In this video we talk about "E" the missing ingredient.
E is for Experience and it is Essential !
We cannot possibly know what we are aiming for if we don't know what we can achieve, if we haven't experienced this.
So, it is important to know what is possible so that you can set your sights but also know when something is falling short.
Once we all know what can be achieved companies are also forced to deliver and we mean deliver quality not just product. You need to know that the people you are dealing with have done a good job and actually delivered the EXPERIENCE you now know is possible.
We wish you many happy movies!

Yeah making the room quieter is one of the toughest things to do. I cant do it in my room because the walls are brick. And I dony have enough internal volume to add walls between the brick walls. I would lose too much room volume. I'm doing what I can to lower the noise floor, but its a struggle.

I couldn't agree more. I feel like while there are so many amazing home theater tours on youtube. I just don't see as many that really put an emphasis on the experience of going to the movies. I really enjoyed the video you guys did a while back with the lobby setup that felt like it was right out of 90s/00s (in a good way). Honestly the best part of the room I'm building for myself now is the lobby area.

Thanks we do too. Its what keeps us going, It may not look like it but there have been considerable struggles and at times minor battles to try to get answers to technical issues that have stood in our way...

I'll probably never be in Australia, but if I do ever find myself there, it'll be mainly to experience Cinema 1 at HTE! But I wonder what effect experiencing that room would have on my perception of my own home cinema? Would it make me appreciate my room more, or make me feel like I need to start over from scratch??? Lol

@@HomeTheatreEngineering thanks Andrew! I don't think I mentioned this in our chat, but I designed and built my home cinema all myself, so I'm very proud of my accomplishment. And of course it wouldn't have turned out as well as it did without the help of HTE, and other great people in the HT community, so thanks for your part in that!

Ha well spotted. These are as you noticed the new Douglas shirts... should we make them available for sale? We are thinking of similar for HTE merch, shirts caps and mugs maybe?

@@HomeTheatreEngineering I’d buy a DH t-shirt and possibly a HTE if is looked as snazzy as the DH.

No I am curious but I am also concerned. I had a discussion with a bunch of 20-30 year olds who don't go to the movies now due to the price. At about $30 a ticket (the price of owning the movie entirely) I am not sure that after the first visit to check out the "gimmick" it will have legs. The folk we were talking to were to my interest not impressed with the "production line experience" of movies even mentioned watching staff pour bags of popcorn into tubs instead of seeing it popped "live" (fact is cinemas did bulk popcorn years ago but it was presented better) . I think we need to move past gimmicks and give families affordable access so numbers climb and people stop staying home. Selling 200 seats at half price instead of only selling 100 seats after peak rush still means more candy bar sales... I really am not sure that expensive gimmicks will last. What we need are great movies and accessibility to them.

@@HomeTheatreEngineering I'm not a fan of it. It feels more like an amusement park attraction that gets a little old 10 minutes into the movie. I'd much rather go to a Dolby Cinema.

From feedback I have heard its just becomes a massive distraction, even if content is made to use it. It takes your attention outside of your peripheral vision (we use cinemascope to engage this element)
