David vs Goliath Parkside edition! Rotary hammer drills Performance PKHAP 20-li C3 vs. PBHA A1 12V.
Can you get by with just the 12V for occasional DIY use?
Let's test and see what the real word difference is between the cheapest Parkside hammer drill and the newest C3 Parkside Performance PKHAP 20-li C3. Both tools made by Grizzly tools for Parkside.
*I have come across the Parkside Performance PKHAP 20-li C3 made by Kompernaß as well. The one in the video is made by Grizzly tools.

Thank you! I made the video so I can look in to the difference between the bottom of the line and the top of the line rotary hammer drills. The difference was bigger than I expected!

I have read the comments and think some people don't know how to use tools. I don't understand disappointment by some commenters with what they call "parkshit" tools. I have 20 volt green Parksite sds drill and it is my favourite tool ever. Actually I have 4 or 5 of them but after 5 or 7 years I am still at the first one. I mostly use it for red and brown plugs. And it is perfect. LIGHTWEIGHT !!! with 2 Ah battery, wish it had a belt clip. A few times I abused it, but was slow and gentle with 1 metre 15mm sds or shorter 32mm sds, drilled holes in stages. I also have 20v and 28v Milwaukee and 36v Makita and number of corded DeWalt, Makita and Hilti. I use them when needed. But my favourite daily use tool is that little Parkside. I regret I didn't buy 12Volt Parkside sds when they had them in uk, around £50. When they have them again cartainly I am going to grab one this time. But I understand if someone wants to buy just one drill maybe Parkside is not for them. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for your time! You are spot on with the lightweight point there! The Performance one has power but in some cases it is too heavy, for the odd DIY job I also think this is good enough and when you look at the price and warranty I do think it is an excellent purchase!

@@BrokeLifeEU I have the performance Parkside sds drill too, I just remembered, but I only tried it once, never actually used it. With tools like Parkside there is a problem, you can not use them on building sites. You will be bullied by rednecks working there. They will be borrowing your tools to try them and to prove that they fail, and they will fail when abused. Anything will fail when abused even Hilti.

I have had the exact same type of experience unfortunately. People trying to borrow my Parkside stuff just to abuse it and try to make it fail.

Great comparison. I regret buying the 12v Version... But I dont have a 20v parkside battery yet

Thank you! Well at least they have the 12V option rotary hammer for if you don't have the 20V line of batteries. Which does save you investing in to the 20V. For a 12V I think it is good enough.

How much nm you think the hammer drill has? Any way to determine it? They say 3j but i cant find a way to convert to nm since is diferent types of power mesurement. Ask this because im curious to know what is stronger in rotational movement. For example to drive big screws, could it be stronger than the 80nm drill? Or even stronger than some impact drivers?
@BrokeLifeEU
@BrokeLifeEU 6 ай бұрын
There is no exact way to convert J in to Nm that I know of. I would say that it is less than 3J, as it feels less powerful than a Bosch with 2.7 that I used a while ago. As for the big screws I would go with an impact wrench. In terms of this or the 80Nm hammer drill if you are looking for rotational force I would say the 80Nm drill. If this rotary hammer drill gets stuck in something it just stops whereas if the 80Nm drill stops in something you do feel a lot of kickback. So I am mostly basing my answer on a wild guess, but I would say somewhat educated as well.

Isn't the chuck interchangeable in the green version? Why you put an adapter 😅. Anyway great video
@BrokeLifeEU
@BrokeLifeEU 6 ай бұрын
Thank you! The plastic chuck from the 12V would not have lasted if I used it with the 20V and I wanted to use identical chucks for both. Hence why Total Tools 5EUR SDS chuck adapter was the choice for me.

I have to source them from different places, not all are in one country at the same time. Some from Belgium, some France or Germany, Croatia, Poland. Mostly, because the release dates are different or some are hard to find. I mostly prefer the Performance line, otherwise the green ones are easier to find but I prefer the brushless tools. In the UK you have ALDI, don't they have tools?

After being burned multiple times, all I have to say is: if you can't afford to waste money, YOU CAN'T AFFORD PARKSHIT. Is the old saying, buy once, cry once. Waste money on parkshit and you'll have a lot to cry.

