veteran here, I've been playing this game for years on other accounts and nowadays its almost unplayable without paying you showed the prices for weapons at level 3, but it gets so so much worse. I'm currently at level 38 out of 65 and there's weapons that go for 1 165 coins, mind you that you get 4 coins every top scoring match. if you spend the coins on weapons, you wont have the money for armor and will die instantly. if you spend it on armor, your weapons will be too weak for actual game play. the weapons work like this, the Efficiency number is MEANINGLESS, as each weapon is strong mostly depending on rarity. each player level above the weapon's level imposes a 10% damage reduction on it, and the only ways to alleviate it was by abusing the lottery and trader's van to get weapons for free/cheap in-game currency, but nowadays all they give out is parts so you'll never have properly leveled weapons, or the weapon is ridiculously priced in gems. the system is rigged agaisnt you unless you wanna grind "dime-store Squid Game" and "dead city raid", you can't level up without being forced to shell out some cash to be able to afford usable gear, and its clear they only ported the game to PC in hopes of preventing the game dying for just a few more months

Biggest problem of the game that from level 10 you can already get into games with very experienced players that will smoke you with their (3 cat spams) and rocket jumps It’s impossible to get into a game with everyone the same level as you

So the situation is that you CAN become the best of the best without paying (or as you would say "f2p") but very recently the game has gone down the absolute shitter, it will 100% die in a month or two

some people may say i suck but i see every match as chaotic upon entering. only 20% of players play fairly, 60% spam op weapons and the last 20% are underexperienced. it's a crime that so many guns need to be upgraded continuously compared to the upg1 - upg2 upgrade system. the battle pets are just annoying. i started playing since late 2014 and feel sad that i witnessed my childhood game get torn apart for money. cubic games or rilisoft just ruined it for themselves and every player that wants to play fairly.

cycle goes as this -> new flashy weapon that can one-shot, then gets nerfed or out-damaged by other weapons. New weapons get added again with even more flashy aesthetics that can also one-shot, then gets nerfed after a bit and the cycle continues. Been playing this game since 2014, the cycle started around 2016-2024 with the introduction of the Mythic variety class of weapons, it's a constant cycle of endless grinding or paying to get the next best weapon to win games. Only reason I returned to this game is because my loadout is still somewhat viable, but I've noticed the meta is either one-shot weapons or spamming of AOE+Elemantal. This game is heavily P2W late game when you pass level 30, as a level 65(max level) I struggle to even make progress when the same types of players spam some one-shot weapon or AOE explosive gun, this game isn't about skill it's about who has the better guns and who has spent the most money, unless you played enough back then when it was much easier to grind and the P2W mechanics weren't a problem(around 2014-2016)

Another major detail about this game is that semi automatic n fully automatic weapons are so weak, you gotta use heavier weapons now. Shotguns , snipers, heavy blasters, rail guns, charged shot weapons, anything that shoots a strong blast .

So essentially, for the context, they charge £100 for the least rare currency in the game (coins) which can barely help you buy all the weapons you'll unlock until level 35 (65 is the cap), yet people who prefer different playstyles would still want to stick to the weapons they already have and even rank them up with gems... Yet even then you have to pay extra for only LEVELING them up, which is useless cuz you'll still go against players with event weapons which are both better mechanics and stats wise for every category. Plus they nerf the same ones 2-3 updates later to release more new stuff that begins strong and gets nerfed again, except for 1-3 shot snipers called SHOTGUNS.... Yes, this game doesn't even have a proper shotgun pellet mechanic anymore, 1 pellet can deal the same damage as 7 others. They usually do this to make people think the game has lost its P2W title, when it is actively milking money from kids that play on mobile and watch skibidi-toilet ads just to get 20-40 extra gems daily, yet they still pay from their mums' credit cards anyways so what was the point in making this a mobile game? It even had a PC only version called Pixel Gun World which was not pay to win at all. 2-3 hours of grinding would pretty much give you the same result as the £100 purchase in this port...

Low levels is, may be, stabe, at some point, but from most of my friends i've heard, you are nothing if not have at least one legacy mythical weapon at LEVEL 65, like Anti-Champion Rifle, and new guns are always OP there is nothing to talk about much, its just fact, straight paid weapons is always have 2 or 1 shot kill

Most of them you won’t be paying 50 pounds for, as there are usually offers in the store, If u wait for the event u can grind to get them for free, but even if you buy them, it will be a LOT cheaper than 50, probably around 9 pounds. It is still very much pay to win, but much cheaper than it seems as most of the time the prices are from 4 to 9 pounds. Another point about the efficiency thing is that when you unlock a weapon, you get it at the efficiency of your level, so once you are max level 65, everything you unlock is gonna be at max efficiency, so it is worth not buying anything until then as when you are a low level, it is much easier to get f2p guns or upgrade guns to your level.

