Linklight returns to the workshop for Rivals of Aether which gives you access to custom new characters or mods! In this video I check out Peppino Spaghetti, the main character in the indie game Pizza Tower. The developers of the game actually helped bring the characters to Rivals! Pretty cool.

Seeing peppino in rivals of aether is expected but what's not expected is the fact that he's made by the exact same people who made pizza tower which just shocks me

As a Peppino main there is a good finisher you can do by grabbing someone going off stage, wall jumping to let them go, then time a down air to spike, [this can kill very early]

Wish he had an anti cheap character thing too, initiating Peppino barrage, that replaces his grasp to do a multi hit attack, doing massive damage then forcing a stock to be taken from the opponent, cause it ends with a massive pile driver.

anti cheap would turn him into the actual game peppino, which means you launch opponents far and take a stock instantly if you reach a high speed

I'd honestly laugh if he did the scream from the finale, against Pizza Face's gauntlet. Then started doing his angry/high combo animations, _"I take-a your crap-a no more!"_ and unexpectancy pt3 just plays during the match.

I feel like instead there should be a rage meter for the peppino barrage if there was an anti cheat his rage meter would get a buff and he would one punch you while being invincible the ultimate anti cheat

The fact that side special doesn't kill at the bottom makes it more similar to Bowser's. I think it's cool.

Personally I think if the game ever gets a sudden death mode,Peppino should do the screaming animation he does at the end of the game when you have to refight all the bosses,then should get massive damage boost,but lose massive defense.

you should check if any characters have a "parry taunt" because I figured out, that with certain characters, if you press the parry button and the taunt button, if you time correctly, you'll get an alternate taunt

Someone actually did that, although in my opinion it isn't the best way someone could have made the character. It also favors controller players more than keyboard, because the only special move is the rocket launcher, which uses 360 rotation to aim, which isn't available to keyboard players.

The Side Special is a reference to the Dash Grab, and if it hits, it plays another attack anim called the Piledriver. The Down Smash makes Peppino spin while holding a Cheeseslime, a very iconic character throughout Floor 1.

Yeah the sage color is based on the "sage blue" outfit you get for beating all stages in floor 1 under an hour (john gutter, pizzascape, ancient cheese, bloodsauce dungeon, pepperman)

side special is based off something you can do in a grab in midair peppino grabs the oppnent and starts spinning downwards and grounds them but for rivals he spins and goes forward and up

Fun fact if you do a Mach dash, which is triggered by neutral special and you press the same button again then you can do a little charge attack that dose damage. Also another fact is you can hold peppinos super jump move that will launch you higher for the time that you hold the button

I really dont know why they didn’t stick to the OG sprites, and the fact that the devs of Pizza tower made this as well, like he’s Huge Punch, he’s arms are bigger, the fist is still the same, the sprint/mach run, the idle animation, the uppercut. Tho i am thinking it’s probably because of the Limited Pixel’s it could use, to make up for Peppino’s iconic moves.

You should test agent N character has a very interesting gameplay (and a anti cheat that it's very destructive and have something like 2 phases that depends on how durable or cheaper is the enemy and also the anti cheat activate when you use the taunt)

I think the sprites were made a few years ago. This mod came out in December 2022 but uses those sprites.

Hello there, Linklight. I really enjoy your content and I have been watching excitedly ever since your first Custom Characters in Rivals of Aether video. I apologize if this is a bit much, as I am not sure if you take requests for future videos, but if at all possible, could you please possibly do a video on Jerma985 by roboshyguy, Ridley by EGGS, and/or Tahu by JustRaisins? I haven't ever seen a deep dive into any of their movesets, so please consider it if you can, and keep up the wonderful content regardless, you have done an amazing job and I know you will just keep getting better and better. :)

Also, I really do wish someone could make a Jerma moveset video that explains all the references, because he is certainly the best mod from last year, so I definitely agree with you there. One small nitpick I have with the moveset is that the up b could be better. It's a neat reference, but there are some neat missed opportunities. As an example: the gas canister in the ice level that propels pepino upwards.

I don't think that would make sense in the context of the moveset, up special is good as is imo. The only sort of missed opportunity i personally see is the fact that dash attack could've been a reference to one of the attack poses Peppino strikes after hitting a boss.

I kinda give props to them making new sprites for peppino instead of using the ones used in the game. It gives it an extra… idk but it’s still so cool
