The Plain Lacewing is poorly named because it is a very pretty butterfly with a lovely amber-orange coloring and attractive v-shaped edges on its hindwings.
These butterflies enjoy basking in the sun and top of their wings is a gorgeous amber-orange color with black dots and a white submarginal band. The underside of their wings is white, orange, and black with intricate lacy patterns.
The butterflies are native to Southeast Asia and live on forest edges. They enjoy feasting on Lantana flowers.
They are similar in appearance to the Book Butterfly or Leopard Lacewing, but this butterfly does not have the white submarginal band.
