Join me for a plant tour at a HUGE plant store in Tokyo. Protoleaf is located in a beautiful suburban neighborhood, and serves plant enthusiasts, collectors, and gardeners of the greater Tokyo area.
Their remarkable assortment of plants are diverse. Their range include cactii, succulents, tropicals, indoor trees, flowers, and more… some of these plants are grown in ways that are uniquely Japanese. Stick around till the end, as we chance upon cheerful and flamboyant blooms taking advantage of this glorious spring afternoon.

Wow, I love the beauty of rare plants! Growing my own Thai Constellation from tissue culture was a journey. Now, I enjoy creating these plants with play dough, clay, and paper - it's a fun way to capture their beauty without the hefty price tag, haha!

Variegated greyhound 😂😂😂 yup you’re definitely a plant lover! Proof! Lol 😆 Japan is very expensive compared to Canadian prices, there are some comparable prices though, our Philo white knights that size are 30$CAD our Raven ZZ’s that size are 60-80$ CAD! Funny how pricing is so different between countries and their tastes

01:40 most of those are Echeverias, you were right! Those green flowering ones look to be some hybrid of _Echeveria agavoides_ I think. Looking at the selection, I can thee what appears to be ‘Bluebird’, ‘Blue Atoll’, ‘Perle von Nurnberg’, and ‘Black Prince’ or ‘Black Knight’. The tiniest ones look like _E. minima_ or _E. lilacina_ as well. 😊

Right, Chiba-Newtown Komeri is huge and the price is about 2/3 that of Protoleaf, but there are slightly lesser rare strains and more common ones. I visit here for nice potteries and stuff.

This is also quite close to the city center. In a few more episodes down I tour another plant shop that might be a bit more affordable as it is in the boondocks 😀
