how do u get the trunk of ur tree to grow thick

FAYE MARTIN usually, its a large tree that gets chopped anywhere from 4-18 inches (usually) from its base (surface roots). Then, the shoot that grows at the highest point is generally trained as the new "leader", which over time will become the top of the tree. This is all hypothetical, as there are many other ways of going about this, but generally this method is accepted as the most common method of miniaturizing a large deciduous tree. I should also mention that this technique is mainly used on deciduous trees such as maples, apples etc. This technique is not usually applied to evergreens due to the simple fact that they generally do not generate new growth on hard wood.

some of those pines are styled horribly, might need to study a bit more on how to create the apex on a conifer.
