The Vivo V29 can even snap decent looking pics in near darkness thanks to the Aura Light flash. This is brighter than before with full manual control over the colour temperature.
As well as a cracking camera, this mid-range phone also boasts good performance and dependable battery life. You have the FunTouch OS so the Vivo V29 is packed with good gaming features, and the likes of Genshin Impact can run on medium detail with a smooth frame rate (just don't bump the graphics to high).

@Techspurt can you help me ive had the s20fe 5g for over 2 years now and its showing its age so ive tried so many options but all of them burn my eyes and cause head aches, ive tried the iphone 14 pro max the s23 ultra and plus the google 7 pro screen was fine but to big and had major software issues and the sony xperia 1v all been no good i desperatley need to upgrade but i dont know where to go next please help!

Pro tips : Just wait for about 5-6 months if you want to get vivo products. They usually drop the price quite a bit

@unholydonuts i got myself vivo29 just yesterday, coming from Galaxy Z Flip3 which i dropped, lol, i was amazed by Vivo's screen quality and build design, compare to Xiaomi 13T, and i just can't stand that MIUI interface. I think Vivo's funtouch OS is the closest one to Samsung's One UI among other Chinese brands UI like oppo, xiaomi, realme. My biggest complain on v29 was the mono speaker.

£450 and no stereo speakers and an old chipset (2 and a half years old to be precise). Sounds exactly like Vivo! But at least the screen and the IP68 rating are a very welcome surprise. For those of you wondering (guess not many actually...), Vivo decided to skip 2 numbers in their V-series- V21,V23,V25,V27,V29...you can be sure the next ones are V31,V31 Pro and whatever else they come up with.

One thing I've noticed in your reviews is that you report that you get higher performance than I would expect in Genshin Impact. Like, on my Pixel 6 Pro I need to play it on low/medium to get rid of most of the stutters and frame dips at 30 fps. Even then, there is still shader compilation stutter and whatnot. Yet, I see your reviews on mid range phones with chipsets just below the Tensor G1 in capabilities saying the game runs fine of the default settings (medium preset). I'm just going to choc it up to your "knackered old peepers" not perceiving the frame dips while a young person like me is more sensitive to things like this.

Yeah, those are arguably better than this mediocre smartphone. I don't get it why people pay so much for it when they can get old premium devices at the same price.

My guess is that some people are just afraid of buying a refurbished or an used older device, because in some cases they won't give you a warranty at all. I'd still recommend everybody to check older devices rather than buying the latest mid-ranger, because in most cases, the older device will be better in almost every single way (excluding updates and warranty). If you take care of your phone, you won't really be needing that warranty at all.

@@PavanKumar-ft5hi Also, I'd say some influencers are guilty of luring people to buy the latest overpriced mid-ranger. You don't see many big KZfaq stars make vids about older flagships or even recommend them. For example, I've seen quite a lot of fellas recommend the Galaxy A54 and the Pixel 7A, both good phones, but they never say that you can also get the Pixel 6 Pro or the S21+/S21 Fe/S21 Ultra for the same price.

Actually it's depends where you live , in my country (which is quite sad and frustrating if I'm thinking about it) V29 is around 400$ , while P6 pro , S21 ultra still around 500 to 700 $ depends on condition. 😂😂 and s21 ultra in my country there's a problem where main camera can't autofocus, and pixel series doesn't even official in here.

I bought Vivo V29 a few months ago. Just wanted to mention what bothered me: 1) the display curve around edge as a result the screen protector is not working well. So no need to put on the screen protector. It would just be a waste of money. 2) the reflection from the screen bothers my eyes. Fortunately I'm not a frequent user of mobile phone. So I can put up with it. 3) It doesn't have a headphone jack. So you'd need either bluetooth earbuds, wireless speakers or a USB type c to audio USB adapter for your wired head phone. 4) It doesn't have a micro SD slot. You would just need to use OTG or other ways to transmit data. Other than the above, it's a good phone. Would I buy it if I had known the above (especially #1 and #2), I probably wouldn't.
