My experience: I’m 66 yrs old, half Asian w/ pretty good skin. I bought a pkg of 3 Morpheus 8 treatments to help w/ sagging on lower face & neck. I made it through 2 sessions. Aesthetician used numbing cream, did 3 passes over each section. By the 3rd pass, tears were automatically streaming. I have high threshold for pain, so it was surprising. It felt like hypodermic needle followed by electric shock. Terrible! For the cost & pain, results were minimal. Dr. Karam is right: nothing takes the place of vertical facelift. So that’s what I’m saving for now. I’ll continue to do Clear & Brilliant laser to treat sunspots & surface damage….but anything deeper needs surgery. Good luck ladies! (Pls. read comments below for more info on my experience:)

Wow 3 passes is a lot! Usually it's not the device, it's the technician. When I had it done it was only 1 pass. I always apply numbing cream myself because they don't usually leave it on as long. I need at 30 mins to one hour for the numbing cream to work.
@jo7956
@jo7956 Жыл бұрын
@@SomaYogaSpectrum Yes, they allowed 35-40 min. for numbing cream to set in. I think by the 3rd pass, it’s worn off. I was told just one pass wasn’t sufficient to do any good. Too weak. Hope you had better results?

I think the problem is everyone would like to have a vertical restore, but can't afford 50,000 dollars. Why not lower your prices? I am sure you could if you wanted to do so. You are obviously at the top of your game so why not be big hearted and let someone get a reasonably priced facelift.

Very good point. This procedure cannot be compared to a facelift. Nothing can and Shouldn’t be compared with a facelift. Period. This here is simply to recharge the skin and it’s under layer-maybe similar to what you get with Tretinoin, for example. But an actual fact lift- lifts, and everything under skin is repositioned-the muscle and the fat pads. How in the world can anyone compare this M8 to a facelift?? I’ve done both! People are delusional thinking the M8 treatment is alternative! 🙄

Start taking care of your skin early!! It’s the only way to prevent aging and the most natural way. Btw people, I work as a surgical assistant so work with more than 20+ plastic surgeons. Mid 40s, had 2 sessions of Morpheus and the results are great! I'm a few years away from vertical restore and personally, I don't think waiting until surgery is the solution. Just like great skincare, IPLs and other in-office treatments, Morpheus is an added benefit to postpone an 50K+ surgery!!! And as others mentioned, only get it done by a doctor/plastic surgeon as to not melt the fat or create other skin damage. I will definitely be going to Dr K in the future but suggesting a surgery most people will never afford as a valid option compared to a $1400 treatment which, in my opinion, truly makes a significant difference while still in your 40s is a bit silly. I'm sure we'd all choose the surgery if we could :)

I did Morpheus 8 but just as a treatment for little improvement.The result are subtle but personally my skin was perfectly healed 2 days after it.Said that I think the real problem with Antiaging cosmetic procedures is that normal people can not afford a facelift of any type.I think this type of conversation should be a little be more realistic.Possibly facelift are better than other non invasive treatments but they are really expensive. Facelift are one of the the most costly cosmetic procedures and ,most people can just not afford it and that is why alternative is a claim used to sell Morpheus 8 or anything else.

My Morpheus 8 experience was SHOCKINGLY painful and sent electric shock waves that made my arms twitch and flail. No one told that RF treatment was the same as an electric shock and I was totally unprepared for that. They put numbing cream on my face and neck, but not around the edges so when they treated the areas that weren’t numb it felt like I was being stung, shocked and burned all at once. I had my face, neck and upper arms treated. My arms flopped and jolted uncontrollably with every zap. It reminded my of Dr. Frankenstein shock monster machine-I was terrified. I was kind of in shock and had to drive myself home. I was in pain for several days and quite sick. I was not prepared for that level of recovery. I literally thought I would be able to go back to my office afterwards. That’s what they told me! I’m 58 years old and I have had several major cosmetic surgeries that were less traumatic! If they had properly prepared me for the level of pain, the recovery time, etc, I would have handled it batter. Now I only see an MD even for just botox- no more aestheticians or injectors. Be careful!

