Review Vancomycin's mechanism of action, dosing, and administration in this mnemonic.
Vancomycin is an antibiotic used to treat MRSA and C. Diff., among other bacterial infections. It has a narrow therapeutic range of 10-20 mcg/mL, so vancomycin drug levels will need to be checked periodically during treatment. Signs that vancomycin drug levels are too high include ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity. And lastly, if vancomycin is infused too quickly, it can cause red man syndrome, so be sure to infuse the drug over at least 60 minutes.

During the summary part, the voiceover says that the narrow range is "10-12" but during the video it is shown as 10-20

Hello there. Love all your videos. FYI, not sure if anyone has mentioned it but in the review of the Vanco, the narrator stated that vanco has narrow therapeutic range of 10-12 mcg/mL.

Wasn't the guidelines changed and now vancomycin and fidaxomicin are the first line therapy for c. Diff (even mild cases) instead of metronidazole? 2:34
