Friend when I tell you, I am enjoying your video. It is as if you're working I'm my yard with me. Questions: Are y'all going to add lighting or rocks in the spacing between the fence? What does the rest of your yard look like? How does yard landscaping blend around your dwelling, and within your neighborhood? What's your theme? Asking, because I'm looking for ideals,much love!

Hello Jou. Our apologies for just getting to your question sooner. We must have missed it. As far as lighting...we actually have string lights hanging above that lights up the entire garden. As far as our theme ... if you watch our trailer, we use a compass. Each of our gardens is named after the four directions: East being our Canna Showcase Garden, South is our Container Garden, where we grow things in pots, West is like a seating area and where we grow our African Marigolds, and North is our Produce Garden. As far as our surroundings, we've always gotten great feedback from our neighbors. Once again, sorry for the delay in responding. Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan

I have watched all your canna videos and I love them! They have been super informative! I’m new to cannas, as we just bought a house that has a ton already planted. I think they may be Robert Kemp after seeing yours in this video, but I’m not sure. I’ve been doing research to learn how to care for them and you have been so helpful! I am planning on taking the rhizomes out this fall, storing for winter, and moving to a new, sunnier location next spring. I’ve also been collecting the seeds to grow new ones! I would love to get your help on 2 things. First, how do you set up your grow rack for the new seeds and when do you start those? And when can I transition them to the ground? Second, could you show your process for putting the rhizomes back into the ground come spring? Thank you for sharing all your knowledge!

Hi Jessica. Congratulations on your new home! How welcoming is it to have those cannas there waiting for you? ;-) Sounds like you have a good game plan for your cannas. We have a whole section on our channel called Canna Lily Series where you can learn about planting, propagating the seeds, and storing rhizomes for the winter if you need any help. As far as setting up the rack - we will be doing a video this year, probably sometime in December, where we show you how to set up a grow rack but we do have some good information on our Growing In Starter Trays video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ebB4jbFj19nHd6c.html . You might find this helpful. As far as when to start them - that will really depend on how much space you have for them to grow. We start growing the seeds at the end of January and start the rhizomes usually at the end of February, we have a greenhouse so when they get too big for the grow rack, we put them out there. We won't plant them in the ground here in NJ (zone 7b) till sometime mid-May. As far as planting the rhizomes - we have a whole series called Yes, We Canna Updates where we show new cannas that we've collected and at the end of the videos, we show you how to plant the rhizomes. Like we said, we have a greenhouse so we generally don't plant the rhizomes in the ground. We grow them in pots and then transfer them into the ground mid-May.
