If I can make a suggestion... I have had plastic surgery in summer and winter. I think winter is easier. The shorter days, the set schedules it all makes a difference. Great that you are looking in your community. 😘

I completely understand how hard it would be to be gone so long away from young children. I have teenagers and grown children and it was hard being away from them. I do love Dr. Sauceda but I am biased lol. Good luck finding the surgeon that fits your needs. :) Have a great week!

I’m looking forward to hearing about your next two plastic consults! It is so hard to put ourselves first as mothers of small children. I’ve been trying to think how I could make it work being away 1-2 weeks considering being gone 2.5 days was like moving Heaven & Earth.

On My WEIGH Down VSG I think that once you make a decision it would all fall into place. Your family and friends will be there for you if you ask. It’s just difficult to let go and ask. I know I just don’t do it. 😘

Sleeved Aftersixty That’s a good point! I pride myself on very rarely asking for help which is not always a good thing! I’ve actually been thinking about that a lot... how I expect/want others to read my mind vs just telling/asking others for help. Thanks for verbalizing my thoughts. ❤️

On My WEIGH Down VSG I’m totally the same way. It never occurs to me that I can ask for help, although I would be more than willing to help someone else. What’s interesting is that I even have a difficult time thinking about hiring someone to help. I think I should be able to do it,fix, solve it... by myself.

Sleeved Aftersixty We are too much alike! Often it feels like in the time I spend telling someone how to do the job, I could just do it myself. My husband says I need to realize there is more than one way to do things & I don’t have to micromanage everything. Definitely an area I could stand to improve.

I will be curious to hear about the other consults

I’m really torn on how many plastics consults to get. I like the look of his work and the idea of twilight anesthesia (anesthesia is always the hardest part of any surgery for me) so I am biased toward Dr. Sauceda, which makes me wonder if I should just not bother checking with the others. If you don’t mind sharing in a public forum, what makes you inclined to get several?

For me, Dr Sauceda just isn't an option with the time away. I liked Dr Moya, and the shorter time away from home is okay for me (and my husband could likely be with me the whole time), but I still would like to get at least one local doctor's opinion. Right now I am biased toward the procedure that Dr Moya does, especially with my torso shape, but that might change!

The time away definitely is a factor, especially when you have children as young as yours. I like the idea of the corset lift, too. I am an hour-glass shape and I think that would really help to enhance that. If only it were possible without general anesthesia! :-)

Yeah, general anesthesia isn't a problem for me. I'm sleepy for a while, and I might be nauseous when I first wake up, but it's not a big deal for me.
