This video is not about the best places to eat in Crystal City, Virginia (although we did enjoy each of these restaurants). We were in town for a weekend where we checked out the sights in nearby Washington, D.C. during the day but then came back to Crystal City where we were staying at the Crystal City Marriott and had dinner in the area. So we are going to share with you our experiences at three restaurants in Crystal City. Two were a short walk from our hotel. The third was actually in our hotel. We will give you a look at the restaurant, the food and the menu at Bell20 American Tavern, Good Stuff Eatery and Ted's Montana Grill. We don't know what the best restaurants are in Crystal City, but we tried each of these places and they are good - TripAdvisor agrees!

These 3 restaurants all looked very interesting. Gouda mashed potatoes are always a hit. I also thought the Farmhouse had some really good looking burgers and fries. The half-sour pickles also sounds interesting. Awesome video!!

Loved the food tour Jack and Alice. They all looked good but the Good Stuff Eatery looked reasonably priced too! Never knew Ted Turner was into ranching now but after a quick google search see he own some huge ranches! Life is good! Thanks so much for bringing us along.

Yes, Good Stuff Eatery was probably our favorite. Even though it was fast food, it was delicious fast food. And the price was very reasonable for the area. We had read an article about Ted Turner’s second career as a cattle rancher some time ago. But we didn’t make the connection that this was his restaurant until we sat down inside and noticed there was a picture of him by the bar. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I love how you described the cocktails as “Disney priced” 🤣 I absolutely love short ribs! It’s really nice when you can find a good restaurant in your hotel. Super cool the Crystal City shops were connected to your hotel by a tunnel. Love it when there are choices nearby that are walkable.

Yes. We let Disney overcharge for drinks now everyone wants to do it. LOL. Short rib is so good. We do love that this hotel is connected to those shops and the Metro station underground. That is why this hotel is our go to hotel in the DC area. Thanks for watching and commenting!

We enjoyed all three of these restaurants. The bison burger really did taste good. But it tasted very similar to a beef burger. We would get bison again but it is a bit more expensive than beef so we might not get it very often. Thanks for watching and commenting!

We didn't really even try the sauces. The food was so flavorful it didn't need to be drown in sauce. Half sour pickles are a mixed bag. I liked them. Jack didn't. We had never heard of them before. Nice reviews! We love staying at Marriotts. Those short ribs looked great! It’s nice having great restaurants within walking distance from your hotel. Mmmmmm root beer float!!

I love that the short rib was life-changing! Good food should be. We've been to DC but never Crystal City....looks like a good place to stay and eat. (I gave up drinking soda...wow...about 20 years ago but still have to make exceptions for root beer floats!) All of the food sounds so good. Now I'm hungry!

Crystal City, VA is a couple metro train stops away from the heart of DC. It is a great place to stay and take the train into the city without having to drive in the city and look for/pay for parking once you get there. That short rib was fantastic. I had eaten short rib before occasionally but this was so good, it won me over for life. Any time I can, I am ordering short rib now. I was very glad to give up soda for a number of health reasons. But I can't completely give up root beer floats. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment!

Good stuff might have been our favorite of these restaurants. And it was the cheapest too. I barely remember seeing Spike on Top Chef. I feel like he must gotten eliminated early. But anyway, his restaurant is really good for quick service. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I like that you can get to two of these without getting outside, it gets cold there! Love having lots of dipping sauces! Hadn’t heard of Ted’s, smart to sell your own cattle!

It does get cold there! I love that Crystal City has some underground passageways like this. I imagine Ted Turner was sitting around his huge bison ranch one day thinking, "What am I going to do with all these bison?" And then he opened some restaurants. Great business plan. Love how you explained the Cocktail prices! I knew Exactly what you meant about the Prices when you said the Cocktails are "Disney Priced" lol! I think it's Perfectly fine to have your Rootbeer Float Alice! Ted's Montana Grill looks like a Nice place to dine! I want to try those pickles!!!!!

Yeah, we let Disney get away with charging us that much for drinks - now other resorts think they can do it too. LOL. I don't miss soft drinks usually. But I just have to have an occasional root beer float! The half-sour pickles were interesting and I did like them. Hope you get to try some at a Ted's Montana Grill one day. There are several locations in Georgia and a few in Florida and I feel like you live down that way (if I remember correctly). Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to comment!

Great vlog for us foodies. I did like those messy burgers and didn’t know Ted Turner was up to these days. That’s definitely one for the list. I’ve only had bison once and agree that it’s not too different to beer. Boar vs pork is like day and night if you ever see that on the menu.

Those short ribs looked amazing! The Good Stuff eater sounds awesome! I found the same thing with Bison burgers...hard to tell a difference between them and reg ground beef.

All of the restaurants in the video looked good; and except for the short ribs and salmon seemed like most of the places were pizza or burgers. You can’t go wrong with these types of food items. The beverages looked good too. I agree about the price of burgers.

Yeah burger prices just keep going up at nicer restaurants. But once it gets over $15, we usually think “This is just a burger. Why does it cost this much?” But all the food and drinks tasted good to great so I guess that is what is important. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment!

Corned beef and cabbage was 8.95 in the middle to late 1980's. I would guess the price is between 15 to 20 today. If you take the red line to union it located to the right when exit the station. Hope thay are still in business

Jack really did like his bison burger and said he would get it again. He was just surprised that it tasted similar. But if it is healthier then that definitely makes it a worthy option going forward. Thanks for watching. And for the info!