Im in my early 40s, had both ultherapy and morpheus8, loved the results and experiences. Its all subjective depending on age, life style, concerns and desired results. I was taken care of wonderfully both times, Yes there were some discomforts, and there would have been some with surgery as well. Avoiding surgery, scar tissue and looking fake are my priorities… which Ive decided to start the non invasive route as early as possible… i also dont drink, dont smoke, work out 4-5 times a week, vegetarian and drink lots of water. Priority is being healthy mentally and physically… the beautification part is a gift, not a co dependent. As our bodies will continue to change but it can do so with grace.

These minimally invasive procedures give us the power to help ourselves age slower, help us stick to our healthy lifestyles because were paying some money and going through some discomfort and want results, but do not make us so obsessive about aging. I want to look good for my age, not 10 yrs younger. Which btw facelifts dont make you look younger, they make you look desperate.

I'll definitely wait till fall or winter to do the rest of the treatments when it's not so hot. If you're thinking about doing it find a doctor or nurse who are truly experienced with it. Heads up! It's a painful procedure, even with the numbing cream. My nurse used lydocaine and that was extremely helpful. With that said, Morpheus8 is not for everyone, just like surgical procedures are not for everyone, look at Madonna. However, on the right hands you'll look and feel great! Good luck.

@kathrynlouiseberman7919

I had 2 ablative CO2 procedures, once in my face and neck for a surgery scar and once for burns on my hand. I didn't have much downtime at all, but you shouldn't wear makeup or get into the sun for several days. On my face and neck, the doctor gave me a Valium and numbing cream, but nothing masks the smell of burning flesh. That said, the results were beautiful. It took a few weeks to see max results, but one day I looked in the mirror and my face was glowing and baby smoothe. And you can't see my scar unless you REALLY look. It was the final step in healing for my hand. The hand surgeon completely sedated me for that procedure. Once again, the results are beautiful. It eliminated "roping" between my fingers, and the burned skin is soft and flexible. When having my consultation, the surgeon was surprised I not only knew the particulars of CO2 ablation, but also that I'd had it done on my face and neck. If I were ever to do a vertical restore type facelift, I would budget some money to have the ablative CO2 procedure about 2 months post healing to improve any scar appearance.

My experience: 39 year old. I’ll be 40 in two weeks. I did two sessions of the Morpheus8 and YES 🙌 I saw results on the first and second but guess what??? The results DON’T LAST 😮. My skin look firmer and tighter for 3 to 4 months and then NOTHING… back to its original state. And I have to say for the amount of money 💰 but specially THE PAIN 😖😣 is not worth it. So much so… I’m a beauty blogger and they offered a third session for free and I won’t do it again. No way Jose 😅. What I did notice a bit was my sub-mental fat diminish. I think the fat under my double Chin went away a bit. But the laxity on my jawls which is very subtle and the thing I wanted to address the most, wasn’t improved. It was like a placebo effect that lasted 3-4 months and then the results where completely gone.

very accurate account of what happens. the energy temporarily delivers a tightening shrinking effect which goes away over time and then you are left with baseline plus some melted tissue. dont do more bc when you melt too much submental fat you end up with a turkey neck. think of a cute baby with a double chin vs a older purse with no double chin but a gobble gobble. quit while youre ahead and dont buy the '3 sessions' to maintain results hype.

Nobody says M8 will last forever. The protocol is 3 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart. Full affects seen at 6 months with annual maintenance, after that. But your face will still age over time. At some point M8 won't be able to keep up depending on the person, so you try something else depending on your personal goals and budget. Even facelifts don't last forever. Your two treatments gave you what is to be expected.

Non surgical treatments work! It's cumulative though. I've been doing non-surgical treatments since my 30's. Starting with IPL, skin peels and Retin-A. Then radiofrequency, stem cell treatments and other things that increase collagen, like biostimulator fillers. I just had my first Morpheus8 treatment and it was a breeze. I did my research and used a plastic surgeon. It's often not the device, it's the person who can mess you up. (even surgeons can make people look awful. And that's NOT reversible. M8 won't give you immediate results but it will slow down the aging process. I'm 52 and people think I'm 35 because I've been taking good care of my skin. I understand that there may be a time when I need a facelift, but by then plastic surgeons might be out of a job, lol. Technology is getting more sophisticated! I don't feel anyone under the age of 45 needs Morpheus, just use good products and do non invasive treatments like biostimulators, Retin-A, eat healthy, etc.

