I got a hair transplant about 8 and a half months ago. I went to Istanbul, Turkey to get my hair transplant done and got 2,400 grafts at the Dr. Serkan Aygin Clinic.

This was legit intriguing. Not just for the subject matter, but also the general setup: Brett reacting to others reacting to his content. Wouldn't mind seeing Brett pull this out again for other subjects. And I'm happy to see the video title fooled me - it was more of a positive professional analysis than a "DISMANTLING" 😂

I tried medication instead of going the hair transplant route. Had aggressive diffuse pattern alopecia at 23 (scalp became see through almost overnight). My first recourse was minoxidil and then I added finasteride on to my regimen. Had some sexual sides with finasteride and not so great results (it helped with stopping further hair loss). Switched to dutasteride and weirdly enough the sexual sides disappeared (it was almost like being on steroids). Had more energy on the latter, reduced brain fog, and managed a 90 percent hair loss recovery. Right now, I take dutasteride thrice a week with topical minoxidil. When I first switched to Dutasteride there was very aggressive hair shedding (had to shave to a 1). It took 6 months to see results but it is worth it. I am still maintaining a decade later.

@@bromie21 Hi, well I had 3500 grafts done 362 were free because when trans planting theses hair roots were removed together. Overall I like the way I look. I was given a capillus hat as a free gift and was told to wear it everyday for growth for the new hair. So if you’re thinking about this two things you need to consider that you might have regrets after just because of how you will look the first 8 months but it’s all for the better. I hope I answered your question.

I'm also reluctant to start the Finasteride, although I did buy some topical tubes here at the pharmacy just in case. I’ve been on finasteride 17:43 for over 20 years and have never experienced any side effects at all. I began early and used it preventively and have kept my hair . Had I not been on it, I believe I would have lost my hair. Everyone is different, but it’s worth trying, the earlier you use it the better. It’s easier to keep what you have versus trying to grow back lost hair. I use minoxidil foam as well.

This gives me a lot of hope. Noticed rapid thinning, like in September my hair was full and healthy in pictures. Now in march my hair is thinning in general and I developed a small bald spot on my crown. I can hide it since my hair has always been naturally thick but I still hopped on finasteride and went for blood tests. Turns out my vitamin d is extremely deficient so I got on vitamin d pills as well. Hopefully this stabilizes it at least or maybe I can regrow it, but I’ll be happy if it just stops how it is now.

Ive been to a consult for this and consults for hair line lowering, they cut and pull your hairline down, kinda a mini brow lift lol That is the procedure I decided upon. This was all mid pandemic and I havent actually gotten anything done yet. These grafts by your MD in turkey look amazing. Im seriously tempted to do grafts. I gotta shit or get off the pot as we say in the south lmoa

Hey Brett, I completely feel you on the finasteride, I hoped on it but was weary of the side effects like all of us are but I got a pill cutter and decided I was gonna give it a shot… I started taking 0.25 mg of finasteride on mondays/Wednesday’s/ and fridays.. for about 2 and a half months … now mind you, at first It started fine but then I slowly saw the side effects come into play.. watery cum… and eventually my libido went down, I still had the sex drive in my mind but the way my body felt down there was like It was sleeping… I said “screw this” and hopped off of it and decided I wasn’t gonna screw around with my hormones. It’s been about a month or so and it has improved but not fully yet at least I think… just be careful man… Also, I have been on minoxidil for about 2 years, and I recently decided to start dermarolling my hair and using a derma pin as well.. so I’m just gonna stick to that route

yeah I was 16 when my hairfall started and my doctor recommended me to use finasteride but because I knew about it, I denied using that, 2 years have passed, I am using 5% minox and 0.5mm derma rolling and was able to regrow my hairline around 80% and will continue this instead of taking risk of having finasteride at such a young age

I will also recommend not taking finestride, i dont have a transplant simce my hairline haven't decreased yet but i use minoxidil 5% topical liquid spray because i belong to the family of bald men (my father, uncles, cusions etc) and i dont want that to happen to me since i am the only one left with full head of hairs. Before starting minoxidil I used finestride for 3 weeks and the sexual side effects were huge on me (i mean huge) at that point so i stopped immediately and then it took me around 2 and half months for me to get back at pre-finestride state which was pretty good i must say. Right now i am using minoxidil (11 months and 27 days now) and also started biotin 2500 mcg one and half months ago. It is easy to use minoxidil on shorter hairs but yes it gets harder to apply on longer (more than 2 inches) hairs in my experience. I had around 6 inch of length a week ago and then i shaved my head which i do every march, at the start of summer, because i can't handle the heat on my scalp and face and my hair growth is above average around 0.75 to 0.8 inch a month so I'll have good length of hairs again in 5 to 6 months. I heard topical finestride is best to avoid the side effect and sadly i dont have it available in my country so you should get the topical version of it but I don't know how you apply it with minoxidil. You should check that out as well. Anyway sorry for my long comment but yes i will also recommend not taking oral finestride and minoxidil.

You don’t need fin but do include nutrition that blocks dht, avoid drinking/smoking. Rosemary and pumpkin seed oil are known to work well like a topical fin

Don’t listen to this nonsense. ^^ It doesn’t even make sense if you think about it for 2-seconds. What’s the difference between blocking DHT with finasteride or natural supplements? If the lower DHT is causing the side-effects, you’ll get the side effects no matter how you lower it. You might as well take the finasteride, which has actually been shown to work in large scale studies.

@@tomcotter4299 Great response. I understand how people fall for this logical fallacy that natural products are inherently safer, but their claims should be corrected. Just to add to what you said, even if a natural product works like finasteride, we can't really say it lowers it to a hair safe level. At the end of the day, most of these products might as well be placebo and a huge waste of money, scalp massages and smearing broccolli on your scalp are cheaper at this point, lol

Just a tip, if you early on noticed the first signs of hairloss which is usually starts on the temples, it means u have caught on your male pattern baldness on a very early stage, which means u dont have to panic, what i advice you to do from here on out is take lesser dose of finasteride. just take finasteride 1mg 3 times a week or you could even lessen that to 0.5mg or 0.25mg 3 times a week, just make sure you dont go beyond 1mg...that's it, you've done your part on countering your MPB and just move forward in life. Good luck gentlemen
