@go_away_now No, it doesn't work for the countless young people that still go out here and do it. All it does is keep them ignorant to safety precautions and sex education in general. They're terrified to go to their parents with their questions and concerns, so they just learn from their friends or, worst experience. I will never understand why it makes sense to people to have their children completely sex ignorant. Even if they are waiting until marriage, why send them in blind? Having knowledge that STDs exist, how pregnancies happen, and what consent means is all important information once you do start being active. I'd argue that educating them would lead to more people waiting because then they actually know what the bond means and the consequences of moving too fast. Just saying "Don't do it" with no context is a failure that leads to young parents and worse.

The better option is to actually educate them so they understand what a beautiful thing it can be between two people, but also the consequences that can come along with giving yourself away too freely. People can only make educated decisions when they are educated on the topic. Even if young people choose to wait for marriage, why do people feel it makes sense to send them into it completely ignorant? It's important to know where babies come from, that STDs exist, and what consent means. Ignorance is a tactic used to control people. People make better choices when they have all the information. It's just my opinion. My mother educated me, and you wouldn't believe how many ignorant kids I went to school that were already active without the knowledge I had. They don't talk to their parents because all they can say is "don't do it." So they go out and learn from experience or they learn things you wouldn't want them to learn from their friends.

The thing is, it's not about you. You don't necessarily lose anything or gain anything from illicit sex (you could lose your health, or have a child, but we're looking at the best case scenario to prove them wrong). The pleasure is negligible. You lose your innocence of something that's wrong if you do it with the wrong person, but you've already lost that before. Instead, it's like any other sin. It's about the destruction of social relationships by creating drama, gossip, and commodifying social relationships, making them fragile. Ever wonder why high school students and late middle schoolers scheme and play power games so much more than younger kids? Most of that is sexually driven. And this fragility is what destroys the lives of children, both the ones born outside of marriage and even those born inside broken marriages that were made fragile by the addictive sexual behavior people learned early on. And people that behave that way not only get addicted themselves but enable other people's addictions. If people do this enough, it is statistically inevitable that they will ruin families and damage their community. Imagine a world where drunk driving was legal. Not even something you pay a ticket and get points for. Just... legal. Maybe if you have a minor (under 16) in the car, you get a ticket. Not only that, but half of car commercials show people clearly drinking beer, wine, or spirits at the wheel. And 80% of beer commercials showed the same. (Budwiser. Don't just drive the road. Enjoy it!). Drive-thru bars and dispensaries everywhere. But oh buddy, if you hit someone, you're a BAD DRIVER!! BAD! BAD PERSON!! Not for driving drunk or anything, just for hitting someone. And we're going to go on and on to the victim about how bad that person was. But never even ask them if they drive drunk themselves. And if anyone, Heaven forbid anyone says that we should even give people tickets for drunk driving, let alone take away licenses and give jail time, people will scream MY BODY MY CHOICE! (Never mind that when you get on public roads, it's everyone's business). That's the level of absurdity we're dealing with.

Exactly. That's why so many people are messed up these days. I'm a virgin at 32, but I come from a broken family. I can't imagine has issued related to sex AND the issues I already have to deal with. I met a guy who had been with so many women, he said he didn't know if he was going to be able to pair bond with his wife. 🙁 He wanted to be married, but he was so discouraged and messed up from that. I felt so bad for him.

Death/mortality occurred as a result of eating the tree of knowledge. Sex is a sin/virginity is not because it represents God's original plan. However, God made sex holy by making it a condition of marriage. So, yes, you see plenty of verses about sex after the fall, which basically explains the good and bad versions of it.

You're right! It's impossible to debate me because you can't argue with The Word of God. I will never stop pointing back to God with everything I talk about. If you don't want to hear it, that's a sign that you need God more than you realize.