Short answer, YES IT IS p2w since the starter pack and the gun level system makes you tweak most of the time

If you have played before and have an account it’s worth playing but only for a limited time. Once you start to lvl up that’s when it gets unfair. Hit lvl 50 and your matched with late end game players with max mods/armor/weapons. New accounts might as well not exist

having those op guns do make gameplay more enjoyable

This game has 100% fallen from what it used to be. Its still "fun" but I find it annoying to just get instantly killed by some scumbag lobby wiping everyone because he spent money...

The new pixelman (mascot) design you see plastered everywhere with that unending smile looks so soulless, the irony is that when he was more pixelated he had more of a personality. i personally dont worry so much about the p2w, maybe thats because im accustomed to long bouts of work everywhere in life, but i have a plethora of weapons with wonderful designs that are basically maxed out (save for an excruciating 900 gem upgrade from the red/legendary class to purple/mythical class, it used to be 1500 gems!) and still can't compete with the new weapons, which can pierce through walls with no damage loss, and still have 1 shot potential, not forgetting the addition of X-ray items in the game. I have some of the best weapons from earlier years, from being the best of the best on tournaments, the old clans, from old previous maximum levels, all of these old weapons are not maintained to be kept up with the newest flashiest offers, and some of us WANT to use the old weapons because of nostalgia or because they feel nice to play with. Efficiency is the most ridiculous feature in this game, because levelling up makes your weapons efficiency worse. they LOSE damage as you level up, and you're forced to play with either a select few weapons to upgrade, make your progress slower by using the low efficiency weapons or shell out your in-game currency that you could be using for other purchases instead. i have an electric christmas themed thompson submachine gun which i LOVE (the laser assistant) yet it deals less damage on MAX mythical efficiency then most RARE weapons. it hasn't recieved a buff in 2, almost 3 years. i even have a youtube comment that got a HEART from the developer team, and there have been two balance changes since which haven't addressed the weapon in question. I Will admit, i have spent some money on the game, but only once on gambling. after that i learned my life lesson and only spent money on weapon designs i loved (not $50, i waited for outright absurd currency deals like $1 for 2000 gems) and my most recent purchase was during the 10 year anniversary as a congratulationss. the game has only devolved so much since even then and while i think my spending habits were healthy and reasonable, it cannot change the malicious tactics that are currently being used which i outright refuse to support. If i could take over the game and be given the opportunity to balance it, i would take that chance and run with it. but considering how the game is being treated i don't think the devs would support my vision. I would like to apologize for such a long blown out comment, but you do really do feel the need to talk when something you care about has fallen so far.

Seeing the state of this game now is heartbreaking honestly. I loved playing it back in middle school, and all the weapons were earnable through grinding. It wasn't until gems were added that the game became heavily pay to win. For reference, the newest guns were only unlockable via gems which you could grind for (I think?) but the process was insanely slow compared to when weapons only costed coins

In general: Gems are EXTREMELY hard to get, missions just to get them are only daily, and barely give any, and there's no garuntee a mission will be there on that day, and also, good luck trying to complete most of them, because with these p2w people, it's near impossible to complete for some of them. Oh yeah! And also- coins are barely given out. Usually a person only gets 2 coins per round or so (Gems aren't obtainable, less you have a booster (barely gives any, has per round use) or find a gem in a map). More if you have a booster (They usually give out XP boosters)- which you need to pull from leveling up (Not guaranteed), loot boxes, or a daily reward. Also, you have to spend EVEN MORE coins/gems to make your armor/weapons/pets stronger, which is SUPER expensive. Then there's the events- when events occur, the weapons are OP as heck usually, and EXTREMELY hard to obtain without money, and is usually tedious, only for them to be nerfed later on. Ah yes- and pets give you boosts, but are hella expensive to train and/or obtain. OHHH, may I not forget, there's also "parts", and the only way to get parts you may ask? Use money, and gamble with the loot boxes. These parts make weapons, items for the "Royal" mode, and a few other things. So yes- the game is heavily pay to win. I'm gonna add, they start you off easy, easily getting easy tasks done, then after some time, they throw ridiculous stuff, and make it really difficult to get gems or coins, and also throw you with p2w players. In the beginning, they put you with beginner people, until you reach a certain level. Relating to parts, if the event ends, oh well! You gotta get those tickets in the gallery- and with that you'll have to buy weapons... And once you buy the cheap ones, there's the crazy expensive guns. To anyone wanting a better game, I recommend Pixel Strike 3D. It's fun, not p2w, balanced, and the modes and experience is phenomenal.

