Its crazy how in 2001 i would wake up, turn my pc on, brew a pot of coffee, use the restroom, get some water, and come back to my computer for it to still be booting up and now we're complaining it takes 0.5s to get into our phones.

I am new to your reviews and I am liking them a lot. The description you gave of the real strengths to the Tensor is one of the best I have seen, and you do understand about photography and make pertinent comparisons, which is not too common with other reviewers and reviews sites.Your list of drawbacks is also very good, and these are things which will matter in actual use. Particularly the battery life, if there is anything keeping me from getting the Pixel 6 is that. If I may add a few problems which are not often mentioned but can be a deal breaker for some: 1) Google deliberately prevents their phones, including the Pixel 6, to stream video and audio to HDMI via a dongle. This is because they want users to use their chromecast instead. But this is limiting. Latency over chromecast (wifi essentially) is high. So one cannot for instance run a steam link on the phone to stream games to a projector over LAN, because latency will cause problems. Similarly, someone simply wanting to display a presentation or other material via hdmi will be unable to. Admittedly not a lot of people will need that. But if they do, finding up that their expensive tech marvel cannot do what a few hundreds bucks phone can, and knowing that it is a deliberate choice from Google.. Well, it leaves a bit of bitter aftertaste. 2) Google implementation of audio streaming prevents some dongles and devices to receive audio. For instance your average wired phone adapter on amazon or similar will not work with this Pixel. It is possible to find compatible adapters and they are not too expensive. But the problem will affect high end DAC too, external audio interfaces which musicians might like to use on the go, and similar. Again, not necessarily a common scenario, but finding out that your high tech phone is designed so to prevent you from doing these basic things which any cheap handset can do.. It does not feel so good.

Pixels are the only Android phones which uses their camera capabalities in the third party apps via pixel core. That should be a big selling point but no one seems to focus on that

Having watched half a dozen tech reviewers, you are the best. Good content, objective reviews. There is no need for things like jumping onto the chair, jumping into the camera or jumping anywhere. Just go MKBHD style and you will never go wrong.

As somebody who has dabbled in photography since the days of film, $300 seems pretty reasonable for a piece of telephoto glass. That said, my Nikon still does a lot of stuff Pixel can't. Other side: Nikon can't call 911 when I fall off that ledge.

I think what I like best about Marques' videos, is that he can take a phone or os you've never heard of or basically know nothing about, answers all the questions you have about a new phone, plus all the ones you never even thought to ask, and keeps it condensed in a fairly short, digestible, easy to follow video, leaving no point unspoken about. Honestly the only reason I watch other videos about tech is to compare and contrast different perspectives other people have about those features. (This is all incredibly helpful for me, because I have to use a lot of tech for my hobbies and job, but up until recently have been completely tech spec illiterate 😅 so these videos really catch me up to pace,)

great vids man. I'm personally not worried about some of the issues reported on the pixel 6 and 6 pro as i feel they would be fixed with future updates. I was wondering which phone out of the pixel 6 Pro, z flip 3, z fold 3, and S21 Ultra you would recommend for the best call quality and best cellular signal strength? I spend alot of time in deadzones so i need something that'll power through and get me bars when other phones may struggle or fail. My wife's iphone 13 pro, while great, doesn't do too well in those circumstances so i was really curious on your thoughts

So what Marques is saying is that you can get a 7/10 to 10/10 camera experience sans the zoom lens on a $600 phone. That's a great deal.

In France prices are so different cause of taxes. Pixel 6 Pro remains at 899€ However iPhone 13 Pro Max or S21 Ultra cost 1259€… So Pixel 6 Pro, on the Android side at least, is a way better deal in France than in the US !

I am a fairly poor tech nerd so I am usually a flagship or 2 behind those richer than me, just got my brand new Pixel 6 and I love it, huge upgrade from the 4a I had, incredible photography, great videos, plays games like diablo 4 and wild rift on max settings at 60 FPS, good battery life, beautiful screen, 5G and just an all round great device. Oh and for those looking for a phone to vlog with or film , edit and upload KZfaq videos, the pixel phones have optical and digital image stabilisation for insanely good videos, the mic is actually better than most and with 5g you can upload your your vids waaay faster. even the pixel 4a has an incredible camera for filming with fantastic image stabilisation. You can go for a run while filming with a pixel phone and it will very gently and subtly move up and down. While Google make phones I will never buy another brand.

Everyone making these so called Pixel 6/6 Pro reviews spend 90% of the video talking about the camera and that 10% they’ll just read the specs. You really went into depth of how it functions battery life etc. Great review I’ll be scooping mine up tomorrow and see how much i like it.

I just got my pixel 6 pro and I am absolutely loving it, I am used to iphones but this phone completely changed my mind.

Even though photos may look a tad too tonemapped sometimes, I bet in the blind photo comparison, average person will pick those vs flat realistic shots

Can I just say that I think those photos look great? If that's what google's processing thinks I want my photos to look like, well, it's right. This is, as always, an absolutely wonderful review.

I bought the pixel 6 after watching this, as for the price it just seemed like a no brainer. The biggest drawback seemed like the battery not being much better. I've been using the phone for a few weeks now and I'm completely mystified by the comments in this video. As an example I've just been using my phone (games / streaming) for over 2 hours on a train, with loads of apps open, Bluetooth location everything on, and it's barely made a dint in the battery. It's on 81% and wasn't full when I left. Thought this should be said as the review is super misleading

I actually like that the internet and mobile data are on the same button. As someone who deals with older people pretty often it would definitely help for explaining where the movile data setting is.

A very fair assessment of a flawed yet great phone. I've just ordered one as an upgrade from my trusty pixel 3 and I'm really looking forward to trying all the new features out!

it's interesting, I've learned over the years that what smartphone reviewers prioritise and the whole tech reviewer culture is a lot different from mine in some ways. So the things that reviewers bang on about a lot in what they do and don't like are different to the lived experience for me. At least you appreciate good alternate phones to the big players such as Xperia and Pixel. I'm also a fairly simple user. I don't use screen lock, find it a chore, can't be bothered with face or fingerprint ID etc. Am happy to pin lock sensitive apps and log in every time to PayPal etc. I find a good keyboard layout and autocorrect for example more important than a lot of the things reviewers care about. Notches, bezels, I never cared about these things. I do love a great camera and speakers though. What this is leading to is re Android 12, I generally agree with you as you mentioned on a review, really like it, a couple of little quirks though that Google have done I find really irritating are you dismiss a notification and they send it back straight away, such as phonecall notifications and also putting their weather notifications at the top of your notifications. But they're nowhere near as bad as some of the terrible, counterintuitive functionality design decisions Facebook have made with notifications and page/group access on their app. So yeah, Android 12 is great but those couple of things are irritating and very intrusive.

I’ve been using my Nexus 6P as a developer phone since 2015. I go back to it every couple months to install new roms or new custom software… I’ve always loved the visor… definitely picking the pro up from AT&T tomorrow.

I've had similar problems with the night sight on the pixel 5, I usually just find a filter that reverts some of the darkness from my night shots. Sometimes it works very well and other times I am retaking the shot dozens of times until it does turn out.

My 6 pro is too slippery to hold lol, case hopefully arrives today 🤞
