With Pakistan being added to the UK's Coronavirus Red List, a lot of flights were operated to repatriate passengers from Pakistan. The Red List came into effect on the morning of the 9th April, the day that I came. A few very late charters arrived in the night before, and with the requirement of a rest period meant there would be a lengthy delay before they went out, giving me the golden opportunity to grab some of the charter aircraft.
If it wasn't for the extra flights, Manchester Airport is eerily quiet right now with all the restrictions in place. There were some long waits between movements, which is nevertheless a sad sight to see. This was possibly also the longest duration I had spotted for, arriving at Manchester Airport at 10am and staying till 8pm at night. Fortunately I wasn't the only one enduring the cold weather all day.
Charter aircraft include: 2x Wamos A330-200's, 2 Jordan Aviation A330-200's, one in Ex-Shaheen Air livery. 1 Hi Fly A340-300 and an Air Senegal A330-900 operating for Hi Fly Malta.
In addition to charter flights, there were also some other movements of interest including a visit of an Aeroflot A330-200 returning Man UTD players from Granada. As well there was a Turkish A330-300. I'd imagine operating due to cargo demand.