@SomaYogaSpectrum
@SomaYogaSpectrum Жыл бұрын
@@DC-sm3sr Hey! No I live in Mexico. At your age I would not spend the $ on Morpheus. Things I would do are: Retin-A (even the weakest retin-a is stronger than retinols). Do chemical peels, and start getting biostimulator fillers like Alanse or Radiesse once a year in your problem areas (these do not change the look of your face, what it does is slows down the aging process - research it). If you want to improve the texture of your skin you can do so many things, like just regular microneedling (you can do it at home...research for a good device). I also really really love microcurrent. It's temporary but wow it works for lifting! For things like rosacea and those pesky little red veins V-Beam laser is amazing, way better than IPL. I've had a "perma burn" on my chest and redness around my nose for years and the V-beam took it away. What is your issue exactly?

@@SomaYogaSpectrum Hello, thanks so much for the response. I am 35 and beginning to see facial fat on my lower face and a little hollowing under the eyes. My jawline has blurred out, and I have some unwanted fat under my chin. Not much, and I think losing 10 lbs will help after I give birth. Currently, 6 MO preg, but these were issues I wanted to target before. I also want smoother and tighter skin. I heard IPL is great for sunspots, so I will try and look at your recommendation too. But for skin tightness and brightness, I was considering Morpheus and/or PRF. Some other smaller experimental things I had on my radar were cryoskin (not coolsculpt) facial and Emface. One bigey I want to target is my undereye wrinkles. In terms of invasive, I was only considering MAYBE chin lip and fat transfer under the eyes and on my nasiofold which have begun to prop up. Again, I gained about 10-15 LBS over the past 5 years, so not great timing, but I would not say I am overweight at all. What do you think? Thanks again for the dialogue

I’ve had morpheus8 done by a plastic surgeon (after a less than satisfactory session with an aesthetician who did not do enough passes or deep enough) and have significantly improved old acne scars, smoother skin and a slight bit of tightening. It is very painful and I asked for nerve block after the first session. It’s a tool and it’s more important the skill of the provider. I’m sure my skin is thicker now because of collagen. I’m 62 and have done it over the last 2 years. I’m a bit unique in that I’ve been a bodybuilding competitor for over a decade and eat very clean and have had a very healthy fitness lifestyle so I probably look 7 to 10 years younger anyway. I’m planning facelift but life has delayed it a bit and having good skin should make my results even better.

Do you ever think the price for surgical approaches will ever become more affordable? Wow. Yes. I intuitively new this 13 years ago…. I felt like the radio and ultrasound would compromise my subcutaneous fat layer. I am a thin woman. I researched (which verified) and I continued to question this. Finally only one doctor admitted to me that while the fat loss would be minimum, that these frequencies indeed would compromise it. He felt that Morpheus of all the technologies was as least the lesser culprit. Perhaps because the depth could be more regulated? The industry as well as doctors always pushed these modalities on me and everyone. I did a bit of exelis on my neck and around my eyes. Big mistake. I see many women begin to look gaunt. I have indeed put minimal and artistic amounts of FILLER in my face over the years with much success. So I disagree with you there. BUT I AGREE AND AM GRATEFUL FOR ALL OF YOUR OTHER SENSIBILITIES! For me it wasn't that painful (laser tattoo removal was way worse). Recovery was a breeze. Before the procedure I used Emla numbing cream. I prepared my skin really well before applying the cream and left it on for at least an hour. The M8 treatment was slightly painful, but very tolerable. By the next day my skin was mostly normal with a few teeny tiny scabby spots and some pink areas, which went away within 3 days. No bruising. I actually went on a date 3 days after. You won't see immediate results, it takes time for the skin to regenerate from the process. I live in Mexico and the cost for one treatment was approximately $400 USD. They suggest 3 treatments and then after that 1x a year.