As a guy who’s been playing the game since the magic bow was a thing and stopped after the BR mode came out, it is still really bad without spending including that right now it looks like there’s a lot of newbies coming into the game giving new players a better experience and chance to play without getting obliterated.

It’s a pain tolerance test, so it gets extremely stingy at the endgame. The game is probably the most fun from level 10 and stops after level 30 or so. The currency micro transactions are also very grubby, 150 coins for $1 is nothing. You can buy a coke with that money instead. They have more currencies than the confederate USA during the Civil War. But it’s mostly the guns and loot boxes with their literal lottery tickets that are going to get you. The best guns and armor are locked behind gambling in limited time events and if you want them after, then I hope you have some money to burn. The gallery does sort of help with its own tickets system but they should really just have the old system where you can buy almost any weapon any time you want and get them in a few hours of play. Now they have all this crafting and other stuff and it’s just too much. Although the game is pretty fun in spite of that. How many free Minecraft games with guns can you realistically name that have an elaborate campaign with pop culture from 2012 and a horde mode?

I just downloaded the game on my pc but i played the game like 4 years b4 it came on Pc, and what i realised is since they allowed items on mobile to be transferred to be on pc is the sbmm like persons have one shot guns and since I just started even though i have good aim and hit majority of shots it barely breaks their armour because they have such a high level and good weapons and armoury so it sucks to be new on pc like it is just impossible to play because you can't really do anything to kill them even if you shoot out your whole clip i am level 12 right now this is my take idk if it sounds stupid or not

I just turned 20 the 9 marsh When i was a kid i was terrified of the forest and silent school I mean, you got to admit that the pink little girl in the school is kind of creepy If you didnt already know, the game just release on steam I love the arena minigame, this night i went to 500k point but i stop because i was bored, i was like round 30 something Just run around in circle and dont get trapped and you can basically play forever until you get either bored or tired

I think they should really improve their reward system for both coins and gems to make it more new player friendly. THe daily Task gives you rather small amount and if u ant to get the Cool looking ones its gonna take forever for a new player.

the coin system is not p2w. As long as you come in the top 3 in games, you will get enough coins to get a new weapon every couple of levels so still have a useable gun. The issue is when you get to level 65 90% of the good weapons are bought for gems or in sets or lottery

as a free to play, i confirm this. but i managed to go max lvl without paying even 1 bit. and i grind a lot so i beat a lot of f2p op weapon spammers. so keep grinding and grinding. withiut paying and youll get there

guys, if you go into history, activate coins and gems, and just pause the game, you will still generate and dont get kicked, just saying i have 28k gems and 30k coins, im lvl 5

I can’t seem to agree that the pay to win is as bad as everyone says it is. My and some friends hopped in for the first time and were getting matched with level 30s by our third match and still scoring high on the leaderboard. I’m sweeping lobbies with a level 5 sniper. It’s really not that bad

The game is far less p2w than people claim it is tbh. The micro transactions are actually set up in a way where they are by far not worth buying because of how overpriced they are. You can easily get all of the best weapons in the game for free after around 2-3 weeks of playing. I will say tho, the very new player experience is pretty bad rn as the matchmaking system is terrible and new players get matched with higher level players, but that experience will only be "bad" for a few hours if u know what ur doing. I can see why some would think that the only way to keep up is to spend money, but in reality you just have to push through by outfighting the people with better loot and very soon you will be just as strong as them.

You can easily get to the same level as pay to win players in terms of weapon damage etc.. But it'll cost you a pretty high amount of grinding and time, i remember being 11 and grinding so i could unlcok the battlepass for free. And i actually did it but it took a long time.

I remember back in the day playing this game my friend spent so much money on the game to get this armor that made him pretty much unkillable and gun that would one shot you no matter what so the guns you are using in this video would do nothing to him and most of the people you were shooting didn’t have armor it’s not bad right now but back then if you didn’t spend money it was almost impossible to kill anyone that spent a lot on the game if your a new player

Its not that bad if u know what ur doing. The problem is, u cant be an experienced player when uve just started playing. Idk man, ive gotten all the way to level 65 while doing almost everything wrong (which is why it took me over 2 years) without paying a cent before reaching it. The game is only pay to win when it really tries to, but when it doesnt then the offers give u an advantage for about 3 minutes and then u will feel like uve wasted ur money. The game is very unbalanced so it dont matter if u have a fully bought pay to win loadout when someone just completes the pixel pass which is pretty much a free to play money machine and fucking obliterates u and ur 50 dollar setup with the stupid melee.