@@BrokeLifeEU Me personally wasn't burned by the black crap, but know more than enough people who were. The cost on the black ones is higher, hurts more. It doesn't make me happy to hear them complaining about the black parkshit, but I rather have them complaining than me. Also I worked with some of the black parkshit and I didn't like how they feel. It's a me thing though, not necessarily the toys. This will be a long read. Saw PASA 20-Li A1 - Great to handle, really comfortable in the hand. First time using it, it struggled (by struggled I mean I smelled burning) and I soon realised I couldn't push it. So I was very careful with it. It eventually ended up breaking the motor shaft. Death sentence, was replaced under warranty, and I bought an einhell which I deliberately have been trying to break, abused it hard multiple times... That einhell is resisting the abuse. Trimmer PGKGA 40-Li B2 - Replaced 3 times under warranty. First one broke a part by the blade. Second one would just stop for no reason and lack power. Third one lack power, stopped for no reason and when it started to smell like something was burning I sent it back. Fourth, never used it, still new in the sealed box. Bought a petrol one from einhell, really happy with that einhell too. Hammer drill PABH 20-Li B2 - First time using it, I almost burned it. The selector is jammed. After that only used it a couple times on very light duty so I don't burn it. Mildly serious work I grab my old DeWalt. Disc grinder PWSA 20-Li D4 - First and probably only time I used it, cutting a 1mm steel sheet it kept stopping. If it has not enough power to cut a 1mm sheet... Guess what I use when I need a disc grinder? Yes, my 20 year old corded einhell. Drill PABS 20-Li E6 - This is one tool I thought really worth the money. For 3 years it was great, although I haven't used that much. Last month I used and it worked flawlessly. A week later I took it out of the box and it was dead. I thought it could be the battery being cold. Multiple batteries later, it wasn't. The drill was really dead. Fortunately I took it out that day, two days later and the warranty would have expired. Was just in time to get a replacement under the warranty. I would be really pissed if I hadn't tried to use it that day. There's also a corded drill that I simply never use because I just know it is shite. I have absolutely no use for it. The people online, like yourself, may or may not be (they are not) putting these parkshit toys through it's paces. I have not used any of these parkshit toys professionally as I did with Ryobi, Einhell or DeWalt, I don't believe they would survive to the end of the day if I did.

I can totally agree that I am not putting the tools through their paces and I absolutely agree they are not meant to be used in a professional environment. They are after all being sold by a grocery store. I have also had issues with Parkside tools before, however because they were under warranty I got a replacement no later than 3 days after the fact. Of course I can not expect them to last a lifetime. They are not a name brand such as Makita, Milwaukee or DeWalt. I do however like them in terms of how cheap they are to get in to. Especially the batteries. For me they have solved some problems, however one needs to know what to look out for, as they do have some appallingly bad tools too. In my experience the worst one I have ever bought is the 400Nm impact wrench. It said it was 400Nm on the label, however it would struggle to undo 150Nm and at 200Nm it would just give up. I mock the tool, however once I presented all of this information to the local Lidl store I did get the option of a refund or another unit. I chose the refund and I can say that the transaction was quite brisk. Nothing to complain about on that front at all. I do understand and value your point. Lately the 12V PPDSSA impact wrench has proven to be quite disappointing. I should have bought a Milwaukee 3/8 stubby that would have done all that I wanted it to. Instead of the 25% to 50% of the job that the Parkside "stubby" did. On the other hand one is 50EUR and the other is 250EUR. So one must accept that for that much of a price difference there are many cons to be had. So one must weigh in on what they can afford and what they are after very carefully. For me Parkside was the entry in to the power tool world, but I am sure once and if I have the funds I am moving over to Milwaukee.

@@BrokeLifeEU I wouldn't mind Milwaukee, just I can't justify the cost. Talking about cost... the Einhell saw I bought to replace the parkshit that broke, cost me 77€ with two 2,5Ah batteries and two chargers. The same from parkshit would cost me almost 100€. As I told you, I've been abusing the Einhell saw and it is taking it like a champ. Yes, I don't expect it to perform at the same level as the professional tools I have, those cost 10x more, but at least would be nice to use them more than once without smelling burning or having to grab another tool to get the job done. Einhell is comparable to parkshit price wise, but parkshit is not comparable to Einhell quality wise. And what do you do when something breaks out of warranty? Lidl will not sell parts. Is a throw away item. Einhell, DeWalt, Ryobi, Milwaukee (same manufacturer as Ryobi these days), etc will provide parts so you can repair your tool and keep using it. I'm not a fan of Einhell, but I have to admit their tools do last and can take abuse, even at professional level. Parkshit were the only tools I had failing on me. Every other tool I bought, some decades ago, is still working without any issues.

@@BrokeLifeEU oh I forgot. Take a look at Festool. I thought those were crap, but after using them (professionally where there no time to play around) I will tell you, excellent equipment if you can justify paying for them. Lighter weight than Milwaukee, incredibly powerful and can definitely deal with more abuse than you can throw at them.
