I have a pizza monster in the house. Someone really likes pizza, I got home with the pizza and put it in the bedroom for a couple of minute when I got home and then put it in the fridge, this was the aftermath with the pizza...
1 - People food is not Loki's main diet!!
2 - Tomatoes in large quantities are deadly to foxes
3 - Cheese will upset his stomach and he will feel bad
4 - I give him tiny bites as a treat
5 - I give him the bread part of the pizza not the cheese or the sauce
6 - I share all the food I eat with him so he is included
7 - Giving him a slice will hurt him
8 - I made a questions and answer page for Loki that will answer most questions...

All animals are beautiful :) :) I recently had to adjust his diet because I was giving him too much human food and his protein level were really low and it really concerned the vet, he goes to the vet regularly and has blood work done every time to make sure he is as healthy as possible

I have a pet wild cat (feral cat). He just LOvEs everything off my plate. He now comes inside to inspect everything, goes outside to sleep on the porch and generally just hangs around the house. He is very good company whenI come home after working all day.

A.) He uses feeding treats as a bonding experience; both are eating the pizza together, and sharing is caring. B.) The fox would scarf it all down in a few gulps, and he'd probably make himself sick, while not actually enjoying the pizza much at all.

It's incredibly fascinating how an animal behaves who is so intelligent yet so reliant on his olfactory resource. He clearly learned from being shown that the pizza was now in the fridge. Yet it takes him a moment to disregard what his sense of smell tells him and return to where his memory and reason tell him the pizza actually is. Smell is as strong for him as sight is for a human.

it's discipline. You have to teach your animals they can't get what they want asap. Teaches them to mind and be patient. I do the same with my cat and now instead of going all over the kitchen, he waits at his dinner tray patiently for the paper plate to come.

wild foxes will never be so friendly to human. i think loki is from novosibirsk russia. soviet scientists make succesfull experment selecting the most friendly foxes for dozens of generations so now some of them look slightly different from wild foxes and have many differrent color. google domescicated fox

no, it looks like are regular fur-farm fox. novosibirsk experiment used silver foxes. Loki is a "classic red" fox. most wild and farmed foxes are pretty friendly, just not as doglike as the experiment one

I read a story a while back about a dog that worked for the airport security, sniffing out drugs in people's luggage. One time, it started REALLY going after this suitcase. Turns out, it held a glass bottle of the owner's Grandmother's homemade pasta sauce. There is something in tomato sauce that attracts animals (with good taste). :-)

+Loki the Red Fox Yeah, that's a problem specially here in Venezuela. We have been in crisis for years now, and the shortage has now hit Cat Food. I've been feeding my cat dog food along with meat for some time, but he just doesn't want to eat the dog food anymore

The owner did a lot of research on fox so I believe he know exactly what Loki can or can not eat. Also I remember he said he gives Loki dog food and cat food

Did you know that foxes also lives in towns and feed on garbage and other nasty stuff and still feeling fine?, also they are scavengers in nature, no worries fox has stomach made of steel

Humans eat a ton of crap that we know we shouldn't, raw cookie dough, sushi, undercooked steak etc. and we survive. Are there risks? Probably, but this guy seems to know his fox diet pretty well. I give my rabbit cereal and chocolate once in awhile and she goes nuts for it, small portions with that kind of stuff is usually the key to safety.

+Groar r they also eat mice cats squrrilas birds and lots of other stuff and they have a hunting range many achers larger then the 500 sq feet that this fox is contained to and a wild fox isnt living in a small 2x3 foot wirecage like loki does for probably 10 to 12 a day ... so yes a wild fox can eat human food out of a garbage can and not be badly effected ... because loki is on dog and cat food diet (wrong) should be live mice and live chickens loki can not ever eat human food period this fox is not a dog

He wasn't eating in front of him. His right hand was holding the camera and he was doing everything with his left hand. You don't ever want to give an animal a whole big piece of anything. They'll swallow it whole and puke it up soon after. What he did was take a bite to get a small piece out of the slice, then he put the slice down, then he gave the bite to Loki. All with his left hand.