The issue with p2w games is that once you actually spend money, you can get good weapons and obliterate other players. The Super Chest in the Lottery would cost around 300$ (or 240£) each time you want to get it. And, because the game is P2W, there's always gonna be one person that manages to cheat in the game and get everything for free. I mean, once you see people needing to cheat in the game in order to be a good player ("good" as in someone that has good weapons), you know the game studio did a terrible job. And you know when the game wants you to spend money when the end match rewards they give you is incredibly small. If you didn't get money from leveling up, literally every player would quit. Buying skins with money is fine, but spending so much money in order to be good (or powerful) is a recipe for disaster. Anyways, I loved the video, keep it up!

This game is so pay to win. You can still earn coins and gems, but they're rather time-consuming as unlocking weapons can take even up to a decade. One thing you didn't mention is the upgrade system. It gets so pricey every time you level it up. There are people who spend thousands or almost to a million to max out an account in 2 years with over a thousand weapons. Many people in steam community had mixed thoughts over this game. While I had negatives because I played this game for over a decade. The developers keep saying they'll make the game good again, but it never happens.

I would get beamed while it can take 2 magazines to kill a single guy. Their high dps and op armor makes it hard af to kill them. I am a fps veteran and I am struggling to get kills against p2w people

there''s a lot of stuff that makes the game p2w. one example are exclusive guns that u need parts fore that tends to be extremely pricy to get. another point is the upgrade system that makes guns stronger too which affects the overpowered part exclusive guns too which in term makes the game just so much more annoying to play as a newcomer plus it tends to increase exponentially making you have to either spend money or grind for hours just to upgrade it further. course I played back when Multiplayer first was announced so it has been a while since the glory days. either way I havent played it in a few years but it sits on my phone anyways but I might check out the PC port...maybe. edit- also the campain hasn't been updated since like...2015 or something.

from playing mobile as a kid, escaping the urge to take my parents credit card, to playing the pc version now, the game is more better designed for pc than anything, in 3 hours alone I went from nothing to a big something, and I'm not that good at the game, so it's really about how different people percieve it.

It's not pay to win if you really dedicate to playing free. You can get so many weapons through events, if you are just so dedicated you might not miss out any weapons from each updates even battle passes if you grind pixel pass tickets hardly. But it is pay to win because the option to purchase currencies are so available anytime, trader's van doesn't cost money, but ir costs a lot of gems. And gems can be bought for money, so if you do just that, it ultimately translates to money spent. Set of your choice costs money, Lottery spins are also very pay to win. You can get keys for free, but you still get matched to players who gained their weapons and keys through money. The pixel pass is 600 tickets which can be earned for free, but earning 600 is not easy. The free pass doesn't hold 600 tickets itself, you have to watch ads, complete tasks to get 600. And of course, you can just buy tickets to purchase the pixel pass as well. The only really thing here that isn't pay to win is the Reward of your choice and lucky board. They are spul crushing however, reward of your choice used to have a total of 150 gems as a reward for watching 30 ads, and now they nerfed it to I think 60 gems every 30 ads, and now you have to wait 3 minutes before watching another ad. Lucky board spins, you can only get spins by watching ads, nothing else. It limits to only 10 ads per day, meaning you get 10 spins per day. If on a single perspective, you can't call it pay to win. A player can play as a free. If it's the whole game, that's pay to win. You get matched to strong players, some who spent money. The game becomes unfair if you get matched against a skilled player with full set pf mythical. And it happens, even after leaving the bot areas. You can play against bots as your first matches, but it gets very real fast when you get to level 15 above. Bots also get cracked up, they're not the usual bots who stand still and shoots. The bots you get matched with above level 20 are mimicking player movements, such as spamming jump, complex movemenrs. And they can beat you with a snowball really.

Only p2w game I enjoy it ain’t for everybody but I been playing this game since the original launch before the reboot gameplay goes hard for no reason so I don’t mind p2w

Honestly, pg3d is P2W, and while it's possible to remain completely F2P you might as well quit because of how heavily grindy the game along with the garbage updates the devs keep making.

tbh, this game is half p2w, half s2w, and i can *kinda* see this being a fun game even IF youre not p2w, but really, fun game with friends, the p2w sucks, but in general, id give it an... 6-8/10 in game design (considering its a mobile port)

this game used to be much better in 2018. the game used to be much less pay to win with no battle pass and such, and i used to play it when i was a kid and it is much, much worse than it was back in 2017/18 Edit: example is back in around 2020 the battle pass used to cost around 8 quid, there was no "trader's van", no gem deals, but there still was a IAP store. back in the early years of the game there was no "efficiency system", and only 3 'star' system upgrades to upgrade your weapons. in summary the game was much better years ago, and now it is completely ruined by iap and p2w
