they are making executive decisions based on experience. I can guarantee you they've seen more flywheels with heat cracks than anyone in the KZfaq comments and they know how long the flywheel will last... everyone had a budget and they tell the customer to come back and do the repair the flywheel by X number of miles...

@@personalfunfest 10000 miles be fine, but I saw this truck brakedown with clutch problems and a roadside repair was carried out. I am not sure if it was before or after.

You have to take into consideration that perhaps that’s all they had to work with, or perhaps the owner didn’t want to spend more money, one thing I can guarantee you is that that truck will be seriously overloaded and will transport way more than the engine was just built for, in this 3rd world countries, people are used to overwork trucks on a daily basis and get things done.

@Amo Saddam i can do a better job. I've been working with car mechanics and engines for years. So i know rules of proper and good work. Problem with guys from films is that they don't develop. They have several channels on YT, they have some extra money, they work a lot, so they have some money. Why they don't buy new tools? Why they don't invest in their work place? Old hammer and adjustable wrench is not enough to do good job. And they make a lot of serious mistakes! For example when they reassmbly engine with used parts they mix pistons and sleeves. But they were working in pairs and are worn in pairs. There are differences in sizes, diameters... Engine will work when you mix it but can use more oil or get higher temperature. And so on and more... And the worse thing they do - working on ground in dust and sand. Working with engines requires clean and "steril" area. Want more?

That’s pretty standard, even in the US that’s how you grind the valves by hand, the compound gets pushed away when turning, have to reposition the tool every few turns to redistribute the compound.

There guys are professionals they will score thousands on this rebuild. Everything they are doing is correct. They are not cheap labor... there's workers and the owner just like in any other shop.
