I'm English & live in a motorhome & have lived in the Highlands for over a yr now. During the 1st lockdown I've had the police knocking on my van 9 times & also had a police car with blue flashing lights pull me over, all wanting to know why I'm in Scotland? I'm also unemployed & signing on here at the moment.

I nominate plank of the year for the cop who arrested and man handled a 78 elderly lady into a van outside the house’s of parliament today. She was peacefully protesting over the lockdown and a MP witnessed it and brought it up in parliament. He was quit rightly angry 😡 Totally disgusting and the cops have lost more public support. Again!!!🤮

How is it possible that the police had enough force present to deal with the 78 yr old woman, and yet they could not prevent a couple of XR protestors using the Cenotaph - on the 11th of November, please note - to stick up a protest 'wreath' in amongst the wreaths laid down on the steps to commemorate our dead, who gave their lives serving this country? Can someone explain, please? 'Cos I can't figure it out.

Actually I work in the public sector and have along with several others just been made redundant. Please don’t generalise as it’s not true we are all on gold plated pensions or have job security etc. We also pay tax, NI and pay into our pensions

I was in the Army when the redundancies happened and the new style pension came in. It was bad for some however most of them took redundancies and were not made compulsory redundant. After the Army I first discovered the work place pensions are much worse and after working for Monarch Airlines and Flybe I can tell you the private sector is redundancies and roumer of for breakfast, lunch and tea. I hope you fine new work soon.

@@Isclachau we were made redundant on cost saving grounds. All our work has been redistributed to others- so they have to take on extra. Nothing I or my colleagues will stop being delivered.

Lewis Hamilton drives for Mercedes and was the poster boy for Hugo Boss both used slaves during the WWII, so he should have the title Slave driver and not be Knighted. The nonsense that his tax affairs being in order in the UK exempts him from scrutiny has been put forward. The majority of his income i s funneled through Monaco where he lives.

I owned a hotel in the UK during the foot and mouth outbreak of 2001. The problem the industry faced then was that it was fragmented and had no leverage with the government yet it represents about 10% of the economy. Not much has changed.