My experience of RF-Microneelde is good so far. Its important, VERY important that the doctor to educate and inform that it's NOT a replacemet fo facilifts. Theres NO reason to go deeper than 1.0mm in facial treatments, and around the eye very gentle and max 0.25mm. It's a good treatment for wrinkles, skin thinning, pigmentation, collagen induction. And a mild lifting effect. But as with any treatment theres risks, ex. Fitzpatrick scale. And from there plan the treatments, in darker skintones always have scarring in mind. Thats the downsides of RF-microneedling. And potential hyperpigmentation. But for lift and deeper structural restorement the surgery is in favor.

Idk I had great results from both but I prefer the finer treatment. I mean It broke up my melasma which I wasn’t expecting. I personally love it, in fact I’m going for the first time in a year this week. Of course a person that’s guna do surgery only is guna tell u to spend 10 grand cuz the other treatments are no good. I’m sure there’s pros and cons to both

Of course he is promoting himself BUT he is one of the few people that have balked the system and admitted that Morpheus8 can cause fat loss. I had 2 sessions and lost an incredible amount of volume. I’m 50yrs old and my cheeks looked like I took out dentures (that I don’t have). I’ve already had a facelift and wanted tighten up the jowl area. Some has been added back with filler but it sucks to go through the pain and expense to look worse afterward.

I am a Medical Aesthetician and my clients always asking me for all these new procedures all the time . At the same time they don’t believe I am a grandma and ask me what have I done to my skin. I always answer- I don’t experiment . I need to see personally 5-10 people with good results before I start thinking about new treatment. It’s a business- industry. I have some rules : 1) keep your skin clean 2) stimulate collagen production 3) resurface if needed 4) protects 5)maintain weight 6)don’t go by trend , go by your skin needs 5) eventually you have to accept aging or get ready for plastic surgery. I have client now , with no skin left on her cheeks. She got hyperpigmentation and she tried everything possible!!!! I have a treatment plan for clients like her, but after assessment, I am not going even do chemical peels on her skin . The only thing I can offer- mesotherapy ( not micro needling) with hope yo restore the skin. My heart is broken 😞

A friend of mine had a deep plane facelift and neck lift, with the eyes and eyebrow lift too and lip lift , (he calls it vertical, that is just his marketing, it is a deep plane facelift and all deep plane are basically trying to pull vertically, so don’t think he is the only one doing it). And let me tell you that the healing process is very long. It takes 6 months to a year for final results. Surgery duration : 11 hours! Also she had heavy salivary glands that were reduced too because otherwise her neck would not get best results. So be prepared for that long healing process. Yes you can go back to work , but you definitely don’t look your best . Doctors need to be more honest about the real healing process. She is two months after the process and still looks puffy and has numbness in ears and upper face and she says her eyes feel weird too. I am sure it is worth it at the end, but easy it is not. But he is right all those procedures do nothing substantial and with deep plane facelifts the results are so much more natural than anything else, but the trick is to find a good surgeon that you can afford because for the success of getting a natural look you need 6 procedures and there is a fee attached for each one, so it is about 50k for someone experienced unless you go to Dr Jacono who is one of the very best and then we are talking 100k, so basically you got to be rich or be wiklling to have this done in a different country for a bit cheaper or accept to age gracefully.

I am like a lot of women here, I bought the package of 3. It was the worst experience, and yes I cried, too. In fact, this is so painful they offer to put you out for the procedure. By the time I was finished with the 2nd, I had made up my mind I was not coming back and to just use the money from the 3rd to get product. And through all that there was no amazing result, in fact, I am pretty sure fat was melted. Ladies, who are on the fence, listen to Dr Karam, take care of your skin with good products but save your money when it comes to these so-called alternative treatments, and find a good plastic surgeon. By the way, it was my esthetician from a different spa, not the dr who did the Morpheus, who recommended my plastic surgeon.

I've never heard Morpheus 8 promoted in the way you are saying it is in aesthetics. The don't claim it's a substitute for a facelift, they say it helps with skin tightening and is recommended in mild laxity cases. The problem is that people's expectations are subjective and they are probably not good candidates for it if their laxity is more severe.

@@dramirkaram Headline from who? This video implies that a facelift is the fix all when it's not. The morpheus does things that a facelift can't. There's no go to for everything, it's about combining treatments to target different problems. It seems biased to see a plastic surgeon cross out every other treatment apart from a full face lift which is exactly what you have done in this video.

