I built this kit a few months back. I also had an issue with the front valence pan. I had to add a bit of styrene to widen the valence a bit. And that radiator panel too, what a rough time. Usually Revell kits are better engineered. Painted mine in TAMiya bright red spraypaint.

I had the exact same problem, had to rip out the radiator to get the body to fit the chassis. I had heard going into the build that the engine as a really tight fit., definitely an understatement. Great looking build either way and the metallic blue looks awesome!

Great work, i love this kit and have built quite a few, i have cheated in the past and chopped the front of the chassis off, that way i can glue the front valance on before painting, cant remember any issues with the rad/core support. I have a full set of Chargers, 67-71, the Revell 67 is a gorgeous kit (did mine silver with a red interior, Hemi motor), the 71 is an AMT kit which i had tons of issues with including trying to get the engine to sit straight in the engine bay. I had a real 68 Charger over here in Scotland around 2003, stupidly i sold it as it needed interior work and a rewire, big car for the roads over here though, my 72 Firebird was much easier to live with.

Awesome build, you did a great job. I've built the '70 Charger, Dom's Charger. The front end is a very very tight fit. I had trouble with it, but i got it to work. I did break the steering shaft off. I believe the instructions say to put the interior in, then the chassis, then the radiator/ core support, then lower valence and grill. Like i said it's a very very tight fit. CA glue the chassis to the body 🤷‍♂️ That's what I did.

After 3 weeks, I just finished this kit and final assembly was a pain in the butt! Interior chassis would not fit without a lot of trimming…the front of main chassis was also the same…would not fit snug so mine sat a smidge high in the front. Again, super nice build ya got there.

On the AMT one, the core support was a tad wider than the grill. Shaved off the ends. All of these Chargers need raised in the back end. A great Build!. You reminded me, I forgot my door handles and side mirror.

You did not go wrong at all… was relieved to see it wasn’t me…had exact same problems ,,, ended up cutting the hell out of the radiator assembly to get it in. Then i glue bombed and clamped the chassis in order for it to fit right and not sit high on the front end

I have that kit in several versions... I gotten to gluing with styrene glue for a solid bond the valances on the body first and reinforcing them with super glue then mocking up the bottom of the car and finding any obstructions to fit and ride height before any paint happens.. I to love the 2and gen chargers in real life alwats wanted a 70 front end and a 68 rear for the tail lights a custom build. Guess I'll have to build it in scale to many 1 to 1 projects going to catch up!😂....so my short answer is mock up checking out the destructions and taking them as just a guide is the best plan of attack. I have not built one of my stash chargers but I did start my Dick Landy version... To me seeing your charger with out the core support is just wow hey something is missing! 😂 but you did very clean work and very nice chrome trim work! Will definetly want to see you build the next one hope you figure it out. If I do on my landy I'll report back 👍v8

Ed, I built this one and I really loved the kit. However, I also couldn’t get the nose down for the life of me. Mine looks pretty nice but it looks like it’s under acceleration sitting on the display shelf. I couldn’t get it down in front. Yours looks awesome either way

If you are having issues with final assembly, its probably because you didn't pre fit a mock up assembly prior to painting. Plus it helps if you also glue the front valance properly before paint. Saves making a mess with the super glue (and will be stronger too).

Too bad about the front end issues. Still looks great. "68 is my favorite year for the Charger, I think it's partly because I like the tail lights better than the following years.

How do you figure you went wrong on that kit? It turned out fantastic with a real nice paint job Ed. And the detail is where you did real nice. Just beautiful, LoL, that arthritis sucks line was funny. Keep on building man. Subbed. Cheers 🍺

I'm gonna say I didn't go wrong. Too many people in the comments had the same problems. Were I to build this kit again I'd trim down the bottom of the firewall. It seems to be a bit too big. Thanks for checking it out and the sub. Much appreciated.

I had the same issues with mine. Was very pleased with the details but during final it just would not set right. Front end wound up looking like it had just done a hard launch.

Regardless of any issues, she turned out beautifully, brother, awesome color combo!! 😁 I don't think it's anything that you did "wrong" or messed up on, I had the same exact problems (high front end, pita core/radiator) on both the '68 AND '69 kits I've built I the past, though I don't remember the culprits (both were pre-2011 house fire builds).
