Interesting video, i never thought about power outages causing smoke to come from the firebox. So it's freezing cold and you need to open the windows! I think some sort of battery backup to run the exhaust fan at minimum rpm during a power outage would be a great idea for any pellet stove. In Europe we now have a twin walled condensation flue pipe for pellet stoves. Do you have the same over there? The cold air enters the building from close to the end of the stove pipe then runs down the inside of the two pipes and gets fed straight into the stove, a condensation trap is fitted. The moist pre warmed air should increase the burn efficiency of the stove.

Can a 6inch vertical pipe be used ?
@pelprostoves6142 Жыл бұрын
Hi Patrick! Most pellet pipe manufacturers have adapters to go from 3” or 4” pellet pipe to 6” Class A vertical. Some localities require that the pellet pipe then adapt to and run a liner up the 6” Class A. We recommend partnering with a local hearth shop as they will know local codes.

What stops it from catching fire in case of a power outage? Does it put itself out?
@Texasracergal11 ай бұрын
It will eventually just go out because it wont be receiving any more fuel and there wont be any air flow.

Hi there! The fire in the fire pot is maintained by forced combustion air from an electric blower. Once the air stops, the fire will slowly smolder out. In addition, if the power is out, no additional pellets will be fed into the fire pot. Smoke from inside the unit will be pulled by draft, provided that you have 5’ of rise in the exhaust venting.

Your manual doesn't say anything about needing the 4 foot of vertical rise. In fact, you have a picture of horzontial venting without any vertical rise.

Hi Makaila, please follow the venting chart in the manual. Depending on configuration it’s a 5ft min rise. You can find this chart on page 12 of your PelPro owner manual. If you have any other questions, please reach out to us here: www.pelprostoves.com/contact-us/ask-a-question

@@pelprostoves6142 I am confused at this - the manual clearly shows in diagram the pipe going directly outside from the back through the wall and out. Yet, it states that any vertical makes it more efficient. So is it best to go out and then a 90 and up or from the back of the stove up and then outside through the wall?
@pelprostoves6142 Жыл бұрын
@@GiveaDogaHomeGaDaH Thank you for your question. Either is okay. However, I would personally go straight out the wall. The rise recommendation is for power outages. If there is enough rise it will pull some of the smoke out of the home in a power outage during operation. I hope this helps! Why did you install so close to the corner of a wall ? Code requires at least a minimum of 39 inches from any corner of a building.
@DK-iu8dp3 жыл бұрын
This stove only requires 3"minimum from closest point to the wall.
