chip of the Xs Max. Also really interested in camera comparison of Huwei P20 Pro vs Xs Max - from what i've heard Huwei P20 blows the iphone away, but I have never seen as good a comparison as yours - so does it really?? Huwei is also supposed to be phenominal in low light, so would like to add it and iPhone Xs Max to your longer low light camera comparison. Can't wait to see your next videos. This was tremendous and super helpful.

I entered the video while im 100% sure that the pixel is going to dominate the iphone , but I've never been so surprised from a camera comparison before The iphone won that clearly (except front facing photos )

WTF did they do with the 3xl's recording? It didn't sound stereo recording at all! Even 2xl or the generation 1 had better audio recording algorithm!

My preference are the pixel images. They are sharper and more in focus. Many of the iphone images had blown out parts. It's much easier to recover from underexposure than overexposure.

Video recording iPhone is the BEAST

The iPhone *crushed* the Pixel in video and audio recording, and also the daylight shots were better on iPhone from the rear camera. I think this year Apple really stepped up their game and the only thing Google came up with was that hideous *NOTCH* on the XL. #disappointment PS: I am no Apple fanboy, it's actually the opposite, but credit should be given where it's due.

Absolutely GREAT comparison. Was seriously in doubt if I should switch to google or stay with an iPhone upgrade and your comparison has answered so many questions I had (meaning... I'll stay with the iPhone mostly for the audio, warmer tones and the google is too sharp making the image have more of a rough look). Thank you!

Much closer than I thought. I think rear facing camera was better on the iPhone, and front goes to Pixel 3. But the audio, wow, Pixel 3 is not great. And I'm an android fan. Props to Apple

I don't really like iPhones but I am truth, so I can say iPhone is better in recording video, most of photos daylight and lowlight. Did Pixel 3 xl have a downgrade?Excellent comparisson man.

I have a question for you. I have a Samsung Galaxy s7 edge with VR . Which i bought in 2016. But in this time many phones are releasing like IPhone x max, Samsung galaxy note 9, Google pixel 3xl. So should i have to exchange my Samsung galaxy s7 edge with VR or go with it. If i have to exchange my phone so what phone should you recommend is it iPhone x max or note 9 or pixel 3xl. iPhone feels too warm and pixel feels too cool color. But for photos pixel 3 produce better color but for video iPhone completely destroyed it.

I’m actually surprised the iPhone did as well as it did as everybody is raving about the pixel three. I think the colour temperatures are down to preference like you have mentioned it’s like the old days when you had to choose between different types of film for colour preferences. The iPhone Xs seems to be a more complete package, in combination of picture taking and video recording, than the Pixel 3.

Finally there is your, honest review ! I say finally because all the other KZfaqrs has tweaked the settings and make Iphone XS looks better than professional DSLR which i really don't like to see. We need the truth and you always deliver. I am really grateful man, you are the best !

Are we gonna just ignore how processed the images look in the Pixel 3 though? Like your forehead details look a little burnt or something. Great comparison though. The iPhone is up the challenge this year and even more capable in the video recording area.

IMO the HDR+ is too aggressive on this year's Pixels. Hopefully they'll address this in a software update. iPhones HDR implementation is better. Also, Google can't offer 4K 60 (even though the hardware supports it) because of their EIS (can't compensate for shake and maintain 60fps), which is sad because iPhones 4K 60 with OIS, looks amazing.

Very nice video Saf.. Although I have a point near 4:17 you can see the pixel's hdr over processing near your forehead.. thats because its tending to lower the brightness of the sky and in doing it also under exposed your forehead... iPhone XS looks softer cuz of small sensor for front camera and noise reduction makes it softer. but pigmentation iPhone did it uniform compared to pixel... Also in the lowlight photo you showed at 8:54 pixel has more moire which happens when you increase the shadows of under exposed areas aggressively and reduce the black levels and perform noise reduction.. You can see this effect more in the night sky and dark areas like you've shown... Both are incredible cameras in my opinion but that moire makes a photo un-useable if your more into photography...

First minute the iphone really impressed me , took the pixel to school with one exception , skin tone.