@elzibabmorac3553 Жыл бұрын
@@jr-pr9lw Yes and whilst I think practitioners should be as clear as they can be on what a treatment can do for you, they can't always help it if the client misunderstands them. When I had my morpheus treatments done they said before hand it will tighten my skin. I don't think I gave enough thought into what that actually meant. I got it in my head that it would tighten my face because that was what I wanted to believe. After a few months I felt like it hadn't worked so had a sit down with the Dr and realised I misinterpreted what it meant and that it actually had tightened my skin. It just didn't do anything for my mild lower face sag. So I got threads to manage that and the combination of the two is fantastic. The morpheus really made my skin firmer and helped tighten up mild crepiness. The threads gave me some lift. I'm really happy with the results now that I have figured out what I really wanted. I have had fillers twice before that but have realised I don't really need those. It can be a bit of trial and error when it comes to managing our expectations.

I had a series of Procell micro-needlings; believe me, done more damage to my skin and I also broke out all over from the ingredients they used. The bottom line is, it's all about marketing, selling products, and wasting money. It's nice to have good skincare, but as we age it's better to eat healthier, stay hydrated, exercise, and have a good skincare routine.

I have not used Morpheus however I did use Neogen plasma and I did not have any positive results. I lost a lot of my fat layer which I've always had a full face and so it was very noticeable right away. The only thing my practitioner offered was more neogen plasma PSR which I absolutely refused after much consideration. So now they're offering me morpheus and I am doing my research at this point before I agreed to do anything such as that and I am of the mindset that Morpheus will not help me because NeoGen plasma did not help me. I lost fat under my skin my face is noticeably aged more and now I cannot get that back. So the goal of improving was not achieved and it's dead. I spent $2,500 on melting some of my fat layer away which was not my intention at all. So that's my story.

Thank you Dr Karam for your professional insight , knowledge and experience. Unfortunately I saw this video after spending $8000+, later. I’m a 58 year old female. I had a lower face, jowls and neck Facetite procedure, suture neck lift with 2-3 M8 treatments and I have to say, after 8 months… it was 100% plus, a WASTE OF MONEY! I saw some change, my husband didn’t. So you’re right WE see what we want to see. And come to think of it, I don’t think I ever saw a review that was written years later claiming that they were happy and that they still looked great. I know now that if I had watched this video or anything like it, that told the truth about such procedures I would have thought twice about it but unfortunately what goes through our minds is “ these plastic surgeons just want to make money off of us when we can do this and look just as good”. We’re deceiving ourselves. If we can afford a good plastic surgeon, that knows what they’re doing, like you, then we should go that route, otherwise we need to learn how to take care of our skin at a young age or any age and grow old gracefully. Thanks again and thank you for all the info you post. ❤ I would love to try your trifecta skin care but I’m one of those that never took care of their skin so I got melasma and I don’t know if it’s to late for me or for anything to help my skin now at nearly 60. I hope this helps someone out there that may be thinking of doing any of those procedures I mentioned doing.

Thank you for providing this education to the public. I have significant volume loss (fat loss and deflation of the SMAS) from microneedling RF. I'm 8.5 months out from the 2nd of two Vivace RF procedures. It is clear I will need surgical correction to address the damage done to my face. I don't think the damage done to my skin will ever fully recover. My procedure was done at a plastic surgeon's office, by an experienced esthetician. They did not educate me or explain the real risks involved. It was marketed as an innocuous device that would give the skin "a glow." My biggest fear was that I would pay a considerable amount of money for it to do nothing. Instead, my entire face dropped. I watched for weeks as my face melted away. Even my muscles were affected, which was confirmed by a prominent plastic surgeon on the East Coast. I continue to have tightening and relaxing, as well as tingling, every day. Luckily, my body is working hard to repair itself, so I'll wait at least a year before any surgical procedure. I don't want other people to experience what I and many others have been through. There is a support group on facebook for people who have had damage from RF and other heat devices. It's terrible to see people harmed and traumatized when the mission of this industry is exactly the opposite. It's happening far too often. It seems to me there are some excellent plastic surgeons who are leading the way in education and transparency on the shortfalls and lessons learned in plastics in the last 10 to 20 years. Thank you for being one of them. It shows your care for patients, your ethics, and your commitment to excellence.
