Today I show you how to plant pearl weed and go over CO2, the carbon cycle, carbonate hardness, and balancing. and discuss a little bit about fish respiration.

Your videos were always the most concise and insightful aquarium content on youtube. I tried showing your channel to a friend of mine but it's slightly above his station atm unfortunately. In doing so I ended up subscribing and voila here you are blessing us again! I have a saltwater tank now but thinking about starting another freshwater tank and using my paintball co2 rig. I particularly loved the rotala bonsai and hydrocotyle. The myriophyllum Guyana was also very beautiful (lime green and wonderful fronds) but it grows such a dense rootsystem. Even more than cabomba which was surprising. Yep now that I'm yapping about aquatic plants again I rly want to start another freshwater hi-tech nano.... Best wishes sir and thnx again for the educational videos.

Rotala Bonsai is cool. I used to have a lot of it and enjoyed the added texture that it added. Myrios are great for adding softness. I used to enjoy those as well. I need a bigger tank! Once my business season starts and I start making some more funds, then I will set up a bigger tank! Good luck with your high tech nano! That should be fun. And thanks for watching.

Thanks. The soft water is definitely helping. You should! It's more of a challenge even if the water changes are smaller haha

My little seven gallon low tech tank is one of my favorite ones. I have soft well water with low calcium. I have to keep adding gh booster.

Love the form factor of this tank. It's crazy how we all like to play chemist in this hobby 😂 I have water that most would kill for, basically comes out of the tap like RO, super soft with barely detectable gh or kh, with a pH of around 6.4, so what do I do, breed goldfish and live bearers and have to buffer! This is making me want to do a planted nano again though!

Haha, I am jealous and you are lucky!!! Make sure to wear your lab goggles and take notes! Haha. It is fun. Who knew a nano was harder than a larger tank in certain ways? I guess if I had one shrimp and some sand it would be easier! Haha

@@ADUAquascaping I know what you mean with the shrimp. Nano tanks can turn into tiny predator tanks that seem way out of balance to me. I kept a pea puffer in a tiny tank a few years back, I felt like I was constantly chasing the water instead of enjoying it, went to some random tiny rasboras and shrimp, a way more enjoyable and balanced experience for me. Definitely need to do a tiny planted scape now, given me the bug 😂 not that I need much excuse!

Hi ...really like the video about kh and lowering it with acids really informative about it won't lower it if you have really hard water to start of with I didn't no that you really no your stuff about water chemistry. I haven't used muriatic acid in my tank for a while now I have a ro unit that I was doing 50 %water change every week I was just using the acid to keep the kh stable when using lots of steri stone in my tanks as it was raising by 1dkh per day and I didn't want to keep changing ro water 2 or 3 times per week. This guy using acid to keep he's kh stable he sells he's own brand of ferts check out some of he's tanks kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bsuifpidrsWXc3k.html ... He really no what he's doing . Lee
