We are getting SO MANY cherry tomatoes and most years we don't know exactly what to do with them. This year we've been inspired by the Freeze Fresh book to make PIZZA SAUCE from our cherry tomatoes and put it in the freezer for homemade pizzas all year long.

***** About Living Traditions Homestead *****
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out new videos every week! We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

You’re right. Pizza sauce does have to be thick. I actually found a work around. When I make tomato sauce I dehydrate all the skins, powder them, add dried herbs, and add that powder, as a thickener, for my pizza sauce. It decreases the cooking time to get the sauce as thick as I want, and allows me to make the most use of my tomatoes. Keep those videos coming!

Your videos are always a blessing, and I also love the fact that the camera angles make it possible to read each part of your t-shirts before the video is completed. We are in Springfield Hotel visiting my brother in law and his future (3rd) wife. Catching up on videos when back in our Hotel as we go south to Ozark to his home. We are familiar with this area as he has lived here over 30+ years. Our daughter has been managing our garden for us in Texas while we are gone. Love your t-shirt!! I planted a plethera of tomatoes both cherry and better boys, early girls. Next couple of weeks will be planting for our 2nd growing season. I have a counter full of tomatoes that I have to can when we get home on Tuesday. As we pick the plant can throw more energy back to the others to mature. Our seeds growing show what a miracle and blessing from God we get.

Thank you, and God Bless.

That is something very similar as to what I do even when making pasta sauces. One other thing I tend to do is take an entire head of garlic slice it in half to expose all the garlic and put it in with the tomato so the roasted garlic aromatics is released into the tomatoes I don't blend up the garlic I just have the flavor of it. You can also add a few sprigs of different herbs to release the flavor into tomatoes as well although I don't only put the herbs in for the last 30 minutes of roasting. This will infuse your sauce or paste with garlic and herb.

You hit my heart with this video! The harvest, the beauty, and PIZZA sauce! 🍕😋❤️ Thanks for sharing! Oh, there's a quick way to cut the tomatoes. Use two large container lids that are about the same size. Set one, lip up on the counter. Put as many tomatoes in as possible. Then put the other lid on top, lip down. Hold your palm on top and slice through the middle of the tomatoes.
@gelwood99

Easier than that is to hold your hand flat over the tomatoes and hold the knife parallel to the surface of the counter and cut them. Just like butterflying a chicken breast. I prepared veggies at my job for 19 years and there was no time for cutting each cherry tomato individually or sticking them between plates. A steady sure hand is all you need!

I really appreciate that you are including the Keri way of eating in your videos of food preparation. I am reversing my type two diabetes and find that so much of the canning books are loaded with sugar. I tend to can single ingredients because they don’t usually have sugar added. I will be happy to try your pizza sauce on the “Chaffles” that I make from mozzarella, egg and almond flour. Thank you for your support of the keto way of eating.
